If you haven't already, get over to Dave Weiner's site and check out/buy his new acoustic cd. It sounds amazing!

Anybody hear the clips yet? Opinions?

Mr. Satriani,

I have been a lifelong fan of your work and particularly obsessed about the G3 concerts. After these many years, it is universally regarded as the place to be for the elite guitar-players. Keeping its unique heritage and pedigree in mind, I'd like to suggest the name of Michael Angelo Batio for his inclusion in these tours. We fans have had this dearest wish to see all three of you on one stage, and on behalf of them I'd like to place this request in your hands. Please give this your kind consideration.

- Your well-wisher.

A lot of people are clamoring to get their Master Satriani recording up before the deadline. Not me. I know I'm definitely not going to be able to play Joe's songs.

But I will say I would have a fair chance at a Master Gilmour contest. lol Here's my Time solo cover I just put up.

I believe this is what Joe is looking for in this contest..folks who can make the song there own instead of just carbon copying Joe's licks Revelation not that I haven't seen some good ones..I just think maybe he wants some unique grooves..

Just my opinion but the whole song is changed other then the backing by the sounds! I think the origional song would sound better covered then changing the whole song!

I agree, I think people got "Original performance" mixed up with "original composition" because half the people in the contest aren't playing a Satch song, its their own stuff on the backtrack.

for the record, this master class with satriani contest is totally making the 15 year old in me come out again haha I'm seriously loving each and every performance I've been watching.

I'll agree on the rules being somewhat vague too...my interpretation of the rules was "joe's songs"...you can't really have a song with out melody so I assumed his playing lead wise was part of the arrangement!

at any rate...great stuff from around the country~ great job, to everyone!

agreed..please believe..no disrespected intended to anyone..we all interpret Joe's stuff differently it's all good to me..we'll see who Joe picks i'm sure..he knows what he's gonna do..I never said the vids I posted should be picked..just that there are tons of people that play his stuff note for note on a track..

Was supposed to go see Eric Johnson last night but I just didn't have it in me to go stand up for that long last night... I'll bet I missed a hell of a show. Anyone seen him this tour? I've got tickets to see Buckethead, Steve Vai and ZZ Top this Summer/Fall.
