Hey Peeps!! Long time no talk. It was a pretty busy summer with the CD release and gig schedule. Highlight was playing the Guitars Under the Stars festival here in Oregon. Lots of great acts on the bill including Pat Travers, Tony MacAlpine, Lita Ford, Gary Hoey, Bruce Bouillet (who was SUPER cool) and Jennifer Batten.

As we head into 2015 I wanted to let you know of a cool interview I did with CVWW. Also, in this edition is an interview with Robin McAuley. Anyway I hope everyone has a great holiday season. Keep Rockin!!

Mr. Satriani,

I've never thanked you properly for your life's work. I just received the Chrome Dome from Topspin, and it's like listening to all of your music for the first time. Absolutely mind-blowing!

If you ever get the chance to release high resolution packages for G3, Chickenfoot or any other project I'm not aware of, please, let me know.

Thanks

Randy

Hi Joe,

I've always loved the tone of the lone guitar outro of Champagne? I'm trying to figure out how to get it on the Axe fx.

Can you tell me what you used? So far I have a Strat (neck pu) into a Plexi or Bassman and Chandler O/D (and slapback reverb).

I know the cab was a palmer.

thanks! Steven

Hey Joe

I have been following you for many years, since the surfing with aliens album at least. You're instrumentals are unrivaled to say the least and I love instrumentals but my favorite album of is "Flying in a Blue Dream" because of the vocals. Then I heard Chickenfoot and was blown away with you're playing with a front man(but with Sammy you can't go wrong right?). My question is do you plan on doing a Joe Satriani album with a vocalist or with you doing the lead vocals?

I needs to get my hands on the new purple 24 fret.

Joe (or anyone else). When I see clips of Joe playing this model (and the orange one) It does not appear to have a Satch track in the neck.

See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LHNL1ZMJvY

Is that the sustain-er pickup I keep hearing about? Does Joe ever play the Satch Track?

Also in the video: good recovery from the Keneally keyboard fumble :)

Thinking of Joe, and Phil and anyone else who has lost a loved one around Christmas. My beautiful Uncle Peter isn't going to make it to Christmas, he's in the last stage of cancer. Soon he'll be on the most perfect, eternal black diamond run in the universe.

I'm playing Cryin' for all of us.

Merry Christmas everyone, I guess Joe is never coming back here but to all who still check in every now and again, maybe we will meet up one day at a show.

hi Joe.

I am prearing this letter draft on my plane in Johor Baru, Malaysia, on divert route from original destination, Singapore.

I have been your huge fan since 1990 when I first listened to your "Extremist" album. It is such a powerful and beautiful music. Suddenly I fell in love with you. Since then, I am collecting all your CD albums until today. My wife, Sandy, is a fan of Marco as she first saw his performance in youtube 2 years ago.

When we heard your world tour schedule to Singapore, we were very excited and decided to go, even though we have to travel from Indonesia, our home town.

So we save our money and prevent to spend our money on something else, including skip Dream Theater concert in Jakarta, October 26, 2014.

We have already bought your Singapore concert and return airplane ticket to Singapore. We take annual leave from our office as your concert is on working day.

Unfortunately, we miss our morning flight 11.20 AM Indonesia time and the airline staff told us that our ticket can not be used for the next flight since we have checked ourselves in thru web and asked us to buy new ticket for the next flight 02.30 PM Indonesia time with much higher price. No choice, the show must go on as nobody can guarantee we can see your concert in any other day.

So we took the 02.30 PM Indonesia time flight to Singapore after a long time waiting at the airport and scheduled to arrive at 05.00 PM Singapore time.

Another problem happens as the Captain explained that Singapore airport authority closed the airport due to heavy rain. Oh my! The Captain had to reroute to Johor Baru, Malaysia, as the fuel might not sufficient for flying over Singapore waiting for better weather. We landed in Johor Baru at 06.00 PM Malaysia/Singapore time for refueling.

Now is 08.00 PM Malaysia/Singapore time and we still stuck in our plane parked in Johor Baru, and it is exactly the time you scheduled to play. Singapore airport authority can only release our plane for the next 1 hour.

We feel empty inside and helpless now. We feel mixed emotion and very, very upset with the situation. No way we can see your concert. This is not about the money but the opportunity to see you perform. Don't think we can make it again next time.

Legendary Joe. I'm 43 years old, but when I listen to the music of joe I have the face of a child in a toy store. I live in Italy and two concerts this year I lost them. were 1,200 miles from the town where I live. The nearest airport to concerts 35 miles. need to rent a car and hotel. spending about $ 600 and the loss of a day's work. I've seen other shows in Italy of joe, in 2014 it was impossible. I hope that in 2015 the places of concerts are chosen better, as in previous years. Italy is great and cities with good airports and easily accessible. thanks! Massimo

Hi all, Long time JS fan (~25 years), first time poster. Just wondering if there will be a live album from the Unstoppable Momentum tour? I'm guessing no because it probably would have been produced by now, and it would be the 4th live album directly following a studio-album's tour. But just curious...
