HEY JOE!!!! I have a very important question about the JS100 and the JS1200. Now I have a very nice JS100 that I was lightly considering about installing a Sustainiac pickup to. But I went on some forum and found a guy who said that when he installed the Sustainiac in to his JS100, he needed to slightly enlarge the guitar cavity to make it a little bigger to fit everything. And you had a Sustaniac pickup in one of your JS1200 for the recording of Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards. So I was wondering......Did you have to get the guitar cavity customized for the extra equipment, or is JS1200 completely compatible with the pick up???

If anybody else knows please don't hesitate to answer.

I'd concur with a bit of that too, Sammy does my head in sometimes! and the lyrics... hmm

If J.S wasn't in it I wouldn't really be interested in it at all... Seems like Joe just has a few riffs and ideas that didn't make instrumental songs or the solo cd's sends em around and Sammy who writes some shizzle over it... Chad's awesome enough on the drums to fill in the beats and Mike keeps the low end straight enough!

Some bits have their moments but not the biggest fan of it... Come closer has an awesome solo though 8)

Hi Master Satriani ! I´m one of the biggest fan of yours, and I wanna know if you´re still giving lessons... How can I learn directly from you? I´m a great fan of your music style, but here in Brazil is very difficulty to find a great teacher. Do I must pay to have your lessons? What can I do to have this honor? Thanks for your attention and cheers for all your band. And keep doing the great job even better, always, as you are ;).

Hi peeps....I loved the show last night. Makes me want to go to San Francisco for the road test show, hmmn? It is cool to see Joe having so much fun , the new album rocks! It is too bad for you if you don't like it. Why do people come here to bitch about it?

BTW...RTF was awesome , Stanley Clarke is a monster on that stand up bass! Chick jammed with Dweezil and everyone else in the band cep the drummer. Zappa's band came out for the last song [School Days] and had a big jam session. The lighting was dim but I took a few good pics , will share when I get them uploaded.

Peace Lily...have you every had the yellow Hermiston watermelon...OMG , just had my first taste...mmmm

Blue Moon sums it up perfectly... if Joe was not a part of CF, I would have had zero interest. Regardless of Joe, after CF III, I'm out.

Pip55 The jsx is a modern amp . i only played one a couple times it belonged to a friend . some guys love em think they are fantastic . they do have a good clean for sure .. the crunch was brittle to my ear .

Diezel's are a who different beast .. a friend of mine has a vh4 and a herbert .. these are monsters .. the cleans are so crisp and clear reminds me of a piano .. and the crunch can be as brutal as anything you have ever heard .. that said it can do blues if you take the time to dial it in ..

jemjvm it's good to see your up to your old tricks again so soon . a leopard can not change his spots .. I had hoped you changed after your hiatus .. but you did not .

Cube _ Thx to share your knowledge.

I think it's harder to get good tone with Marshall than with Mesa. I'm currently working onto the VM (KT66 as you know). That's a long way bro.

Jemjvm _ If you don't like the debate, don't debate. Especially if you take personnal offense at questions about material, and not about you. Now, if you think that the JVM gets the Marshall dna, believe me or not, but you are wrong. That's as simple as that. That's not question of loving or not the JVM.

Zenfish I love the VM its the only new marshall that sounds good for what i am looking for in an amp .. but the new EVH 5150 iii 50 watt is a monster i might need one .. i got to try it in jan/11 at the launch with mr swinghard dialing it in for me .. that was a trip i was never so nervous in my life

Cube _ Yeap.. being face to face with the ultimate swing & heavycrunch player dialing in his own amp for you.. damn..

About 5150 amps, i remember that Joe said once here that he used one for the Crystal Planet album.. & lot of people consider this album as a master piece (even if joe says that he doesn't think that one of his album is a master piece).. so..

I think we can consider that Marshall has done an historic mistake : to let EVH going with Peavey. It's done.

Well, I missed both of the webcasts because I was working :(.... HOWEVER, I got the CD yesterday! Liking it so far... With the first CF cd I listened to it once, then not again for a long time then took it out and was really blown away. This one I need to warm up to but so far liking it! Absolutly LOVE Come Closer. VERY heartfelt and powerful song. Everything about it. I would love to have the backingtrack to this song. Joe your playing in this just digs right into the soul! LOVE IT!

Heyyyy I picked a good time to log on for the first time in months I see!!

All I really know about amps is that I own a 50W Bugera and I am changing dials and knobs and pedal settings pretty much every time I turn it on. I don't think I've sounded the same twice.

Now, this new album.... It didn't 'hit' me right out of the box like the first one did, but I kind of like that. I remember them saying they wrote that album to play it live, and it was reflected in the songs. I definitely agree with the guys that III is much deeper, meatier... I wouldn't say darker or heavier, but there's definitely more meaning behind it. I can tell that the boys put more work into it. To me, it is the polar opposite of the first album, and a couple of these new songs probably won't work out well in a live setting.

I'm anxious to see if they break out any Hagar-era VH, solo Satriani, etc. so they don't have to rely on the first album so heavily again this time around...

I can sure understand different strokes for different folks with regards to the CF album. But my personal opinion is I think they all really took it up a notch on this one!!

As I went back through it last night and listened I was so impressed with Joe's guitar work. Not just with effects used, but the way the fillers were added, and the level to which they are mixed. The placement of all the little parts is just perfect...IMO.

Chad's drums have a little different tone to them. He's also not just beating the snot out of a drum kit....there's real substance in the way he laid down his parts. Gave me a very different vibe from the first cd.

Also, I am a HUGE fan of the way Mikey's bass was added to this new cd. He not only has far better bass lines, but they were brought from 20 feet behind the band to right up in the front with everyone else. No missing his bass lines on this cd, but again, I think the levels were mixed perfect. Bass adds so much to a song...but if it's stuffed so far into the background, the best bass lines just go unnoticed. And I really like the vocals. Yes, it gives it almost a more mainstream feel, but so what.

I really think Sammy also took the lyrics in the cd to a very different level. Sam seems to be a guy people really like or really don't like. The songs here have a much deeper story to them. Not just some guys who took a few weeks and threw some tracks together.

My favorite song had been Dubai Blues (And I REALLY LOVE THAT TUNE). But it's changed for me. I really like Something Gone Wrong. That song gives me goosebumps!! I love the accoustic and banjo feel with the electric filler. Feakin amazing! It's a slower tune so one you won't want to speed down the highway jammin out to....but I'm getting goosebumps thinking about the song now. It's very haunting and very well put together in my opinion. And I do really like the Untitled track on the CD. That's a good ole ass kicker right there!

Everyone certainly has different tastes. But when you really start listening to this CD closely you just have to be impressed with the music and mixing. Even if you don't like the songs....

That's my opinion anyway.
