Hey Joe,

First time poster myself. I actually got a chance to briefly meet you when you were starting your Super Colossal tour at West LA Music, you were very kind to stay until everybody got a chance to get an autograph and a picture :).

Needless to say, you've been a big influence on my playing as a guitarist, growing up listening to you in the late 80's and 90's. I wouldn't be the guitarist I am now if it wasn't for listening to your music.

I've started to record some quick sound samples for my studio (wanting to start offering on-line guitar tracks for people, so I'm putting together some demos so people know what kind of sounds / styles I can do :). So naturally I felt inspired to do a take on one of your tracks, Solitude in this case. Hence I wanted to share:

http://soundcloud.com/elmagoo/js-solitude-interpretation-dn

Basically was playing with some of my FX pedals, doing some washy delay and reverb type stuff, and Solitude felt like a great piece to use (it's set to stream only, no download of course :).

If you search on facebook, it's called Ohm Recording Studios (yeah yeah...shameless plug). Best of luck with the upcoming Chickenfoot tour!! Keep on jamin'!!!

Michelle Cool to see you follow Doug Wheelock too =D he posts some really cool pictures!

Joe you probably wont get to this but how did you learn chords? I have more of an issue with them due to stupid sausage fingers (thanks mom...), But my main problem is I want to play scales and solo/lead type stuff too much to where i get really bored trying to learn chords.

I know if I learn them it will benefit me in more ways than I can really think about, right now its just hard to stay interested, do you have any tips/tricks to learning chords in a fun engaging way?

One more question! Do you, or anyone for that matter, know how I can get ahold of the tab/music for your track Longing? (bonus track to Wormhole Wizards) I love the melody and chord progression... This song just hits me in a way where no matter the mood I am in I feel happy and content while listening to it. Not many songs can do that for me so thanks =D

p.s. Hello fellow Satch fans, been awhile since i've been here... hope you're all doing well!

TheBob, so nice to see you again! I dig following the astronauts. The pics are incredible, even though I can hardly ever guess what part of Earth they're showing. lol! It's amazing how they know, but that's their job. As for chords, let me tell you the best way. The best way is... well, I have no idea because I don't play guitar, BUT I did find this. I figure that should be distracting enough to teach you whatever you want to know while learning all that stuff! There ya go! Problem solved. Distraction at it's finest!

Back to our regularly scheduled program

OMFG, check these kids out! It's Metallica with a speech impediment! They're so good for being so young! Holy crap!

Cube : VM onto HP mesa engineering = very cool stack. At least with single coil. You should try bro..

Joe : Finally checked the JS 2400 onto VM. Have to say that it's a very nice guitar. Tried some evhcoltrane shit with it. But the strat is definitly better for my current playing. Have to work now the VM + Engineering tone.

Skippy...noooo, no CF tix for the San Fran road show. I've spent sooo much money these past few years taking myself and Chris to see Joe, G3, and CF and now must pretend to be responsible and pay off credit cards before any more shows. RESPONSIBILITY SUCKS MONKEY BALLS!!!

Meanwhile, I already had a good pout-face the day tix went on sale, knowing I wasn't going to buy this time. On Nov 1st, day of the actual show...well let me just say...

It's gonna be a terrible, horrible, no-good, very BAD DAY!!! I'll prolly break an arm or a leg tripping over my fat boo-boo lip, LOL!!

I know...wahhh wahhh wahhh....could be so much worse :) I'll get over it...sooner or later, lol! But DAMN I'm gonna miss seeing Joe!!

Hey Joe and everyone at Satriani.com,

I just took some pictures for my band's website. I play a silver Carvin DC135C and in one of the pictures it looks sort of like Joe's "Chrome Boy". That was one of the first things that came into my mind when I saw the picture. Check it out here. Thanks

Nice find Oxley! Joe, just stoppin in to tell you how much im Enjoying Chickenfoot III. it took a while, but Im loving it..it really is showcasing the best of all 4 of you...and for the first time in a while, its inspired me to play my guitar as only you and a rare few can do. The vocal harmonies, kick ass Drumming, solid bass lines, great lyrics...and of course, the spin and surprise you decorate the music with is in a league of its own. Thank You! See ya in NY!
