Yes - I am looking forward to teasers as well. Those are always exciting. Wondering what the rest of the song will be like.

Cannot wait for delivery day.

Well i'm a little surprised that all those commenting on the new single think it's so good. Nice work, good vibe, fair enough but i get the feeling i've heard it all before (bits from here and there). There is nothing new or edgy in it for me and i feel a little disappointed. To me it is the Budweiiser of Joe's work, not his best stuff but something that will be acceptable to the most people.

In regards to A Door Into Summer, a lot of people are bashing it (mainly on Youtube, not so much here). I mean it's a simple song, but not all of Joe's songs have to be riddled with complexity. This is a good song for summer which is what it's named after. Cruisin' down a highway with the windows open in the middle of June.

It does sound like some of his other work. Particularly Black Swans mixed with Strange Beautiful Music, surprisingly. But again, it's his single. Light Years Away was mainly a heavy rock instrumental with some nice chords in between and a cool arpeggio section at the end. Simple? Kinda. Boring? Not at all. And anyone who has seen it live can agree that it's a kickass song.

Joe is just giving us a little taste without spoiling too much so we can be more amazed when we give the whole album a first listen.

Joe interviewed on Guitar Gods and Masterpieces Aussie TV show

This was just uploaded but recorded a year ago when Joe was here for the G3 tour. "Guitar Gods and Masterpieces" is a great little show on independent TV here in Oz and they give exposure to all sorts of genres and guitarists. The host adopts this crazy character "Hack Wanger" I think because he actually works for a music retailer and can't use his real name, and he is really kooky with a silly voice. Joe finds it funny as did Steve Vai when he was on the show. Nice little chat with Joe.

Enjoy.

PS hope you wear the orange pants on Saturday Joe.

Hey Joe, I can't wait for the new album, i'm still trying my best to sound like you in the 80's let alone the freaky smooth stuff you have goin' on now. My fantasy album is you working with Eddie Kramer for obvious reasons. Since the tragic passing of Andy Johns I began to think of you working with Mr. Kramer again (mabe even dare I say it at Electric Ladyland) You know you want to. Just fantasizing sonicly Thanks , yours truly Shane Storey

Thanks for checking out my A Door Into Summer video peeps

Skippygirl - so sis, are you going to tell us more about Joe's pants???

Thanks (5 or so hours after I heard it I think).

Must only be 24hrs now? Sorted your outfit? Camera? Chosen signatory item? Planning planning planning dear

Blue Moon - thanks mate. You didn't get to post a curtains comment on the video this time : ) How long til the ear melting music comes our way?

Two Shay - now didn't you say that last album? I hear you. But aren't you at least enjoying the low down rhtymn laden'ness of the track? It would suit vocals equally well. I likes a bit of solid (driving) rock me

I still can't type can I!

F me I miss my Dad today. Broke several times... and all because of a drinking straw. Yikes

Anyways, more new Joe tunes soon so.... COOL!

Hello Joe Satriani,

I am a really big fan of yours and all i have ever listened to is your music. You have inspired to the extent of me learning to play guitar and hence compose music myself. I would really like you to check out some of my work and give me some tips regarding structuring and composition. Here's the link to my page:

Also I have recently worked out a track titled 'D Happy Song', do check it out on the same page mentioned above and let me know what you think about it =]

Pipster, I probably did. I'm not saying I don't like it, it's just that after the spiel about "months off and cathartic writing" I expected something a little different. The new track has a nice overall feel to it and sounds like it's made by a proper band, I just hope there's some edginess to the rest of the album.

Does anyone know the inspiration for the title "A Door Into Summer"?

Any idea if its from the Heinlein novel?

Still bathing in the afterglow today how lucky I was that Joe stayed for such a long time yesterday to do pics and signings. And hello to dream3 and Raven who I chatted with whilst waiting in the queue to go in. dream3 bought Joe's Marshall amp which Joe signed I think.

Hi Everyone.

Hope everyone is well. My running is coming along well. I am actually in Boston, Massachusetts. I am running the Boston Marathon on Monday, which is awesome. This makes this Marathon #4 this year, #18 overall, as well as State #8.

You all can follow me by going to www.baa.org and you can find the participant tracker. If you all want to follow me, just look up my name or my bib number, which is #679

Pip: Great job on Joe's song.

Skippygirl: Yay! So happy that you got to see Joe.

Tomorrow, I have to pick up my race packet at the expo. Actually the hotel and the expo are about connected to each other so I can easily walk over and pick it up.

Hope everyone is well. I'll keep you all posted on how I do, or if you like, just follow me from the link I gave to you all. Wish me luck everyone, ttyl.
