All the reviews are saying the best pickup combo is a PAF Joe in the neck and a Mo'Joe in the bridge.

But my Ibanez RG5EX1 has a middle pickup that Joe doesn't have, what should I put there?

and what is the difference between regular and F spaced?

Does the fact that my guitar has 24 frets affect the neck pickup? because the js guitars have 22 except the js2400 which has rail pickups at the neck.

and one last thing, does the chrome pickups sound nicer? it costs almost twice as much as the others, it definately looks cool but how does it sound compared to the others?

Hello, I am Brazilian and I'm 53, I'm industrial designer since 1999 and working with import of hospital supplies. My husband and I have a company. I love the guitar and its sound is my favorite. I love your guitar. Finally had the courage to come to your site and try to talk with you. I have a son who is 22 years old who works with us. He studies music and plays guitar, it was he who introduced me to the sound of Joe Satriani, which I fell in love. He studied classical music from an early age his books are in English and Italian, so working with us from Monday to Friday and all the nights and weekends only studied music, want to study in Berkee / Boston, I think in 2011 will be able to go. Anyway I am a mother like any other business but when the guitar is, I am a teenager. When I'm driving only hear your music. Desculpe por meu inglês, eu uso o google para me ajudar. Quando você fará show no Brasil? Serei a primeira a comprar o ingresso. Obrigada. Best regards. Magali.

Sorry I forgot to copy the end of my message translated (beginner):

Sorry for my English, I use google to help me. When you will show in Brazil? Be the first to buy a ticket. Thank you for giving me opportunity to write to you, is my first time writing to someone on a website. If you can return to me. I'm not as old as my age as my son and his friends still have fun with me and support me. Thank you and more, if I may. Note: My name is Magali Di Toro Libardi Tiengo (my surname is Italian). Thank you. Best regards. Magali.

Guitarman77897- I went with the PAF Joe/Mo'Joe combo in my JS100 and love it. If I remember correctly, F spaced pickups are for guitars with double locking trems (Floyd Rose-Spacing). It has to do with the spacing of the pole pieces, or distance between the strings. As for the single coil p/u in the middle, I'd consider something like the DiMarzio Pro Track, which is what Joe uses at the neck position on the JS2400. Just my two cents.

Loving Big Foot, BTW!!!

Guitarman without guitar for 2 weeks.

I am sad...

I am also sad for Randell, its gotta be the hardest thing to lose an immediate family member, I have lost both my grandfathers, and that was hard enough, but a brother has got to sting a lot.

my condolences...

Its a tube combo amp, when I turned it on there was a loud pop and it stopped working.

Its a Peavey valveking royal 8, it was really nice and there aren't a whole lot of tube amps for $200. And Guitar Center doesn't sell them any more.

I already took it to American TV for repairs. There was a $40 fee up front. they said it would not cost more than $65, but if the tube needs replacing that could easily be $75 for the part.

I hope they can fix it because if they can't I won't be able to get another one like it and would have to switch to a valveking 112, at $420. Which I would rather not do at the moment.

If I need to buy a new amp, is there any tube combo amp between $200 and $300?

I was at Guitar Center yesterday and was looking around, there were plenty of $200-$300 amps by Marshall, Line 6, Peavey, Vox etc. but not one of them was a tube amp.

I wanted to try the Joe combo amp. But then saw it was $1500. Thats more than the JSX head, must be amazing.

If there is a cheap half stack I might consider it. I saw a Marshall half stack for $550 and another for $600.

Joe is gonna release his modified Marshall head and I have no idea how much that is gonna cost.

So now I am gonna have to wait a couple weeks for the amp, so I sent the Big Bad Wah back and am gonna replace it. Hopefully this one won't squeak. And it was actually more of a nails on a chalkboard kind of scratchy sound. It sounded like it could do damage to the pedal so fingers crossed this one works better.

The pickups are gonna have to wait as well. I am going with the PAF Joe in the neck and a Mo'Joe in the bridge. and I think I will take Turbo's reccomendation and put a Pro Track in the middle.

So if I need F spaced pickups, and the Pro Track doesn't come in F spaced, will that matter?

The tubes they had on display at guitar center were $75, on the site I am seeing them anywhere from $10 for one to $150 for a two pack.

how much does the tube affect the tone? Should I have American just replace it with whatever it had before or buy a better tube and have them use that?

Here's a quote from Ultimate Classic Rock review of Bigfoot:

"Joe Satriani rips his best ‘Foot solo to date at the 2:18 mark and tears it up, continuing to reveal with each riff that he rocks with Chickenfoot that his playing is far removed from the stereotypical guitar virtuoso some might peg him for — he isn’t simply trying to jam in a bunch of notes. His solo on ‘Big Foot’ has a whole lot of flash, but it never feels over the top, barely crossing 20 seconds in total length and, man, it’s awesome."

I was really thinking the same thing. Like Joe takes off for a short solo and then right back into the song. That was a good change of pace solo for sure.

I really like Sammy's vocals in this song. They sound more like Sammy of old. Not necessarily any type of depth (which may be coming in other tracks) but not filled with oohhs and ahhs and alright's filler stuff to make a 3:30 song into a 4:25 song. And the harmonies rock. Just gotta love some Mikey!

I checked out some of those amps and even used they're still $700 and up, I am in college and paying $2000 a semester and have a part time job paying minimum wage. After I get a real job I will get better equipment.

American TV just called and said my amp was brought back from the dead, he replaced the tubes. so it looks like I'm not gonna switch them out with JJs yet. I might later on but for now its all good.

I just took it in yesterday and they said a minimum of two weeks and it might be ready this afternoon! and it was under the $65 quote. at last a bit of good luck.

Thanks for the tips JemJVM

Dear mr. Satriani,

I am writing to ask you for a huge favor on behalf of my boyfriend Ian. On June 2nd 2012 it will be his 30th birthday. (I know it’s a bit early to be writing you about that now, but you never know how long it will take for this e-mail to reach you among all those other fan mails). He’s absolutely mortified at turning 30. Why, I don’t exactly know. But because he’s feeling so bad about it I wanted to give him a huge gift. At first I thought about giving him a motorcycle, he really wants a Harley Davidson Sportster, but he wouldn’t be very happy about that because it would take away the pride of buying one himself. So I thought, what else would he be really excited about? Then I was listening to Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards and it dawned on me that it would drive him nuts if he would receive a birthday wish from you. So, the reason for my message: Would you please record a video message for my boyfriend Ian to wish him a happy birthday?

He is a guitarist himself, has been playing for nearly 20 years, and is very talented (if I may say so myself). He’s a big fan of your work. Has all your albums. And has been greatly influenced by your style of playing. So it would mean the world to him if he would receive a message from you for his birthday, while it would cost you less than 15 minutes to record something.

I hope this request reaches you and you will want to help me to reduce his disappointment at turning 30. If you choose to do so, I'll provide you with an address to send it to.

With gratitude,

Yours sincerely,

Anja

Does it matter if I replace the pickups one at a time, I ordered the Mo'Joe but I am gonna wait a while before getting the PAF Joe and Pro Track pickups.

that way I only spend $80 right now instead of $200.

Is this a good idea or not. Hopefully its not a big deal.
