Hi Joe, I have a question about your delays. I know you use 2 delays in clean sound but do you use it both to your lead solo main sound or only the short delay?

Hi everyone, I'm a huge fan of Joe and have almost every single thing he has ever recorded...there are a few minor things I don't have though so I would like to ask if anyone out there has the Fizzy Qwick LP from 1986 and the Julie Stafford 7" I'm No Angel/Run To Her from 1983, both of which Joe played on please? Thanks!

Hi Joe - First time posting, been a fan since Surfing came out and changed the world of rock guitar. Thanks for so many years of soul-satisfying music.

The main reason for this post (if I may be so bold) is to suggest a few possible songs to remake: "Blue Angel" and/or "Slinky" by Chet Atkins. Chet was the "Satch" of my father's day, and because of that, I grew up hearing his stuff played (from LP's on the old console stereo system and through my dad's amp) since I was a little kid. I always loved those two songs and thought they would sound so cool as JS remakes (- screaming metal versions!)

Anyway - it's just a thought. At least check them out when you get a chance: BA - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MMi97aGdOg (ignore video) SL - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3hPyiBMV78

Hi Joe,

I'd like to share this acoustic guitar cover of "Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness" with you. I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and already have tickets for the show at Gran Rex on September 27th. If you think this song would work live by having me as guest on acoustic, don't hesitate in letting me know. I'd love to share the stage with you, Bryan, Marco and Mike by playing such a beautiful song as this one. :)

Hi Joe, your work has always encouraged me to put effort in my guitar playing and coming up with my own originals since the early 90s… In fact I am still coming up with my own stuffs at home on a 16 track.

As you will be performing in Singapore in November… I was about to get a ticket to see your show and have you autograph on my Ibanez tremolo cavity cover just beside Scott Henderson’s signature…

Then I came across the meet and greet package charged by the concert promoter…

I wonder are you aware of this?

Do you concur your concert promoter to charge an arm for your fans to meet and greet you in person?

Appreciate your response.

Thanks - Eric

Hi, Sir Joe. I am one of your avid fans from the Philippines. I started reading STRANGE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC this weekend and I was very touched, particularly when you shared the story behind Crying. In 2008, I learned the song, and it also inspired me to write a piece of poetry with Cryin' as my soundtrack and I wanted to share my take on the song with you:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChNBtiOolLk&list=UUfrCdZbxTWk_-OQPt1DhR9g

On a related note, I was also inspired by the fact that you are a teacher who touched the lives of many outstanding guitarists today. I was wondering if you and your former students could record or go on a tour similar to G3, but in a "The Teacher and his Students" vein. I have emailed Mr. Steve Vai on this idea and I am also planning to do so with Mr. Kirk Hammett (a fellow Filipino). If it happens, it would be added inspiration to all us guitar freaks out there.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to interact with you, Sir Joe

I'd like to see Avery Molek and Max Portnoy play together. Max is twice his age and already has his own band Next To None, but I think Avery would give him a good run for his money.

When I was 15 someone made me hear Flying In A Blue Dream, I was touched by the sky. Your melodies spoke to me really. I thank you for beeing an inspiration. So you gave me a present, I send you back mine (with my tiny skill) only to give you a present from my personnal expression: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNWM-dpPfCE&index=4&list=UU3OQEz72pEju0Iv-Gv2Lu-w

I hope one day you will answer to the question about the delays (I know you use both with clear, but with lead solo only short or both too?) I really like your delays.

Hey Joe!

Was under the impression that "A Love Eternal" was a cover song by you of an old standard, but the credits say it's an original. I was blown away- although I really love to hear you shred, the melody of this song nearly moves me to tears. Just beautiful!! Could you describe your inspiration for writing such a timeless melody and how you go about the process of coming up with ideas- do you draw inspiration from listening to other forms of music? I write my own instrumentals and am trying to write better melodies. I find it very difficult to be original with all the music out there. Only wish I could come up with something like A Love Eternal. Thanks and all the best to you!

G'day Joe and friends , Just wanted to let you know I'm back playing my guitar ! but acoustic this time round !

My band (duo) called "The Drewsterz" played our first gig a couple weeks ago at a local unearthed comp.. While we didn't win (not that we went to win, just to have fun) we were the last act on and only act to get an encore ! and since then we have had a great response .. got a bit of a video up on youtube, no actual video just audio but some pics of the night.(milo is my nick name) ...
