Pipster...we're hanging in, cuz that's about all you can do. Today we bury my dad...well...his ashes. It already feels as final as it can get but I suppose this puts some type of closure on everything. I dunno. Just plain hurts all the time and yet we've all still gotta keep going and doing. Had a family dinner at my house last night and his absence was keenly felt. Irrevocable change.

Praying for those affected by hurricane Sandy that all will be safe and find a way to pick up the pieces after.

New album in May 2013 Joe? And a world tour starting in June in the UK? That's excellent :) Definitely gives peeps something to look forward to!

Hi Tracie,

your dad had a great innings \m/^_^\m/ even though he's gone he's still your dad, it's great that you were so close :)

*hug* Leanne p.s. "innings" is a cricket term. ie: your dad hit em for 6 ;)

edit - michelle - the only reason i signed onto facebook was to enter a U2 contest on talenthouse. right now i'm addicted to a new game on there called Joy Kingdom O_o "you play, animals win". the more you play it the more $$$ goes to animal charities.

my fellow T2Jers, please check out Animals Australia's new campaign MAKE IT POSSIBLE < it's been almost 5 years since i ate pork, let's end factory farming in Australia!

It's coming right through my back yard. Not cool!

I believe it's knocking on my door right now.

Lawd hepp us! This ain't gonna be pretty.

Check this out - Soldiers of the 3rd Inf Reg. stand guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier despite the worsening weather conditions. God Bless 'em!

So far the weather picks up, then dies down a bit. Not any worse than a regular rain storm so far, but some of the wind gusts are harsh. (I'm an hour west of Philadelphia)

President Obama was talking about the people being safe during the storm. A reporter asked "What about the election?" His reply was "Im not worried about that now, I'm worried about the people."

Off NJ shore 20 ft waves with 65 mph wind gusts. I think that's a regular day for Alaskan crab fishermen?

They're saying to watch your ass on this one. Once the eye of the storm and the calm come, there's some nasty shit coming up behind it. Don't get caught outside or going somewhere, because it ain't over until they say it's over.

Be safe peeps!

Lots of confusion about UK or whole Europe tour. After new CD you'd expect he'd do all Europe since you're there, kinda...

New York live cams are fun now

Pip - yer welcome sweetie.

Flash - as long as "world" means all continents *fingers crossed*.

Got a friend in NYC in the east village and he says Sandy turned out to be a lot less ferocious than what the media was saying, apparently a tropical storm (not that a tropical storm isn't bad) rather than a hurricane. He's drinking beer and playing board games with a group of mates.

Hope everyone else is OK.

Whoa! All of a sudden the winds are here. I was dozing off on the sofa & it woke me up. Sounds pretty steady. Maybe she finally has "arrived". If this is the back end, wow! I dont think the front end was this bad.

Big Bunny and Suzi 2000, thank you. He did have a good long life and for that I'm always going to be grateful. It still just doesn't feel totally real yet sometimes...and then at other times the pain hits hard. My momma feels the same. She's very lonely without her "big fella" to take care of.

it's nice to see both you ladies posting on the board, been a very long time, esp for u Suzi. I hope all is well for both of you and guess what? Joe is coming both yer ways in 2013!! I hope you make at least one master class/show!! I'm anxious to see the rest of his tour schedule but will have to start saving pennies now if we hope to see him even once here.

Looking at the pics from New York make me sick in the stomach. God bless the first responders who risk their own lives to save others.

Since I live in PA, they were mostly showing the devastation on the coast in New Jersey, which is beyond belief in itself. Today is the first I've seen the insane amount of damage in NY. Unbelievable. It's just mind blowing how many people have been affected on the east coast. May God give them the strength to get through this.

Thanks to anyone who was thinking of me. Thinking what we were seeing happen in NJ was coming our way was so stressful. By the grace of God we were spared . There are downed trees and power outages around here. That sort of thing happens throughout the year when bad storms come through. Some areas were hit way harder than others, but nothing compares to the massive damage on the coast. It's a living nightmare.

It's a very sad day. Very sad.

Do you think God is waiting for all of those who do good for the good of mankind, or do you think he's waiting for these people who are so afraid of life they use Gods name to spread hate and fear. Paaa-thetic.

MJK, are you back in Jersey? Hope you're okay. Gotta throw Rich an email and see how he's doing. Hope you guys are good.

Wow, i don't know why this shocks me, but it does. Blaming Obama for responding to Hurricane Sandy to quickly? Seriously?? This is the LAST guy who should ever throw a stone in that direction.

Obama started hurricane Sandy

I can see it in his eyes

I don't think any new-born kids will be called Katrina or Sandy any time soon

Ugh its one of those things. I respect romney for helping out and volunteering, but the question is why is he doing it? Is he doing it out of kindness or is he doing it so people will vote for him? Especially after paul ryan's bogus "volunteering" photo op. I am always skeptical when I see someone running for an election doing charity or volunteering.

Forgive me please, but I really enjoy this

MattS, "The Red Cross does not accept donated goods, however. As its website explains, “Items such as collected food, used clothing and shoes must be sorted, cleaned, repackaged and transported, which impedes the valuable resources of money, time, and personnel.” So, despite Romney’s best intentions, his campaign’s relief efforts will provide little more help to hurricane victims than Paul Ryan’s infamous soup kitchen stunt provided to Youngstown, Ohio’s homeless."

They know nothing about services for people in need.

Romney's side can only win by theft and deception. Pretty bad when a company CEO calls him out for blatantly lying merely for his political advancement I guess everyone's "eye may be off" when they look at a campaign that has been full of flat out lies and deception that have been proven to be just that time and time again.

If you thought 8 years didn't dig a big enough hole under GW - you better learn the words to this bitch, cause it's what yer all gonna be singing.
