Whoa, gave his money to a church!!!

What a horrible man. Those darn churches, always helping people that are hungry, homeless, sick.

Thanks for not responding. lol

And as far as "writing off" that half, it's just a wise acceptance that those who are brainwashed by the left cannot be reached.

But the thing is not all of that 47% is voting for Obama. Romney just assumes they're deadbeats who expect a handout from him. Disabled, retired, teenagers, and the poor make up part of this 47% who can't pay income tax, so let's just write them off as deadbeats. Yeah...thats who I want for president. Romney is scum.

My Classic Rock Magazine tribute to Deep Purple and the re-recording of Machine Head finally arrived today...did anyone else order this? Any thoughts?

Chickenfoot's cover of Highway Star is taken from the Fillmore Road Test show in 2009 that I was at with a few other T2Jers (my brother, Tracie, Chris, Brian, and Debbie...I think that's everyone?). It's great to hear a recording from this night...this gig was one of my top Joe shows for sure, and I haven't ever been able to find a bootleg of it.

I don't have time to listen to the rest of the album now, but it should be interesting...

...Austin...

Austin - I was delighted to see that our own Jimmy Barnes contributed a song to the Deep Purple tribute album, with Joe Bonamassa. It's a fantastic version of "Lazy".

I'm seeing Joe Bonamassa here on Oct 11.

Conservative and Liberal Communist and capitalist The two ends of the pendulum's swing.

What has worked in the past? What has never worked?

Republics only last as long as the population does not figure out how to use the power of government to take from one segment of the population and give to the other - Frederick Bastiat calls it "Legal Plunder" in his famous essay entitled "The Law" (written in the 1860's - a beautiful piece of work albeit a bit dated but universal truths withstand the test of time)

Once politicians successfully polarize the electorate to the degree illustrated by the posts on this bulletin board, it is only a matter of time before one of the two extremes of totalitarian government are put into power by the teeming masses.

Right now, the pendulum is at near zero velocity all the way to the left almost to the very top of it's swing - it will hover a while before it starts it non-linear acceleration toward the center and if the final blow to freedom occurs, we may see what our friends in Russia saw in 1917 - the complete arrest of movement for about 70 years with the pendulum stuck at the top left position, allowing the fractal image of history to repeat itself. The useful idiots will be eliminated by the government ensuring that they will never be able to repeat the very actions that gave victory to the despot in the first place and the scramble for bureaucratic power at the expense of the common citizen will ensue. The Oligarchy will do whatever is necessary to preserve their special status even if it means starving over 25 million human beings as Stalin did during his reign. I

If the pendulum is dislodged at the lofty position so far to the left, I fear it may swing down with a vengeance to the right and swing rapidly through the middle position until it hovers dangerously to the top right position where, if we are lucky, it will result in the NAZI style of socialism that is so egregious that the rest of the world will come to it's senses and do whatever is necessary eradicate the scourge.

Both extremes of the pendulum result in socialism - they only differ in their personality. Both are totalitarian, both result in immense human misery and both will eventually fail.

Peace and stability are present only when the pendulum swings in a short range around the middle point. It's the only time when there is any balance in the powers that drive society.

At that point, the golden goose is allowed to live by the lefties and there are still cows around to give milk. At the ends of the pendulum travel, foolish zealots kill the golden goose and then wonder where the golden eggs will come from - they kill the cow and wonder why there is no more milk to drink.

Please remember that this is just an opinion. Please do not get a posse together and try to find me or my family to torture - I have a very low tolerance for physical pain and if anything I have said offends you, I will immediately recant and swear allegiance to your side to avoid any discomfort.

But I digress...

On to the real purpose of a BB like this:

Anyone know what the outcome of that Whooznxt contest was?

Thanks!

Hi Joe, Just got back from the Marshall gig in London, What an amazing Night!!! I Loved every Second of it, and even my wife( who is not into rock music as much as I am ) had to admit she thought YOU were Awesome!! OF all the Artists that performed, You were the one that stood head and shoulders above the rest. Your rendition of Always with you, always with me was outstanding, so much so, that it was still going around my head when I woke this morning. Malsteem was Mindblowing. Gilbert was Great and all the others too!! The house band were (as expected) exceptional and The drummer, WOW what can you say!! Phenomenal does not do him justice. Every time I plug into my amp, Jim Marshall and all you guy's will be there, Inspiring me and urging me to do the best I can. Cant wait to see you again In England. My love and respect to you and your Family Peter

Hi Joe,

How great to see you again at the Marshall 50 years of loud gig!

So great to see you and Paul playing together...wish you had done that when he was supporting you a few years ago...never mind...you were fantastic as always, it was almost like Seville 92...(but with less hair on all concerned LOL ) especially as Paul did Rocky Mountain Way.

Thank you sooo much for doing the gig.

AWESOME!!

thwclw, nice post. The key to life is - everything in moderation. To swing hard to the left or right is never the answer. My beliefs follow more to the Democratic way of thinking. The greed of big business is killing America. If you are a successful person and work hard for your money, that's fantastic, It's the American dream, but you don't have to crush and destroy others to get there. When our hard earned money has to bail out Wall Street companies so they don't collapse, then they turn around and give themselves MASSIVE bonuses while people are losing their homes, businesses, families, and life dreams...I wonder how they sleep at night? These corporations manipulated the mortgage market and literally raped innocent hard working families of their American dream. I'm not talking about the yahoos who spent way beyond their means and lost everything. They reaped what they sowed. I mean the banks that covered their shit smelling contracts with rose petals full well knowing they would get that very same property back in default in a few years. It's also the huge corporations that are poisoning our foods with GMO's and spraying their crops (our food included) with Round-Up weed killer that gets into the soil and into the very plants that grow our foods. With all their manipulation of our NATURAL source of food that used to be pure and healthy as far back as 15 - 20 years ago, it is now giving more people more diseases, cancers, deformities, autism, and an entire range of health problem in epic proportions. Bigger crops, Bigger cows. More milk production, more hormones, more, more, more. The farmers are lied to, threatened, or bought out in hostile takeovers. Farmers were the heart of America. Now corporations run a lot of farms poisoning the food and animals for profitable gain. Cramming livestock into small spaces and feeding them genetically modified organisms that make them sick, and us sicker. They make more money, as we get sicker and sicker, and our kids and grandkids are born more jacked up then ever before.

The bottom line is GREED. It is the root of all evil. When people only think about themselves and what they can gain, regardless of how it may hurt others, that's not a world I want for my family or yours.

There are bad ideas and practices in both parties, just like their are bad ideas and practices in all religions. Nothing is perfect - and moderation is the key.

Let's dance

Michelle,

Here's our government at work:
Farmageddon
Big agribusiness have resources to deal with the government - small family farms do not. Family farms have personal pride in their produce and we never had the problems you cite when they were the primary source of food.
Crony Capitalism and the necessity of eliminating small business to promote socialist agenda did them in. The same way that local banks have been lured into selling their mortgages to real estate investment vehicles by the government regulations crafted to exactly that - get rid of the little guy and promote the megacorps - the big boys have the resources to support a fascist socialist government.
The last thing the government wants is productive small business!
