@Guitarman The 1000 is what i meant, its about 1100 pounds here, the 1200 is about 1700, and to be honest, from what ive heard the main difference is the pickups, which, lets face it, are gonna be pretty amazing in a high end guitar like the 1000 anyway.

As of the latest posting on Satchurated.com, the closest it will be playing to Idaho is Las Vegas. No way in hell am I making that trek to watch a movie, 3D or not. I don't even think I could justify Reno for that.....

Maybe something closer will pop up soon. Joe's last showing played in Idaho Falls, which is about 3 hours from here, and conveniently enough I see a doctor in that town. I could just reschedule my appt. and knock out two birds. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I was thinking iRig until I saw who uses Amp Kit Peter Frampton Kenny Wayne Shepherd Joel Kosche – (Collective Soul) Phil Collen

Then I thought the Satriani - Peavey thing and that’s what started the second guessing. iRig has the slow downer (slows down songs) and it seems you get more effects for your money Amp Kit you have to buy effects separately Lots of reviews say Amp Kit has better sounding amps……. Any other thoughts?

Hybes thanks for your input

Oh, what a night we had last Sunday at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. The glitz! The Glamour! SEACREST! Where do I begin?? Chillin' with Lil' Wayne...meeting Cyndi Lauper's adorable mother...the complimentary blinking Coldplay bracelet.....much too much to recap. It's really is still a bit of a blur. But, if there's one thing that I remember VERY clearly, it was accepting the Grammy for Best Rock Performance...and then saying this:

"To me this award means a lot because it shows that the human element of music is what's important. Singing into a microphone and learning to play an instrument and learning to do your craft, that's the most important thing for people to do... It's not about being perfect, it's not about sounding absolutely correct, it's not about what goes on in a computer. It's about what goes on in here [your heart] and what goes on in here [your head]."

Not the Gettysburg Address, but hey......I'm a drummer, remember?

Well, me and my big mouth. Never has a 33 second acceptance rant evoked such caps-lock postboard rage as my lil' ode to analog recording has. OK....maybe Kanye has me on this one, but....Imma let you finish....just wanted to clarify something...

I love music. I love ALL kinds of music. From Kyuss to Kraftwerk, Pinetop Perkins to Prodigy, Dead Kennedys to Deadmau5.....I love music. Electronic or acoustic, it doesn't matter to me. The simple act of creating music is a beautiful gift that ALL human beings are blessed with. And the diversity of one musician's personality to the next is what makes music so exciting and.....human.

That's exactly what I was referring to. The "human element". That thing that happens when a song speeds up slightly, or a vocal goes a little sharp. That thing that makes people sound like PEOPLE. Somewhere along the line those things became "bad" things, and with the great advances in digital recording technology over the years they became easily "fixed". The end result? I my humble opinion.....a lot of music that sounds perfect, but lacks personality. The one thing that makes music so exciting in the first place.

And, unfortunately, some of these great advances have taken the focus off of the actual craft of performance. Look, I am not Yngwie Malmsteen. I am not John Bonham. Hell...I'm not even Josh Groban, for that matter. But I try really fucking hard so that I don't have to rely on anything but my hands and my heart to play a song. I do the best that I possibly can within my limitations, and accept that it sounds like me. Because that's what I think is most important. It should be real, right? Everybody wants something real.

I don't know how to do what Skrillex does (though I fucking love it) but I do know that the reason he is so loved is because he sounds like Skrillex, and that's badass. We have a different process and a different set of tools, but the "craft" is equally as important, I'm sure. I mean.....if it were that easy, anyone could do it, right? (See what I did there?)

So, don't give me two Crown Royals and then ask me to make a speech at your wedding, because I might just bust into the advantages of recording to 2 inch tape.

Now, I think I have to go scream at some kids to get off my lawn.

Stay frosty.

Did anyone else get a reply from their senator?

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding S. 968, the Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property (PROTECT IP) Act of 2011, and H.R. 3261, the Stop Online Piracy Act. I appreciate hearing from you about this issue.

