We've had a wee bit of rain. Glad my neighborhood was okay. Sucks for a lot of people though.

My daughter wrote this when she was just 12 years old ~ after September 11, 2001.

Don't ever fool yourself into thinking children don't understand what's going on. They're much wiser than we think they are. Her class made a book of poems and sold them to give the proceeds to the victims of 9/11. I gave a copy to the local fire company, and I sent a copy of her poem to Joe.

It's gonna be a tough day for a lot of people tomorrow. So many are heartbroken and feel it like it was yesterday. Such harsh memories and feelings of despair. It's still so heavy.

Worst day ever IMO.

'nuff said.

Things were so different 10 years and a day ago.

On T2J there was a lot of good and a lot of bad during the first few days of September 2001, from that hilarious I Believe (In Ice Cream) parody to one of us losing a relative in a car crash. And then Joe posted a story about how he would never again complain about little things like a broken toe. My perspective on life changed when I read that, just as it probably did for others here, and then it changed for everyone everywhere just a few days later...

((HUGS))

Al, it's Irish, figure it out :-)

Not watching ANY 9/11 programs on tv. To much man. To much. I remember, and I saw it as it was happening. I don't have to see it again.

Last night while putting our groceries in our car, we look up to see some yahoos in a loud white pick up truck going past the front of the store with a giant Confederate flag blowing in the wind - like a fucking rally cry for hatred on the eve of 9/11. Some people are just so pathetically sad. I do hope they drove that truck into the right part of city, but I bet their little balls would never go that far. That would be a challenge, to which they would not survive.

There's a couple of shows tonight on TV about a handful of people who lost people on 9/11. Over 10 years the progression was from grief, anger, heartache, helplessness to hope, healing and moving on. I bawled my eyes out, Mr Skip kept up the tissue supply. We'll be in NYC on Sept 23 and we'll visit the memorial to pay our respects.
Its our turn for a tour Joe!!

Flight 93 was on last night. Its so sad, those people are heroes. They deserve a hero's memorial. Thank you for your sacrifice, you will never be forgotten.

Ten Words-Joe Satriani

"This is the only song on the album that goes back a ways. I wrote it on the piano, the day after the 9/11 attacks. It wound up in a pile of old manuscripts. I hid it there on purpose I think, it was too heartbreaking to work on." -Joe Satriani

I've been out walking, for hours, I got something on my thighs...

How did it get there? Where is it going? ....

I forget the rest, but....I Believe In Ice Creammmmmmm!

Ahh well, Joe sings it better than me anyways :-)

HA! Hearing Joe sing I BELIEVE reminds me of when I got my I Believe tattoo. I took Joe's tape to play in the shop while getting tattooed. I wanted to turn the guys in the shop on to a little Satch, and also wanted to let the tattooist get an idea behind what he was putting in my skin. All through the song, every time Joe would sing I Believe, Barry the tattoo guy would also sing I Believe!!! Very loudly! It was hilarious! We saw Joe play on his birthday eve that year at the Beacon in NY. Such an amazing day! We met up with a few T2J'ers & also got to meet Joe's lovely mother Katherine. After the show I had Joe write I Believe on my arm above my angel tattoo with the intent to get it tattooed the next day. lol! I don't think I've ever seen Joe so nervous. LOL! Anyways, it wore off by the next day, so I picked a nice font & had it tattooed on later that week. That was the show that I still hold most dear to my heart (2nd being AC 8/09). It was July 14, 2001

Date: Tue Sep 11 20:41 Joe Satriani: ...I am still overwhelmed with sadness and anger over today's tragic events... My prayers go out to all the families who have suffered today......My praise to all the emergency relief workers in NY, DC and PA who are risking their lives to save others... Yes, I am from New York, and that makes it feel worse, to see a city I love so much, and have a connection to, take such a brutal hit.... My family and most of my friends in the middle of it managed to get home eventually, but not unscathed... I wait to hear from the others... I hope and pray that some kind of peace will come of this. But, I know that first there will be hell to pay... Joe...

P. Lily, the band silly stringed Joe at the end of the show, and we all sang happy birthday to him. Is was so much fun!

Danny, I was thinking earlier, and the only two things I could remember Joe saying about this day was "not unscathed" and "hell to pay".

Since everyone needs some cheering up today, how bout we talk about our favorite "Joe moment" - either at a show, or not! I know Joe's heart is aching today as well, so let's get some good positive vibes flowing up in here!

Let's get a good Joe mojo flow going!!

But first...2:35 to 2:59...DUUUUUUDE!!!

NEXT!!
