Yeah chelle, I saw that late yesterday and am sad. He was a comic genius. The article I read said he'd been suffering from a deep depression. God bless him and his family and friends. He was way too young.

Anyone who has 6000 quid to spare can buy a Chrome Boy on Ebay from the UK.

Definitely on my dream list of guitars..

Ibanez Chrome Boy

Surfing With the Alien Ibanez - Lords of Karma is my fav track on this album

Dimebag Washburn or Dean - PANTERA Rocks! Equal first fav guitarist. Dimebag really puts the drive and grunt to the lyrics of all their songs.

1959 Les Paul Tobacco Sunburst - Slash makes it so cool in November Rain

SRV strat - Only way I can learn Texas Blues. Everyone here should watch MTV with SRV and Joe Satriani.

Hendrix Tribute Strat or Woodstock - I want to play Little Wing and May This Be Love on this one day

Lucille by BB King - Sweet Sixteen live version cries Blues

Frankenstrat - but I made my own! Sweeet...

Jimi Page Gibson EDS 1275 - Nothing but cool. Zepplin Rules!.. btw Pink Floyd's I wish you were here sounds amazing on a 12 string. Everyone should learn this. Still good on a 6 string. Easy song to learn.

Ibanez K7 from the 90's.

LORDS OF KARMA in Melbourne

hi Joe, For over 20 years I am listening, and you have m inspired to play the guitar, despite that I was listening to Led Zepellin, but since I have you listened to Hendrix, and other great guitarists, but I have a question concerning the playe buckethead, I will like to know your opinion on it, I know this may sound you called, but I manage to inspire me more easily to him, why ??

Joe, you are coming to New Zealand again. My 18 year old son performed Satch Boogie for an exam to a backing track (17 at the time). Here is the youtube link. Sam Montgomery, other tracks may interest, including his own compositions, Icicles and Gridlock. He plays all instruments himself, drums bass and guitar to create these videos.

Hello Joe,

I'm a guitar player from Buenos Aires who gave three masterclasses in mid-May at EMBA and TAMABA, two local music schools, with Steve Rothery from Marillion, when the band came to play at Gran Rex that same month. All three guitar clinics were successful, in which Steve made demonstrations of his style and equipment, and I interpreted him and got in charge of the creation of backing tracks for the pieces we were supposed to play together: "Old Man Of The Sea" (Steve Rothery Band) and the "Easter" solo section (Marillion).

Would you be interested in giving guitar clinics at these schools in late-September, when you’re in Buenos Aires for the Gran Rex concerts? This if everything is possibly arranged for that, that is. Steve and I had a great time, so did the principals of EMBA and TAMABA, let alone their students.

In order for you to listen to my playing, here are two different covers: "Circles", in which I play the electric guitar, and "Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness", in which I play acoustic. The “Circles” international/virtual collaboration project (Argentina, USA and Finland) was directed by me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyfY28EfhGM (Circles)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCSuRGTz7FQ (Rubina’s Blue Sky Happiness)

Besides those two videos, here’s a clip that the people at EMBA captured during the first Steve Rothery clinic, which features both of us playing together “Old Man of the Sea” (my guitar solo starts at 1:17):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1WT31naFEA

Hope you enjoy the covers, and if you think it's possible to make these guitar clinics happen (or at least one of them) let me know so I message the schools' principals and see if they can held yet another masterclass this year.

See you on September 27th, as I already have tickets for the show. ;)

Best wishes,

Claudio

Hey Joe, i was wondering why you don't film the recording sesssions of you albums. And release it like an extra or documentary. I would have loved seeing you play some of my favorites like Clouds Race accross the Sky or War. But the one i would have enjoyed the most is The Power Cosmic 2000 (search this on Youtube "The Power Cosmic 2000 Guitar Hero, some guy created the gameplay on his computer to this song, it's CRAZY) i don't play guitar but gravitate to songs with heavy guitar rifs, especially instrumentals.