S. 968 was introduced by Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont on May 12, 2011. The PROTECT IP Act would allow the Attorney General and property rights holders to take legal action against only foreign-based websites strictly dedicated to copyright infringement and intellectual property theft. After legal action is taken and a judge finds the particular foreign-based website guilty of being dedicated to intellectual property theft, payment processors such as credit card companies and other payment systems would no longer be allowed to process payments to that illegal foreign site. It would also allow the Attorney General and intellectual property holders to seek a court order to shut down websites engaging in piracy.

S. 968 was voted out of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary unanimously on May 26, 2011. A version of this bill, H.R. 3261, the Stop Online Piracy Act, was introduced in the House of Representatives by Representative Lamar Smith of Texas on October 26, 2011. It was referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, where hearings were held.

Over the past several months, I have heard from numerous groups and individuals concerned that internet piracy destroys American jobs, threatens public safety—for example, through the sales of counterfeit pharmaceuticals—and violates the intellectual property rights of creative and innovative American artists, inventors and entrepreneurs. These diverse groups strongly supported the bill as a means to shut down foreign rogue websites that are dedicated exclusively to intellectual property theft.

More recently, I have heard from individuals who are concerned that these bills violate their right to freedom of speech, as well as from constituents concerned that they would shut down sites like Google, Wikipedia, Facebook and YouTube. I take very seriously concerns about censorship and infringing freedom of speech. Accordingly, I was pleased that the bills were removed from the Senate calendar so that further consideration could be given to these concerns.

At this point, I think it is important for all interested parties—including Internet users, technology companies and intellectual property holders—to take a step back and begin a dialogue on how to protect the legitimate rights of innovators and creative artists, and protect public safety in the face of counterfeit products, while at the same time assuring that First Amendment rights are not infringed and the further development of robust internet is not inhibited. I also look forward to new legislation being developed that appropriately balances all of these objectives. Please be assured that as this process advances, I will have your views in mind.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you.

I encourage you to visit my website, http://casey.senate.gov. I invite you to use this online office as a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office, or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania.

Sincerely, Bob Casey United States Senator

Hey guys, i got my JS1000 last night, and it is absolutely wonderful, definitely the best instrument i have ever played. I have a couple of questions:

1. How do i make the tremolo arm tighter, i think this is called the torque?

2. How do i stop the hissing noise through the amp? Do i just make the pickups lower from the strings?

3. This should be obvious, but please remind me which edge tremolo system it has..

Thanks very much :D

Dear Joe, My name is Matt Crimmins and I am a lifelong fan of yours. I have every album you have ever put out. My dilemma is I sm a sick and injured Paramedic from 9/11. My partner passed away that day and I sold my Ibanez JS1000 so I could donate the money to his 5 year old daughters college fund. It took me over 3 years to save for that guitar and now I'm on perm disability due to emphysema from the debris down there, extensive nerve damage to my shoulder, PTSD, depression, and survivors guilt. I also suffered a massive heart attack on the 10th anniversary. I also forfeited my Zadroga act that now the money that was going to me will go to his daughter. Is there anyway you can find it in your heart to replace the one thing in my life that brought me any kind of happiness. When I play, especially your music it puts me at peace. Please Mr. Satriani, I am not a fraud and woukd gladly show u my medical records. You woukd make this medic the happiest person on the face of the earth. Thanks for reading this and I sincerely hope you can help me where no one else can. Love and Respect for the greatest guitarist who ever lived. Sincerely and Respectfully, Matt Crimmins 50 Garfield Ave Sayville, NY 11782 631-218-8555 Mc911medic@aol.com God bless you Joe and keep the stellar music coming. Take care my friend.

The animal in Firefox is not actually a fox!

It’s actually a red panda! Slightly larger than a domestic cat, the red panda is native to the Himalayas and western China. Many assume that the animal in the Firefox logo is a fox, yet Firefox is actually the nickname for the rare panda species. Eating mostly bamboo, it is currently classified as “vulnerable” by IUCN because of its dwindling population.

Because you needed to know.
