This morning I looked in the mirror & saw a 2" gray hair standing straight up on top of my head. I left it there to entertain the rest of the world.

Hi Everyone.

I'm doing alright, hope everyone is doing well to. About a week and a half ago, I went 'overboard' and got sick. I was dehydrated pretty badly, due to work, running, karaoke, and probably not much rest. Luckily, I got over it within 48 hours, and been trying to squeeze some naps in, when I get off work or doing any business errands or running.

Running is coming along good. I signed up for my fourth marathon this year, which I'll be heading to Concord, Michigan on October 9th. It's going to be a hilly one. As for my other races, they are coming along well. I placed 1st in both my age divisions in the last two races I ran in. My times are very consistent this year. I have a 5K this upcoming Saturday, third race this month.

Next Tuesday, I'll be competing in my first karaoke final, along with eight others. I've been thinking of what to sing for the finals. I did do Michael Jackson's, "Billie Jean" in the first prelim and I secured a spot in the final (two of the three judges gave me perfect scores). I was thinking of doing that again or doing Bryan Adams, "Run To You." I try to be eclectic to music, but I lean towards the rock (modern or classic), pop, and 80s. Here is a small list of songs I've sang:

867-5309/Jenny (Tommy Tutone); Rehab (Amy Winehouse); Doctor! Doctor! and Hold Me Now (Thompson Twins); Bad Case of Loving You and Addicted to Love (Robert Palmer); Drive (Incubus); I Believe In a Thing Called Love (Darkness); Serenity (Godsmack); and Bother (Stone Sour)

I also thought about doing more Billy Joel, and trying some Maroon 5, Rush, Toto, and The Police. Any other suggestions, feel free to throw them out there.

Peace Lily: Thanks for posting that link about the Indiana State Fair. A friend of mine showed me some pics on her phone and it was shocking. One of my friends from high school knew one of the victims that died there, Alina BigJohnny was her name. She is from Fort Wayne here and was going to start her first teaching job last Monday. A lot of people are accepting donations to start a fund in her name.

Fireman: Condolences to you and everyone.

Michelle: Happy Belated Birthday

Talk to you later peeps, got some running to do.

Grant

Did you know . . . Triple Double Oreo's now available in most stores?

The Triple Double consists of three Oreo chocolate wafers separated by layers of vanilla and chocolate cream.

hi Joe!

I have a musical problem about the dominant scales for example phrygian lydian aeolian etc. If we take the ionian dorian etc the normal ones which are basically all the Ionian theyre actually all a major scale i mean d dorian is c major. now my problem: the E phrygian dominant scale is actually an A harmonic minor, so harmonic minor. than there is the lydian dominant: for example the C lydian would be G major with the minor 3., so melodic minor. Aeolian dominant is also some melodic minor scale. i dont really get why we basically take different scales and call them x Dominant. I dont know if there is any relation between those scales. Its just driving me crasy. i would really to appreciate it if you would be so kind and help me with that, i am asking you because i saw it in one of your online lessons on youtube.

Thanks Tamas :)

Tamas, If a scale has both a major 3rd and a minor 7th the term dominant is used to point this out. The exception being Mixo-Lydian... Joe

Musicians know their technical vocabulary alright. When teachers and students speak the same language it helps! Don't know how long it takes for a music student to learn all the technical vocab.......maybe two or three years? Just guessing.

BTW--Tracie, Michelle, Peace Lily, Austin and Skippygirl thank you all for the birthday wishes. I had a good day going for walks, window shopping and my hubs treated me to dinner.

Joe, Thanks for BIG FOOT. It sounds bold and funky. I like it!
