Two great things I've come across this morning ~

I was just reminiscing that one year ago I was looking at my home from space. Trying to pick out the familiar mountains and hills, the pattern of the streams and the river valleys. The stunning beauty of our planet…an explosion of color, life, light, and motion hovering in a vast sea of darkness. Now, as I stand here looking at this beautiful Autumn landscape, with the cool breeze on my face carrying the sweet smell of the Earth, I realize this is all undetectable from space…a calm silence…space is awesome, no denying that…but space cannot come close to stirring the human spirit like standing right here…in this moment. from astronaut Douglas H. Hi Everyone.

Been really busy the last couple months. Just been busy with work almost every day, as well as my running, family and friends, and even karaoke (another karaoke contest starting next Tuesday, my second one participating). I do try to find time to relax, lol.

Thought I give you the results from my marathon. I ran the Wild Life Marathon last Sunday (morning). It was a hilly course (too many hills to keep track, lol.) Overall, my time was 3 hours, 13 minutes, and 55 seconds. Which is my best time this year. My marathon times aren't where they were the last couple years, that got me to qualify for Boston. I did finish 1st in my Age Group and finished 8th overall out of 88. I am satisfied with it.

I'll doing a couple more races this month, both on Sundays (5-Miler on the 16th, a 10K Race on the 23rd), and will be getting ready for my next marathon on Veterans Day Weekend. Been thinking about going pro, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to take a huge step; just been doing a lot of thinking.

In family news, I lost one of my Great Aunts a little more than a week ago, I believe from a stroke. The viewing and funeral went along well. I've also been helping some friends out with some issues and other business.

Karaoke is going good. I'm partaking in another karaoke contest (my second) next Tuesday. I've been adding new songs to my history. Now I need to figure out what to sing for the prelims and final, if I make it.

Chat with you later peeps; gotta run.

Grant

Got my Grooveshark faves on "play all". Jayzus, what a mix! lol! So far it played The Who, Damian Marley, Davey Knowles, Chickenfoot, Travis Barker, Godsmack, and now The Dead.

I just got a chance to read the back of the 4 cards that came with my CF III cd. Funny stuff! I don't know who is funnier. Mikey Mike the rap star asking for a Funky Bunch, Joe saying a spotted owl tastes like chicken, Chad's love for pussycats, or Sammy's favorite color. LOL!

woot!

Michelle - Voted :)

This Sunday for the Portland area people We (Earth to Ashes will be at Dante's with Witchburn and Micheal Monroe (Hanoi Rocks)

Also, Nice vid of Joe. And about the 19:19 thing I agree. there are a lot of people out there that try to throw money (gear) at the problem instead of practicing. I have always considered myself a mediocre gtr player. Based on listening to Joe, Pablo, Petrucci, insert awesome player. But when I was auditioning for a 2nd gtr I realized there are a lot of hacks out there. And maybe I don't suck as much as I thought. Joe is freaking awesome and really has no public responsibility to be uplifting. In the grand scheme of things he is still just a guy the plays gtr.

Hey Joe, I am one of your countless fans and followers, and I also happen to be applying to college. I just wanted to let you know I am using "Wormhole Wizards" as the subject of my personal statement, because that is one of my favorites.

I do have a question on your creative process (I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it, but it seems to be the only); do you just pick up your guitar and noodle until you hit something good, and then build on it? Or do you pick a particular emotion you want to convey, and then work on expressing that? Or any combination of the above? I have always wanted to be able to express myself as well as you do on the guitar, although I have a long, long way to go...

This actually is somewhat key to my essay, I hope to hear from you soon!

Rock On!

I've been doing a project on you Sir, and I was wondering, what would you exactly say your style of playing would be? With that project, I am also going to play a song. Possibly either Why or Midnight.

Idk if the last post showed up. Mr. Satriani, I am currently doing a project on you. I do a biography and then a performance of one of your songs. I was curious, what would you actually say your style of playing is? I was also thinking of playing either "Why" or "Midnight". My friend did the same thing, but he played Circles. He are actually some of my friends playing at school shows. This is the channel they're on.

Mark, of course I remember Captain Video! I ran into Ned a few years back in London of all places, it was good to see him and reminisce... The double CD "Time Machine" contains 4 of the 5 tracks originally contained on that first EP of mine. "Saying Good Bye" is included on the CD... Joe

Honest to God, I was listening to Woodstock Jam earlier tonight as well. I was trying to understand it to see if it had any deeper meaning the just being a jam.

Peace - inspired by your post I'm listening to Woodstock Jam driving home from work. I haven't listened to it in a long time. I'm with you I feel giddy.... I do like my vinyl Time Machine with the written sleeves explaining each song. And it's the only cover where Joe is dressed up in costume and not his normal clothes, unless he wears black capes at home....

Its our turn for a tour Joe!!

Hope all is well?

I hope you don't mind but I just want your permission firstly as I was thinking of setting a tribute band of your good self called Satrionics and just wanted to know if you would be cool with it?

I am based in Manchester England and wanted to do this project in dedication to your good self.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
