These list's make me wonder, what is everybody's five favorite guitarist that ISN'T instrumental. One that may be in a band. Which guitarists inspire you as a guitarist or that you just really enjoy as a listener.

Mine would be: 1:David Gilmour 2:Jimi Hendrix 3:Mark Knopfler 4:Alex Lifeson 5:EVH

What do you guys think?

Hi Joe, I'm french and i was in Olympia for your french concert the 16 of junuary. I've never heard an so horrible sound ! was it your sound ingenior ? if yes, it's time to change ! what a disappointment to not even hear you… i was so happy to hear your sound and it was just "marmelade of bass" Next time maybe

Last but not least : You should not compromise you with this singer

I agree with Domm ... I'm not the only one who heard there was a problem with the sound of your guitar, Joe. Your game was fantastic as usual, but there was a very bad acoustics ... There were too low, too much percussion. It's hard to say that, but ... we can not hear you. This was especially true during the first 3 pieces. Michael Anthony also had a problem with his microphone during the first song ... And it's Sammy who has to report it to the sound engineer !!! It seems not normal ... The show was fantastic... Energetic, lively, full of joy. I love this group, but, please, no longer play in this room with this sound engineer.

Yul, I thought I saw you ask permission to use a picture of Joe smiling for a video you were making, so I posted a picture of Joe smiling. Probably a misunderstanding. Carry on.

Al, just watched yer financial vid. Yobs is right! No answers from 'em. Just like Wall Street here. As long as their asses are covered & their getting theirs, to hell with everyone else who have to pay their debt. I hope they all piss in bed.

Favorite guitarist list is a tough one. I'll try not to go with everyone elses top 5 - Tony Rombola - Dan Donegan - Dimebag Darrell Abbott - Eric Clapton - and what's that guys name that plays in that band Chickenfoot? Joe Satarini or something?

Got some snow today. First snow of the year. Always looks so beautiful. Last snow we had was that wicked bad storm back in October. I swear every snowflake weighed 6 ounces. A little bit of snow took down trees & power lines, and had some people without electricity for a week or more. We had no power for 24 hours. No fun when it's freezing outside, and freezing inside too.

Happy Saturday peeps!

Hmm. 5 non-instrumental Guitarists this time. In no particular order, I'd have to say: EVH (Especially during the Hagar era), Angus Young, Neal Schon, Reverend Billy G, and definitely Hendrix. Pretty proud of that top 5. If the list changed to overall fav guitarists, I'd switch Angus out for Satch and call it good. I don't think I could make that list any longer; probably not a good thing. My musical palate is pretty limited I suppose, even though I have 91GB of music on this computer.

Does anybody here know if there's a picture of Joe smiling that I could use with permission for my smile collaboration video? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITBo_Yght6I)

Michelle that post was from Didierrr, it was bugging me that it wasn't Yul!

Didierrrr Michelle replied to you - here it is - here's a great pic of Joe smiling. Lots of good ones on the net. Not sure if you need permission to use a picture from the internet, but it's always nice to ask.

But Michelle will have to post the link again!

Hi everyone...

I was able to catch yesterday's sneak preview of Satchurated 3D (Thanks to mikesb for hooking me up with a ticket!), and I wanted to stop by here and share a few words about it.

In one sentence, this rivals Live In San Francisco as my favorite Satch recording.

The video is shot differently than most live DVDs I've seen, which is quite refreshing. There's no fast cutting from shot to shot, and there aren't too many extreme close-ups of band members. A lot of the cameras were positioned in a way where you see the stage edges and walls of the theater, which I thought was a nice touch. And in some of the shots from the back, you can see the heads of the people standing up front, just at the lip of the stage. So you really feel like you're in the venue watching the show. I also like how most of the shots include several band members. There were a lot of Joe/Jeff/Allen/Galen shots from one end, or Joe/Mike shots from the other end. You can see everyone doing their thing and it's great.

The 3D is not distracting at all. It's not gimmicky (no pointing of guitar necks at cameras, etc.); with the way the film was shot it really just adds to the feeling that you're in the venue. The crowd is in front, then Joe, then Jeff, then the video screens are in the back.

I love the audio mix. Mike was up there pretty high, but not so much as to distract from Joe. And Jeff's toms sound great in theater surround sound.

The version we saw was only 90 minutes long (I assume this is the theater cut that we'll all get in March), but the credits list the full setlist so the in-store release should have everything. It was disappointing that the theater edit left out some of my favorite songs (Memories, Dream Song, Why), but I'll just have to wait for that. Pyrrhic Victoria was awesome, though! :-)

And one more post, to keep other stuff separate from the DVD review...

The directors were there, and I talked to them very briefly after the screening. I told them how many Satch shows I've been to, and they almost sounded nervous (like "Uh oh, he's a big fan...I hope he doesn't think it sucks.")...you could almost hear the huge sigh of relief when I said I loved what they did with everything. ;-)

Mick (just back from Europe with Joe) and Jeff were both there, and I talked to each of them for a few quick minutes as well.

Jeff told me about a project he was working on with Peppino D'Agostino. They've done a few shows together and will have an album out soon. (I don't know if that news has made it out yet or not...?). Jeff sounded really excited when he mentioned being able to play with one of the best electric guitarists, and then moving on to play with one of the best acoustic guitarists. Very cool...

Thanks again to mikesb for the ticket...

...Austin...

Hey Joe, why havent you released the JS 7 String guitar? I think Ibanez would benifit from having your 7 string for sale. Steve has his Universe guitar, which is a great seller. Yours would be killer man. Just a thought though, a 7 string Satch Signiture.Sounds good to me.
