CHICKENFOOT HEAD STRAIGHT FOR ALBUM #3:

From RollingStone: Chickenfoot, the rock supergroup featuring guitarist Joe Satriani, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and former Van Halen members Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar, have finished work on a new album. Though it's only their second record together, the band have named the album Chickenfoot III. According to frontman Hagar, they went with the title because "it's so good, the songs are so tight, it's like we jumped right past having to make a second record."

The 10-track disc will hit stores on September 27th, heralded by the release of its lead single "Bigfoot" on August 2nd. The record is said to emphasize arena-sized riffs, but will also feature the Delta blues number "Something Going Wrong" and "Come Closer," a ballad with music penned by Satriani to complement lyrics written by Hagar.

The full track listing for Chickenfoot III: "Last Temptation" "Alright, Alright" "Different Devil" "Up Next" "Lighten Up" "Come Closer" "Three and a Half Letters" "Big Foot" "Dubai Blues" "Something Going Wrong".

They have an even more expanded preview - but it really doesn't start until 2:45 or so.

It starts with recaps of the first album with clips from the videos - then new stuff starts.

Enjoy

So then... not ONE single Dethklok (Brendon Small) fan up in here? I've been listening to his albums for a couple of years now and truly the man is a genius on the guitar. I've never been able to swallow death-metal vocals, at all, but Dethklok is parody and for whatever reason, I give it permission. The more I listen to Dethalbum I & II the more amazing stuff I hear, if you give it a chance I think you'll be quite surprised. The fact that Brendon needs Mike Keneally on stunt guitar should be the first hint. I remember when MK joined the touring line-up he was quoted as saying "Everybody thinks that this is brain-dead metal, but it's anything but that, this stuff is VERY hard to play." Brendon is currently working on a solo album, so maybe that will open up people's eyes as what kind of a monster player he is.

So come on... give it a chance.. it's VERY funny and highly talented stuff, Joe loves Metalocalypse, so that should be the second hint. Here's a bit from season 3, hopefully soon to be Dethalbum III.
Enjoy!

Sorry Scub- If I were in the market for an acoustic, I would probably just buy a $100 Ibanez starter guitar. If it looks acoustic and sounds acoustic, then IMO, it's just an acoustic. I'd rather spend my money on effects or another electric or some such thing to tweak my tone. Looking at an Epiphone G-400 Cherry at the moment. Probably do a p/u mod at put an Angus Young at the neck and a Classic '57 HB at the bridge. That is if the government does something about the debt ceiling and I get my paycheck next month, but that's another matter..... Good luck on the gear hunt.

When it comes to acoustics its a little more important to get a nicely built instrument with good raw materials and crafted well... you can't mask an acoustic as well with some effect wizardry as you may get away with more so on an electric.. there's lots of variables, find out what types and sounds you like, and go playing a few

Gonna go see the last Harry Potter movie tonight. Which is cool since it doesn't come out for a couple more days, its on an IMAX screen and its free.

I guess working at a movie theater has its perks.

We saw Transformers 3 last weekend, thoroughly enjoyed it, but then I'm a HUGE fan of the entire franchise pretty much, love going through it all again with my boy Max (Maximus Prime). He lucks out that Daddy is a weirdo completist and has alllll that stuff. (even have the original animated uncut with the "oh shit!" line),

What I'm seriously anxious for is Captain America! Saw the trailer for that and holy moley, lemme yell you, TOOL's Forty Six & 2 never sounded SO good! Fits well too, perfect really.

Hey Jon, does Mike Keneally have a login here? He IS band afterall. It'd be nice to see a little different color ink around here every now'n again.

Show of hands for the Ottawa show Sunday, I'll be wearing my shiny new Tony MacAlpine tee, has everybody heard his new album yet? Absolutely Killer. It was really great to see him included in the Cliff benefit.
