Check out Mr Fastfinger. Pretty much blew my mind first time I listened to his first album, "Way of the Exploding Guitar". Have just had a similar experience on listening to his new album. Seriously cool musician, very inventive :-]

Hi Joe I’ve enjoyed your playing so much over the many years (thank you), and also a big fan the two Steves who you played with at the recent G3 concert in Wellington. However, my friends and I were dismayed at the incredibly loud volume of the concert; it was so loud, that most of the time your guitar lacked expression, subtlety or dynamics. There was very little separation between instruments most of the time - just a wall of distortion. I was a rock musician and recording engineer for a number of years, and know when sound is dangerously loud. I had to leave the main auditorium for the last half hour, and watch through the foyer doors (even though I had ear plugs). It's a shame that rock concerts have got so loud over the years; the PA system looked like it was meant for an outdoor arena! Thanks for listening. Robin

Hi all,

i would like to ask a little question to joe or may be to mike manning if he read this!

i would like to know about the settings of the guitar .What is the height of the strings from the neck? What is the height of the two pickups from the body of the guitar. Is it the same setting for all the guitars of Joe?

bye friends

G'day all ,beck home after my Canberra trip and Guitar hero experience ! zardoz1 I don't think it was too loud in our venue , they did take a while to find that spot tho, once they did it was good, and me being on an angle probably didn't help , but had a good time anyways

now home back to normal..what ever that is

hey Joe, do you ever get time off? to go home and spend time with your family? i gather you have kids, not being rude anything but looking at your gigs you always seem to be on the road.. I guess would be the same thing for Steve Vai too... hope some times you get home, not till Skippygirl gets to see you tho :-)

oh and this on the site too

We do aftershow pass giveaways for all shows except festival and special events out of our control, so after you've got your satriani.com account set up and have bought your tickets, go to edit show attendance to enter!

so must have been out of there control.. strange.. anyways..

Just returned from SATCHURATED.. What can I say, Satch at his best , great songlist ( could be listed by some of us), nice audio BUT from a photographer and movie fanatic i can say that this is one of the worst movie about a concert I ever seen, director and the genius who had the idea of the 3D must spent some time in jail... Absolutely terrible, 3D ?? visible only thanks to some bald head in the crowd... Special mention and maybe nominated as best : the satch's MIC STAND present (and in 3d!!!)in every frame of the concert....

From Joe's FB Status......in case ya missed it

Allen Whitman Blog

an entertaining and amusing read (& pics)......about the tour down under thus far.

A nice mention by Allen about Jeff C.

QUOTE- " The Key to Happiness in any jam session is a great drummer. Every musical event onstage is survivable through the graces of the real thing. I’ve been blessed with many great drummers; but Jeff Campitelli continues to astonish me. Playing with Jeff is like floating on a pillow of groove. I’m buoyed up and that swing pushes me inexorably forward until the rock and roll hammer drops. Sometimes, during our performances, I have to master the urge to fling myself bodily at something." nice to see Jeff get a lil recognition.

OMG! The morning after......
G3 Newcastle Panthers.
Meet and Greet:
What a couple of level headed, down to earth individuals. Joe and Steve started the whole G3 experience with some great laughs and stories. It's amazing how some simple questions can lead into some fantastic stories and an amazing insight into their thoughts and lives. Thanks Guys, for taking the time to hear/see the masses...
The show:
Steve who? Oh, that's right, Lukather. Walked into the show, not knowing much about Lukather, but walked out with a great appreciation for the man. Sure he's no Satch or Vai, but very talented and eager to please. Steve came out to warm the place up with about 5 tunes. I have no idea of the names of the songs, but the one he dedicated to his departed brother, was to say the least, brilliant.
Mr. Vai... What can you say about this man that hasn't been said before. If you want entertainment, this is the man to see. Never shy on stage and always keen to pose for a photo. The moment Vai started playing, the vibe in the whole place changed. Sitting in the center of the front row, you could feel the sound hit you like a sudden breeze just came out of nowhere, leaving the biggest smile on my face, knowing exactly what I'm in for. Sorry I can't name the set list for Vai, but I'm sure somebody will come good on that one sooner or later.
Time to get Satchurated.. Bring out the man himself....
Ice 9
Flying in a blue dream
Satch Boogie
Secret Prayer
Crystal Planet
God is Crying
Always With Me...
Surfing With The Alien
I know this setlist is correct, I'm reading it from the one in front of me, that I got from the stage. I really don't think there's much to say about Joe's performance, except the man is a legend. There are no outstanding points to mention here, as he's whole performance was incredible.
The Jam... wow, wow, wow. each and every performer on stage held their own. Even Lukather was mixing it up with the boys and deserved to be there. Granted, I don't think he was as good as the others, but that's not taking anything away from his performance, the man rocks....
My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama
Little Wing
Rockin In The Free World
{br} As for me, my goodie pack from the night....
JS100 headstock signed by Joe
Pink Flying V Ukulele signed by Vai
G3 2012 Tour shirt
VIP Laminate
Joe's setlist from the stage
A guitar pick from all three guys - only Joe's and Vai's made it home
Over 100 awesome photos from the front of the stage
Memories of one of the best nights I can recall...

Oh, Michelle, no hat on Joe all night. Mind you he was wearing a black beanie at the meet and greet.
