New way. Yesturday I was sitting on the sofa thinking about: "What new things can be done with guitar?". Actualy it took me abouut a half of an hour to get some kind of new things I can do, but I stopped on this one. I watched through a lot of guitar videos, trying to figure out how to mix some of them. And I get a theory! The main thing is that, if You take a bow like Jimmy Page, mute strings on top of the neck like Guthrie Govan and try to play arpeggio like a legato but with a bow, you'd get softer sound, than a pick 'd give you. Of course you 'd need an electric guitar. I think this 'd make any style, which needs guitarplaying technique, more interesting, and it'd be like a whole new level. What do you think?

Greetings Dr. Satch, I was introduced to your Magic in the Early 90's by a Friend who said to me at a Party"Have you ever Listened to Joe Satriani?" I replied no. She said"I could listen to him ALL Day,You have to check him out!" She then proceeded to put on Flying in a Blue dream and I must have been Bug Eyed because she laughed at me and said"See?" We listened to that Album about 5 times over the course of the night and I ran out the next day to snap up a copy. Since that day I have never looked back! You like Jimi Hendrix are an Innovator,Master Craftsman and all around Kick Ass Dude! Your Music, ability and Humbleness continue to inspire me each and everyday. You always give your Fans 150% each Time out and surround yourself with other Kick Ass Musicians! I have never seen you Live but it is definitely on my Bucket List. It is amazing to me how everytime I listen to you I pick up something new and great. I will never forget that first listen that gave me Chills and Goose Bumps. I really think you sound best Live and in the Raw. Its always a kick when I watch one of your DVDs and see the Audience with their Jaws on the Floor or big Grins that tell it all! I own one of the Earlier JS Ibanez's(Red) which is my prized possesion! I rarely play it but take it out and stare at it like it is a copy of Playboy and I'm Like 10 or something! I'll always remember thinking to myself"This Dude must be a F@#*ING Octopus! Anyway,it is a special thing to be a Satch Fan and Surf with the Alien! Take Care,God Bless and thanks for the Magic!

Much Respect BassCase

Let's hear all about it Cube!

How many people like this TATTOO better than VH's version? I do. lol!

Quote of the week from one of Demi Moore's friends to 911 dispatch "She smoked something but the reaction was accidental."

Friggin awesome!

Check out this tune. Gotta give it till after the 1 minute mark till it kicks in. I don't usually listen to people who send their music to random people, but for some reason I gave this one a listen. I dig it! Dream Theaterish without all the predictable riffs.

Still have to catch up on 3 pages here....

Just heard - school lunches are finally being overhauled...somewhat. Congress considers pizza (it has two tablespoons of tomato sauce ya know!) & french fries/tater tots "vegetables". They also consider someone making more than $250.000 middle class.

Add up the wealth of the last eight presidents, from Richard Nixon to Barack Obama. Then double that number. Now you're in Romney territory.

How does Romney stand next to a regular Joe?

He's roughly 1,800 times richer.

He's as much in touch with the middle class as we are with someone making 1,8000 x more money that we do.

And now back to your regularly scheduled white noise.

After "live in Paris", I'm totally stoked for "Satchurated". It looks extremely well shot, the mix is way better, plus I have a 3D tv to get inside the screen. It's a fun gimmick

Hey Joe!

My name is Ryan and I am from Perth, Australia. Unfortunately for the magnificent city of Perth you guys won't be coming here - So I will be coming to you and flying to Adelaide, South Australia to catch your show at Festival Theatre... I am super excited and have been a fan for many years. I purchased the VIP Platinum ticket and look forward to meeting you for the Q and A!

I remember when I first got introduced to your ultra technical brand of awesome rock music... My best friend Dave was teaching me about guitars and he played two tracks for me and I was hooked ever since!

"The Audience is Listening' by Steve Vai "Surfing with The Alien"

At first I was like this is just ridiculous (in a good way!)... how can a mere human play a guitar like this!?

Over the years as I have listened to your many recordings I have come to the realization that you are not simply just playing a guitar like no one else can - the guitar itself is like a window through to your soul as a vehicle of expression and I think that a lot of people miss the point with guys like yourself and Vai - you guys don't just play guitars fast and shred amazing solos - your an artist and your music is pure emotion!

I am a Private Chef here in Perth and only about 4-5 months ago a bride at a wedding I catered walked down the aisle to 'Always with Me Always with You' and people were like 'What song was that!" and reaching for the Shazam on the Iphone...and so began at least a few more Satch fans like myself...

Anyway Joe, I am sure you have hundreds of these messages to read so I will keep it brief and close by saying:

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope you play 'Made of Tears'

I would fly all the way from Perth to Adelaide just to hear you play this song even if that was the only song you played in a 10 minute concert - I might even be persuaded to cook for you and your band some time!

See you on April 3rd Joe, I can't wait!

Ryan John
