Two Shay - ok, i really understood what you mean. maybe minnemann will inspire him and joe will offer him to play in his next album. that would be awesome. but in past years jonathan mover had left joe satriani because he wanted to do some progressive works. joe's an awesome guitarist but his playing style is not like guthrie govan's or greg howe's or petrucci's. that's why greg played with dennis chambers, guthrie played with minnemann, petrucci played with portnoy, even steve vai played with mike mangini and terry bozzio. but satch played with greg bissonette in the extremist album, because he wanted a solid rock sound. can you see the difference, i think joe doesn't prefer super, fantastic drummers in his music. steve is crazy so he chooses crazy drummers as he picks virtuoso bass players, violinists etc...

but on the other hand, i totally agree with you. as a listener i prefer marco or another fantastic drummer to jc but i understand why joe picks jc for the drums. a great drummer can get satch's music richer, can get some new and delicious tastes for his music.

netknight - Your last paragraph is pretty much what i'm trying to say. On one hand it's cool that Joe has followed his own path without exceptional supporting musicians to distract him but I feel that with a little careful selection he could have been a megastar. Now onto Chickenfoot, they would be so much better if Joe didn't save his best stuff for solo projects.

Hi Joe Just wanted to say thanks for all the awesome music over the years!! I've been a long-time fan like many others. I don't know if this has come up before, but I'd love to see a G3 tour with yourself (of course) Vai and Marco Sfogli. I think a show with with three of the most expressive guitar players on the planet would be absolutely phenomenal! Thanks again!

Joe,

Our son is a real fan of you. Last year he played" surfing with the alien" at his endexam music at highschool. see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmQ3JY6Dyrs. He failed for his endexam highschool and is doing it again now. This yaer he wants to play "crying "at his exam misic. He is looking for a real good backingtrack of this number. Do you know where to find it ??? P.S. He never had any guitar lesson, he learned it on his own, just listen, look, and play. please your reaction where to find a good backing track of "crying" Thanks anyway for your guitarplaying and being a example for our son. From a drummers perspective Jeff is a great drummer! playing exactly what the songs need! Bottom line: it is Joe's music, everything is done his way! Marco will play what Joe tells him to play and so on...

That Metal Show ‏@ThatMetalShow

#TMS with @ChickenfootJoe starts in 15 mins on @VH1Classic!

It was posted 1 hour ago. Maybe something someone in Chickenfootjoe's camp should have told us about? MAYBE?

From the VH1 Classic site -

11:00 PM Remind Me

That Metal Show

Joe Satriani

With guest Joe Satriani. Topics include supergroups and thrash guitarists. Hosted by Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine.

WTF? Is it a rerun? Am I missing something here?

Everyone is jonesin' for Joe news, and this slides by unmentioned.

Dear Joe, I would like to send a video to you of a TRUE fan of yours (who plays incredibly, with one of your guitars) and for whom I am making a request; he is a doctor living in Mexico who is marrying his love, Lily, in May. His family and friends know that the BEST wedding gift would be a brief shout out from you to him and his bride (ABEL and LILY) through a brief video, if possible. I'm going to attempt to send you a video of him playing on one of your guitars. With much thanks for your consideration and time, Judygee (aka Judy Gitlin

Haven't been around in a while - been busy.

Just read the last month of posts.

F Cancer!

Who will win the super bowl this weekend?

Which team do you think Joe will support? Not a tough choice for Joe in my opinion.

I hope all is well.

Michelle - too bad I missed the Metal Show - will need to look for it elsewhere.

OKay: Satch fans PLEASE do not accept any e-mail from Ibanezplayer13@hotmail.com!!!! It has been stolen and corrupted. Avoid it like the plague!! I'm now back at T2J thanks to John! Thanks John! I have lost ALL of your info and won't be accepting any emails from that address either. I hope no one got spammed or viruses from the "OLD" email account. On another note: Steven Wilde says Hi and misses all of you he used to communicate with. He is back practicing guitar despite quite a reversal of fortune when his dads passing caused identity thieves to reek havoc to him and his family. I have been working hard during the holidaze and things are getting slower for Feb. More l8ter. Randell
