OKay: Satch fans PLEASE do not accept any e-mail from Ibanezplayer13@hotmail.com!!!! It has been stolen and corrupted. Avoid it like the plague!! I'm now back at T2J thanks to John! Thanks John! I have lost ALL of your info and won't be accepting any emails from that address either. I hope no one got spammed or viruses from the "OLD" email account. On another note: Steven Wilde says Hi and misses all of you he used to communicate with. He is back practicing guitar despite quite a reversal of fortune when his dads passing caused identity thieves to reek havoc to him and his family. I have been working hard during the holidaze and things are getting slower for Feb. More l8ter. Randell

Zinc, I looked all over the That Metal Show site and the VH1 Classic site and can't find any clips. Maybe youtube? Here's one with a few good peeps - TMS BTW - 49'ers will win :-)

PLily, it seems like every day, or every week. WTF is going on, man? It's bananas!

Simply beautiful!

Zinc ... I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it has to be the 49'ers. Ray Lewis ain't gonna get no SB ring on his way out of the NFL. Karma is a bitch ..

Well I've ordered my tickets to see Joe in Wolverhampton later in the year.

Last night I dreamed that the night of the concert had arrived. Joe had ditched the shades and instead was dressed as a shepherd. God knows why. He played stuff from his new album which involved a bit of a change of direction. Gone was the guitar, and in came a piano, on which he played "experimental" love songs. Suffice to say they weren't very good. The guitar came out for a few classics, then groans came from the crowd as the piano was wheeled back out.

Thank god it was a dream, and I know the real concert will be awesome.

I can't wait.

Ben

Gregg Bissonette is actually a very accomplished drummer. He most likely played simple stuff on The Extremist because he was asked to.

Looking forward to hearing Joe with Marco, and I hope he is off of the leash.

Found this of Joe on TMS but it's from almost 3 years ago.

Now I know who Joe picked too...and it wasn't really a contest between those two IMO. lol! hands down winner.

ok, kirk wrote beautiful, catchy guitar solos but come on joe, question is "who is better thrash metal player?". dave composed an album like "rust in peace", i don't mention about the others like "countdown to extinction" or "youthanasia". he can also play solo but without james hetfield i would like to see what kirk can do. as a lead guitarist he hasn't even a solo album.

I teach elementary music and have Satch posters all over my walls at work. My 3rd graders are particularly huge fans since one student got his dad to buy him some CDs. This week, one kid left the classroom covering his head with the hood from his sweater while yelling out "look everyone, I'm Joe Satriani!" So proud of them!

Currently have Crushing Day by Joe Satriani paused.

Had the Satriani recurring dream again last night. In this one Satch, my daughter and I were walking around some town, Europe looking at statues while trying to find a good place for dinner. This probably happens 'cause I can't wait for the new album!

jason, the best thing you can do is EDUCATE yourself on the disease and nutrition. If classes are offered at any local hospitals or clinics like they are here, take them. The better you can help your body, the less damage diabetes will do. Exercise is also very important. You don't have to join a gym, just be active - as active as you can when you're feeling not so great. Try to make Joe's gig your goal. You WILL feel better by then. Tell yourself that every day and push yourself to do everything you can to get yourself healthy. Not knowing why you feel like crap is the worst part. Now that you have a diagnosis, you can start the battle. I've seen so many people try to ignore it, or not respect it. That has terrible results. Education, nutrition, and exercise. Best of luck to ya!

Attack!

Hi everyone...a few comments on the drummer stuff:

Marco Minneman plays drums on Steven Wilson's solo album due out later this month, and Steven just announced that Marco will not be doing the North/South American tours. Not that we need more proof, but it looks like the Joe thing is definitely happening.

Gregg Bissonette is absolutely an amazing drummer. I went to the Mark and Brian Christmas Show in 2011, and Gregg was the house drummer for a revolving lineup that included Edgar Winter, Kevin Cronin, and Steve Lukather, among others. Gregg was sight-reading all the parts! It was a pretty cool gig...Chickenfoot played there too, and I got to see Joe and Gregg do Satch Boogie.

Jeff Campitelli is staying busy. I went to a Satchurated screening during NAMM last year (thanks again, mikesb!) and talked to Jeff a bit...he was doing a few gigs with Peppino D'Agostino, and they had plans to record together. This is just a guess on my part, but Joe going with a different drummer probably has to do more with Jeff not being available...

Aaand while I'm talking about Satch drummers, I went to another Bonzo Bash tribute during NAMM this year. I can't even begin to list all the drummers who were there, but two of them with Satch ties were Jonathan Mover and Simon Phillips. Very cool...now if I could only see Manu Katche somehwere. ;-)

...Austin...

Hi Joe, I'd like to get into recording and writing my own instrumental work alongside a lot of other musicians from my college and surrounding areas. I was wondering how you started it all up, what software you use and what order you do stuff in to give me an idea of how others do it!

Cheers Joe!
