Hey Joe,

Great show at Palais Theatre in St Kilda last night. However, and i mean no disrespect, the sound at the Palais was very bad. Initially we had seats almost right up the top back, and the sound was very muddy. It was quite hard to actually hear what you guys were playing. we went down stairs and tried standing next to the sound desk, and was a little better, but not enough to make think I should have bought tickets in the lower level.

It was a disappointment, seeing as though me and my friend flew all the way from Perth just for the concert.

Anyway, just letting ya know.

Peace. Take Care.

Geoff

Little Gemma is now off life support and on to the HDU. She's moved her arms a little and actually sipped a little water through a straw. A long hard road lies ahead but at least she's on the mend.

Joe if your reading this, I have a really important question that's been on my mind all day!!!!

Clouds Race Across The Sky- This song blows my mind on so many levels. The chords being played are C Lydian and then.......B??? The way the chords are shaped it suggests that the songs is in E minor. While there is no resolution the bass goes from C to B in the chords. The fifth in E minor is B which of course makes it a comfortable note to land on when playing the scale. But later on in the beginning melody, you borrow notes from B Lydian, while still playing E minor. D# and A# are not normally in E minor, but are in B Lydian, making it feel like you are playing both at the same time. Not only that, but you land on F#, which both scales mentioned before share. But here's the thing.........F# is the fifth for B Lydian, making that another good note. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT KEY THE SONG REALLY IS IN!!!! IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!! How do you do it, Joe?!

Hi Joe, i dont know your music very well but ive read about you, i created a music video to Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) uploaded to youtube

In short it uses live video footage of Jimi plaing Vodoo Chile Synchronised with the original studio recording along with what i feel to be additional relavent footage.

I start my description of the youtube track link with this Quote by you;

*Joe Satriani" listed this as his favorite guitar solo: "It's just the greatest piece of electric guitar work ever recorded. In fact, the whole song could be considered the holy grail of guitar expression and technique. It is a beacon of humanity."

Its an amazing quote by you

Its only been up for 2 months and has become very popular very quickly & i would love it if you would maybe find the time to watch it, read my description & if at all possible give me your honest opinion... Thx

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CZmQ5wGE2E

I also think 'Machine Gun' on the band of gypsies album is incredible & plan to make a video to that

Thanks Joe for returning to Australia, your two shows in Melbourne were spectacular. Met some great fans both nights waiting outside for the Platinum and just before the gigs. The q&a was too quick, I have a great photo of myself with you and Steve.but thanks and hurry back for a solo tour soon. The Palais is a great venue, I thought the sound wasn't too good for SL set but by the next night it was fine. My ears are still ringing Monday morning......till next time...

Good on ya Skippygirl.. just saw that "hello" pic... I've seen G3 several times and know just how amazing it is to see them in action, onliest thing better (for a bigtime Joe fan anyways) is a full-on Joe assault, like Satchurated.

I dunno about Joe breaking strings too often, but I'm sure Steve does quite a bit, watch For the Love of God live, he really wails on the whammy bar. Gotta break a couple string that way!

The last I HEARD of Joe breaking a string was during the filming of G3: Live in Tokyo. I think he broke his first "e" string during "War". He talks about it during the special features. I think he said he was trying to bend it up to a high F. Obviously you don't see it on the DVD because they stopped the show and re-started the song. But that is when he broke a string. Probably his last during a performance, too.

Any Metallica fans in the hizzouse?? I bought their CD, "Beyond Magnetic" which contains 4 tracks from the Death Magnetic sessions but were not released on the original CD. I've gotta say, they are pretty kick-ass! (IMO). Lemme see if I can find them on Youtube..

Just a Bullet Away. (My Fav). That one has links to the other three!

Enjoy!

Ian

Just got a surround system for my house and boy have I missed blasting Joe like this! So freaking amazing! It puts me in such good moods!

My step brother just got married on the 31st. I am bummed I didn't get to make it, but happy for him! Rather interesting, he met the girl online, she lived in sandpoint, as most of you know that's where I was living in idaho, any way, the girl he married just so happens to be Best friends with my dads, girlfriends sister... Make sence? Funny how things happen. Ha. Oh and my step brother I am talking about is the son of the family that adopted me when I was 16. No relation to my dad.

Experience Hendrix Tour Photos

TurboIan, I bought that Metallica cd, as well as the new Anthrax Worship Music cd a few weeks ago. Love 'em both! I posted The Devil You Know from Anthrax a while back. Killer cd! Haven't listened to the Metallica cd as much as Anthrax, but I dig all 4 tracks :-)

All 4 songs from Metallica

Another good cd Adrenaline Mob - Omerta Undaunted is my fav song from that cd. Jayzus, that vid makes me smile! Russ Allen is so f'n massive! He can move for a big dude too!

FFS, if you're a friend of mine better fall out fast! Just found out my mate Les has had a massive heart attack, he's probably not gonna survive but we're all praying he does. He was down (peeps giving CPR) for about 15 minutes before the paramedics arrived, then another 20 before they took him to hospital where he has had two stents put in and he is presently in an induced coma. We were having a few beers in the club and I left earlier than usual cause my wife was tired, I would have like to have still been there to help but wouldn't have liked to see him collapse like that. First little Gemma, now Les, I can only hope no-one makes up the hat trick.
