Thought of the day -

A starting firefighter in Detroit earns only $30,000 a year. There have been no raises for 10 years. Most members of the brigade have to supplement their incomes with second jobs.

The lowest paid player on the Detroit Lions - Aaron Berry - CB - has a salary of $415,000 for 2012. Their QB - $11,500,000.

I guess Burn is a good name for this movie.

SMV - that put a smile back on my face. :-)

Hey all :) I'm still on cloud 9...the insight I was given seriously saved me about 10 years of experience. Every single winner was awesome! We all grouped up in typical satch fan mode and made an evening that we shall not soon forget...

Joe...as always. I'm truly blessed...to have my guitar hero become my guitar teacher for an evening...just wow. I gotta be honest though...I was relieved to hear all the details you consider as most if the time I'm thinking about these things...I'm thinking I'm a bit looney haha! Overtone series and how the proximity effect makes it a dangerous game...thank you for that peace of mind haha!!

Joe, thanks again for an amazing master class! Your an excellent teacher. I can see why you've had so many successful students who all speak so distinctively on their instruments. It was a total blast!!!

I'd like to say hello to everyone on the forum. My names Dave, and I've thought of joining for a while. Matt King persuaded me to check the TTJ community out! He had a lot of nice things to say! :)

Add another Dave to the page. Welcome Dave!

It takes a minute, but the cam finally lands on Joe. I can't believe that was 14 years ago. I came onto t2j during the first G3 and I remember Joe giving us details for what to expect from the new album - Crystal Planet. Any dinosaurs out there remember that? The Time Machine background that took forever to load, and went on forever. lol! Pages? We didn't need no stinkin' pages!

I just got back from having dinner in West Hollywood with matt king, his fiance, and Evan (from way back in the Un-List days). It was great to talk about Satch and music and everything for a few hours...thanks guys!

Aaand I got to see (and strum!) the SWTA guitar that he won as part of the contest. Pretty cool...

He's headed home dark and early tomorrow morning...I'm sure he'll have more say about his week soon enough...

...Austin...

Tracy! Thanks :) I am indeed engaged to an amazing woman.

Now...last night was probably one of the coolest dinners I've ever had. Had dinner with Austin Lewis, Evan Brown, and of course my fiancé and her friend. One thing I have to say...there is no better fan community than Joe's. We had an awesome time talking guitar, satch, and even got to catch up on our own lives.

Satriani's humbleness and kindness to his fans absolutely runs down into the way the fans treat each other. I've never had a bad experience with this community and I'm just glad that 13 years later its still in tact.

David, for me it was Crystal Planet in 98'. Changed my life :) that record alone pushed me to believe I could actually do this guitar thing. Haha

Chelle, Evan sure was from Philly. We're damn near 30...

"Time flies" tears for fears- head over heels ;)

I don't have any photos myself. To be honest I'm quite camera shy these days haha!! I really should have taken some though. Was a rare occasion...

Anyone else remember the old school satch sites? Mak and Evans Satriani fan site had those amazing factoids. Morkie, Frank Taylor was probably the first dude to post a satch tab on the net. I can't get over how old I am now :) 30...getting married. Idle thoughts really. I'm a bit jet lagged but I figured you folks never mind a thought or two!
