Had the Satriani recurring dream again last night. In this one Satch, my daughter and I were walking around some town, Europe looking at statues while trying to find a good place for dinner. This probably happens 'cause I can't wait for the new album!

jason, the best thing you can do is EDUCATE yourself on the disease and nutrition. If classes are offered at any local hospitals or clinics like they are here, take them. The better you can help your body, the less damage diabetes will do. Exercise is also very important. You don't have to join a gym, just be active - as active as you can when you're feeling not so great. Try to make Joe's gig your goal. You WILL feel better by then. Tell yourself that every day and push yourself to do everything you can to get yourself healthy. Not knowing why you feel like crap is the worst part. Now that you have a diagnosis, you can start the battle. I've seen so many people try to ignore it, or not respect it. That has terrible results. Education, nutrition, and exercise. Best of luck to ya!

Attack!

Hi everyone...a few comments on the drummer stuff:

Marco Minneman plays drums on Steven Wilson's solo album due out later this month, and Steven just announced that Marco will not be doing the North/South American tours. Not that we need more proof, but it looks like the Joe thing is definitely happening.

Gregg Bissonette is absolutely an amazing drummer. I went to the Mark and Brian Christmas Show in 2011, and Gregg was the house drummer for a revolving lineup that included Edgar Winter, Kevin Cronin, and Steve Lukather, among others. Gregg was sight-reading all the parts! It was a pretty cool gig...Chickenfoot played there too, and I got to see Joe and Gregg do Satch Boogie.

Jeff Campitelli is staying busy. I went to a Satchurated screening during NAMM last year (thanks again, mikesb!) and talked to Jeff a bit...he was doing a few gigs with Peppino D'Agostino, and they had plans to record together. This is just a guess on my part, but Joe going with a different drummer probably has to do more with Jeff not being available...

Aaand while I'm talking about Satch drummers, I went to another Bonzo Bash tribute during NAMM this year. I can't even begin to list all the drummers who were there, but two of them with Satch ties were Jonathan Mover and Simon Phillips. Very cool...now if I could only see Manu Katche somehwere. ;-)

...Austin...

Hi Joe, I'd like to get into recording and writing my own instrumental work alongside a lot of other musicians from my college and surrounding areas. I was wondering how you started it all up, what software you use and what order you do stuff in to give me an idea of how others do it!

Cheers Joe!

Chee, the weather here all week has been fine. Cold, but fine. My sister is supposed to have a lung biopsy tomorrow morning, and of course the weather is supposed to be freezing rain and a bita snow with that storm coming. She was supposed to have it done in Jan., but the weather crapped out then too. The hospital is 1.5 hrs from her house, and my pop is taking her, so it's a 2.5 hr drive for him. I'm wondering if this bad weather on the exact day she's supposed to go is a sign? Once maybe, but twice? This is nerve wracking. She's going to make her decision today to cancel or not. She really wants to get this over with. The weather was fine all damn week. *sigh*

The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love someone else...

Little Texas, My Love

I love animals more than people. It's sad but true. People are cruel. Animals are not.

My beautiful kitty, Ms. Bean a short haired gray passed away and she was only 5 years old! She started acting clumsy one day, like misjudging her jumps and she would fall over just trying to walk.

I spent thousands of dollars trying to find out what was wrong with her. Turns out my Ms. Bean had a common parasite called Toxoplasmosis and it had advanced to her brain and was destroying her motor skills and muscle control. I desperately tried medicine to help her but it was too late and too far advanced. I totally blame myself for not recognizing her symptom's earlier on. I could have saved her with medicine. But it had spread too far to her brain. I had to carry her to her food dish, and carry her to my bed and tuck her in at night with me. I couldn't bare to lose her.

Then one day she cried out in pain from her muscle spasms and I knew she couldn't suffer anymore. It was one of the hardest things in my life to have to go through.

When I had to take her to her final Vet visit the place was packed with big barking dogs. My poor Bean was so scared, I felt awful about it. I tried the best I could to comfort her. And keep mentioning her din din time (dinner), she loved eating. It was her favorite thing.

It truly felt like losing a child. And I can't seem to get over that my snuggle kitty is gone and can never be replaced with a new kitty. It's frustrating being frozen in time... .. .

Oblivion, relaxing music

One day will hopefully come when I'm ready to accept my loss, but right now I can't let my beautiful Bean's memory fade lest I lose her forever... .. .

Chelle, good vibes to yer sissie for tomorrow, I hope she is able to go so she can get answers. God bless her lil cotton socks!!

Iceman II, so sorry you lost your fur baby. There are many times I think I love animals more than people. They sure hold a special place in my heart too, so I can understand some of your pain. Hang in there, your sweet kitty will be waiting to greet you again some day.

Iceman so sorry to hear you lost your kitty. They are certainly special and it's always hard losing them. It's funny how much we grieve, it sorta gets you by surprise.

I have my beautiful kitty Elvis buried in the backyard. The moggy we have now has just been in a punch-up and has a huge hole on his head that Mr Skippy had to disinfect tonight. *SIGH*

I hope you get another cat to keep you company and give you that unconditional love that only they can come up with.

oxley, I've listened to that hundreds of times, and it never gets old! Absolutely timeless! My ear is always on the instruments and Geddy floats on top. Brings back a lot of good memories of blasting Rush through these giant Altec speakers we used to have back in the 80's. Thanks!

I see the gods in battle rage on high...

Thunderbolts across the sky...

I cannot move, I cannot hide...

I feel a silent scream begin inside...

Jayzus, I love this! lol!

Waiting for a call from the hospital to hear how my sister's surgery went. It was scheduled for 10:30. Knowing her, she wants to stay awake and tell the doctor how to do his job. lol! She's the patient with no patience. lol! I just hope that whatever they find can be fixed.

Hello Joe! I'm from México and I want to ask for something that would mean the world to me. My best friend is getting married on May 18th and he is really a big fan of you Joe. He is a great guitar player he knows all your songs, we have assisted together to all your concert in Mexico G3 and other tours, has all your records and your Red Guitar JS Series. He is going to make a performance in his own wedding in honor to you with a song composed by him and they are going to have their first husband and wife dance with one of your songs (Love Thing) My request is only if you can send to me via email or with any other via a video of you wishing him and his wife to have a great life together... It won't take you more than 30 secs and you could really change his life forever, he may even forget about the other event.....jeje ;) The idea is to play your video just after their dance! Please please! I know how busy you are but if you do it would be our best gift as best man. Best regards!

Their names are Abel and Lily! I also tweet you with this boths videos playing:
