What a shame - Went last night to an amazing concert in Saskatoon. We live in New Zealand and saw Mr. Satriani in London 10 years ago where he signed a Tshirt for Matt. Last night in Saskatoon asked the Security if possible to get same shirt signed - he mentions that you do a meet and greet for 5 ppl later and likely possible to get in. 2 ppl show for it and we wait only to be told that no you will not see Matt. Truly disappointed. Great Show though.

I just don't understand! And the encore people stood up and then tryed to sit down ( the peopl behind me ) then they realized that no o e was gonna sit for the last couple songs so the stood!

Pretty awkward !! But great show as always joe is the man! Got lots of great pictures !! Had a good time and my lady managed to nab me one of Joe's pic's to add in the collection of JOE!!

Hopefully tonight calgary is a bit more shall I say on their toes!!

Great meeting you Joe at Long And McQuade in Vancouver tonite (Oct 18) and can't wait until tomorrow night's concert. I missed the last one because of health problems. I was the 3rd fan in line who worked at the bar called TKO in San Rafael ("three clicks out" saying came from the John Wayne movie Green Berets).....I think the bar was in Harbor Center in San Rafael....that was in 1987 so forgive me if my alcaheimers is kicking in. I have seen your set lists from some other Canadian shows and if that's the plan, the 3 thumbs up!!!!! 2/3rds of the Aristocrats (Minneman-Beller) are playing with you along with Mike K. Was that your plan all along to tour with these two amazing artists? One other question: will you be bringing another version of the G3 tour here in the future? I sure hope so, but I know it must be hard to set that up with Chickenfoot and all. You never cease to amaze me and you'll see me with tears in my eyes from the 1st note of your concert tomorrow, so cheers and kick our asses. By the way, I saw both Chickenfoot concerts here in Van and the second one at the Queen E. when you paid kudos to Ronnie Montrose (another one my guitar heroes) was awesome. You had his run-down perfect on Bad Motor Scooter (more tears of joy). Thanks for all you do to keep us mere mortals entertained.

Joe, I was the first guy who walked out last night in Calgary. Not cuz I didn't like the music but because it was so loud I couldn't tell what you were playing.

Now, I LIKE loud. I play a SuperBass and 4x12 myself. And I was wearing earplugs last night. But your sound guy had me in pain. My right ear was HOWLING and the left was whistling when I hit the door. Not even AC/DC did that to me.

Talk to your soundguy. He's not doing you any favors Joe.

That soft seater is designed for music. Your guy had you at arena levels. All I heard was a roar and the whistle of your Whammy.

I'll catch you next time you come by and hopefully you'll tame your front guy before then.

Thanks for reading this. .

Greetings Joe.
I just did your list of songs that we would like you to play live, but have found that 3 VERY GOOD songs that are not on your list of songs.
They are: Speed Natives, Overdrive Me and Liquid Frenzy from the Sound Tracks for Nascar '06.
It would be crazy awesome to hear these songs live. I hope when I see you again (in the near future I hope in CF or G3 or solo) after October 19th that my guitar god would kick my ass with any of these 3 songs. And I hope the peeps at tonite's concert aren't as docile as I'm hearing in these latest posts. Cmon Canucks and Vancouverites, let's give Joe the reception he deserves for all the years of great music he's given us.
I will definitely be standing and shouting for this spectacle, ass-warmers be forewarned!!!!!!
Joe, you have permission for lift off and to KICK OUR ASSES !!! Peace out.

I would like to see a list of guitarists that Joe should play with. I asked him this at the signing on Oct.18th in Vancouver and he told me Jimmy Page.
Too cool......
Would have loved to see him play with Zappa (maybe Dweezil and Joe can get together).
Frank Marino and Joe would bring tears to my eyes if they played together. Also would have loved to see Joe with Leslie West (another all time fave).

Hey Joe,

I'm creating an infographic called something like "10 reasons why the guitar is the coolest instrument ever" and I'm wondering if you'd like to chime in? I'd love to include a reason or two from you and quote you on the infographic. It could be serious or silly - whatever you think. We're going to promote it pretty heavily.

If you're inspired, do you think you could get back to me by this coming Friday, the 25th? We're hoping to spend the next week on content, then a week on design, then release it around the first week of November.

By the way, I started playing the guitar in 1987 when I was 14 and spent probably hundreds of hours trying to learn the Surfing record. I finally got to see you perform in Boston for the first time on your Flying tour - that must have been in '89 or '90. Anyway I've been a huge fan for most of my life.

Wishing you the best!

Looking forward to seeing you in Salem Wednesday, Joe...We'll be sending you many mental hugs from the audience :)

It's the one-year anniversary of my dad passing the day of the Salem show...I have the feeling he'll be there with us at least part of the time, but most of the time he'll be with my wee mum. She gets sadder as the day approaches. There have been a lot of hard "firsts" this past year, and we all miss him just as much now as then.

The plan is to take my mom with us on this trip...she won't go see the show but we can keep her company otherwise...right now she's not quite sure she's going, it's pretty hard when you're 92...but I hope she comes with us. We can do some "leaf-peeping" on the way up and back...and hopefully give her something else to focus on, at least part of the time.

Love ya Joe...my dad will finallly get to see why we love seeing you and think so much of you :)

Hey Joe! Looking forward to the show at the Elsinor Theater in Salem. I'm taking my children to listen to some Beautiful music at a Beautiful venue. I am the guitar guy you met in Portland a few years back that you added your artwork to the child art guitar I built. You should have seen the eyes light up with honor when I asked them if they wanted to go see you. Can't wait to see you myself!

JS, just curious as to what your thoughts are on Rocksmith 2014 session mode. This tool seems to be a very quick and easy way to get groove going on a new idea.

All the time I get new ideas in my head and then by the time I get everything setup to have some type of basic backing to help motivate and improvise on it, it's gone! This new band AI system is great! Now those ideas can just flow (while recording with an external source mind you).

Technology is so crazy now and having an AI band at your will is just yet another tool to bring new musical possibilities to the table.

Just wondering if something like this appeals to even guitarist like yourself? Or does it just make you wish you would of had something like that 30 years ago? Lol.

Anyway, if you do mess around with it, I for one would love to see how you improvise with it. Maybe make some YouTube videos or something :)

Joe,

Thanks so much for coming back through Spokane. I felt a bit out of place being one of the younger crowd members but I enjoyed the show. I don't have the finances to be able to make many shows and I missed out last time you came through town - but did catch you at the Big EZ on the ITLIS tour. Spokane is such a small venue by most standards that I appreciate you coming back through. I hope some day to meet you in person.

Hi Joe,

Saw you on Thursday 13th June 2013 in the UK at Wolverhampton Civic Hall and it blew my socks off and has to be one of the best live gigs I have been to and I have seen many bands and artists over the years.

I have a few questions for you. 1. Do you use alternate tunings for your guitars during the show? 2. What alternate tunings do you use? 3. What songs do you use alternate tunings on?

I have a Ibanez JS1200 Candy Apple Red and a Ibanez JS100 Transparent Red and love both these guitars plus I have a few other makes of guitar but the Ibanez JS1200 and JS 100 seem to have the edge.

Thank you in advance.

Keep on rocking, Mark.

Hi Joe, I would like to know what were the pickups that you had landed on the 1988 Black Dog? The pads are black, therefore the neck I think it's the Paf Pro (DP151) and the bridge is the Super 3 (dp152) or a Paf Pro ... I WANT TO KNOW ABSOLUTELY, thank you joe !

Hi Joe, Fantadtic Concert on Saturday Oct.19th in Vancouver, you really kicked my ASS!!!!!!
Amazing as always......
I have ONE BEEF though with the fans in Vancouver....WTF is with you people.....
I was in the first 10 rows and everyone except a couple of people sat on their ASSES for the whole concert (Except for the encore). I was really disappointed in Vancouver fans (which is getting epidemic)...
The only time I sat less was at a Moody Blues concert which was attended by 70 year olds.
The person behind me had to have been all of 30 years old and he was bitchin' for me to sit down.
Maybe it's the VOGUE that's the shit venue, with security and all putting a downer on the concert goers. Joe, if all under your control. please do not play at the Vogue ever again.
I'd rather see you again outdoors at the Plaza Of Nations or The Commodore (THE place to play) dude......
Still Joe, you kicked my ass and I'm sure you saw the tears in my eyes at the concert. Lots of Love man and hope to see you soon in whatever incarnation you can conjure up!!!!!! Peace Out....
