Hi Joe. What about a concert i Scandinavia and Bergen Norway especially. Many fans and guitarplayers here, check out madseriksen.com.

A Joe Satriani concert in the old town Bergen, at the old castle/ fortress i the centre of town, midnightsun and views over the sea and the mountains would be something you and the fans would never forget. Check out the venue her http://www.forsvarsbygg.no/festningene/Festningene/Bergenhus-festning/Se-hva-som-skjer/ and bergenlive.no.

Well it's been close to two months since I went to the G3 concert and I posted on this forum, to which I received no response.

I asked them to turn it down and they wouldn't. I told them i would leave if they didn't and I should have kept to my word instead of allowing them to convince me to stay.

Now my hearing is wrecked. I can't play guitar anymore because I can't stand the constant ringing in my ears. It's destroying my career as I can barely hear people in meetings anymore.

My girlfriend cries almost everyday because she feels so bad for buying the tickets and has seen the affect it has had on my life. She regrets not leaving when I tried yelling to her that it was too loud.

When will someone start taking some serious action against the organisers of these concerts who insist on setting the volume level at unsafe levels. There is no excuse for this. This is a choice that a sound engineer made to set the volume at a an unsafe level. This information is well documented in tons of literature about what is a safe level for noise exposure.

This hearing damage was not from machinery in a factory that someone had to work with. This is a recreational event that we paid good money to attend.

So what now.. 2 months of ringing in my ears, and all the doctors can say is live with it.

People wake up. Don't think that wearing ear plugs is going to protect you it won't. Not at those noise levels. I wore ear plugs the whole time at the concert and I thought it would protect me and it didn't.

Geoff, that's some sucky news. I know I lost a bit of hearing through CF - also with ear plugs. I think my ears were ringing for 2 or 3 days after. I got better ear plugs now. Ones made for music, so maybe that will help the next time...?

Joe!!!

I've been a fan for about 20 years now and finally got my hands on a used 1993 Ibanez JS100, which I'm in the process of upgrading and restoring.

Once it is done I'd like to know how I can go about getting it signed, if possible ;D Even if this includes having to ship it somewhere, pay for the return shipping etc., please let me know if this is possible.

Cheers! Paul

Hey Joe, just wanted to let you know that Is There Love in Space? is one of my favourite albums of yours. I did an album cover for it as a part of my college thesis project. Check it out if you've got a moment: http://alexrodway.blogspot.ca/2012/03/music-is-great-part-2.html

Thanks for rockin' so hard!
