DId you ever play guitar at woodin Ships in Sea cliff long island? It was a small bar that a lot of rock guitarist used to play at many years ago. I remember seeing a guitarist there many many years ago. He said he had 8 years experience at tha time and he looked a little like you. I told him he was awesome. I think he played a Jeff beck song and maybe the rover - its been a long time.

P.Lily, thanks. She was in pain today. The drainage tube in her side was bothering her and she was pretty uncomfortable. She's also giddy in the belly, so she's mainly eating crackers. I hope she feels better tomorrow. They want her up walking at least 6x a day so she doesn't get any blood clots. They gave her a shot of blood thinner in her belly this morning because she was to sick to walk much yesterday. Now, she's walking no matter what. lol! She said that shot hurt like a b*tch!
The Grammys were actually almost decent this year! The Bob Marley Tribute was very cool. Ziggy & Damian should have gotten much more stage time though. Damian's dreads are so friggin long! That's a lifetime of hair! They gotta weigh a few pounds being all the way to the floor ffs!

Just bought tickets for the show in 013-tilburg; I am really looking forward to that event. But if there is one phenomena I would like to sense it must be the start of the tour in Istanbul. Because when the first notes of Asik Veysel will blend in the arena, I am sure it will electrify the crowd and transcend the audience and band to new levels. East meets west, west meets east right there in Istanbul. For a moment or two no longer old borders will hold their lines. Nothing stops me to go and watch though...

I have been a massive fan of your music and was so inspired that I finally took the challenge up of learning guitar 12 years ago.There are not many teachers in the remote area of Scoltand I live in but thanks to your lessons and others on the Internet, I'm still making progress. I wrote a piece called "Remembering Then", a "Celtic" ballad type melody that was truly inspired by your classic Always with Me..." I used a keyboard & drum machine for accompaniment. While its a simple song (technically) I have had some good feedback. As I have told people you were the inspiration, they suggested I should try to send you a copy as a thank you.
I would so much like to send you an MP3 of it for your precious feedback. Would this be possible?

Hi there Joe Im sorry to hear of your mothers passing you have my deepest sympathy, I have recently lost my grandfather and am dedicating my debut solo album to him and my grandmother who has been gone for 10 years. I don't know if you remember but I was the kid who gave you my demo CD after the G3 show in sydney last year with a song dedicated to you on there. I don't know if you have listened to it yet but the CD isn't great and my new album is a way better representation of my playing and songwriting I would love to send you a copy its called "Travel Through My Dream Places" is there some way of getting it to you its way better than the one I gave you and Mr Vai after the G3 show :) hope all things are well I also have to say you are the guitar player to me that Hendrix is to you, I wouldn't have found that amazing piece of wood and strings that has given me direction in life if it wasn't for you so for that I say thank you.

Joe! you're amazing man! I wish I knew half as much about music as you do. I would probably sell off everything and give you my car just to learn from you! =D
I've been playing for a while, but man... some of the stuff you can do just blows my mind! You make it look so effortless. I think if you even just touched my guitar I would instantly become 10x better hahaha!!

3 months til i see joe for the first time on his tour im soo axited!!!! :D
i seen him at the marshall 50 years of loud celebration when he played satch boogie and then always with me always with you it was too awseome. then he played a jam with paul gilbert and Nicko Mcbrain playing goin down. the next day in the hard rock cafe i went into the vault only to find joes other original js from the 80's the black dogs unknown brother that has all the alien drawings and scribbled all over it. the best expierience of my life by far, i returned home to scotland overwhelmed.
im seeing him perform in the glasgow royal concert hall june 9 and ive a pass to meet the man. words cannot describe the exitement
