R.I.P Axeshredder Joe Cipolla

I had met him a few times at one of Joe's signings and at one of his concerts during the Wormhole Tour. We kept in touch mainly on Facebook and back in 2011 I bought one of his custom JS model guitar's that he modded. At the time, he was telling me that one of these days he was gonna quit smoking. Sure enough, a few months later, he finally did. But sadly though, it was still too late. Not only was he a hardcore Satch fan, but also a hardcore Rush fan and a great player himself. It's a sad day when someone with such a love for music passes on. He will certainly be missed.

The guitar he gave me will be a permanent reminder of how fragile life is and that we should live every minute of it enriching ourselves. Whether it be with music or poetry or science or simply taking time out of our busy lives to go for a walk on a bright summer day. Whatever you may do, just make sure you enjoy doing it. Even the small things. Because that is what you'll remember. The little moments are always the ones that count.

To Joe, Need your help in a San Francisco bay area based recording. Can't disclose the details, but you can name your price to assist in lead guitar and some rhythm guitar and production details. Been recording this project for over 3 years. There are many really good people on the 35 + tracks. We plan to take our time and do this one right.

What's up Satchland?

I see that Joe will be doing an overseas tour; I haven't been keeping tabs and this question has probably been asked a million times but, will he be in the US for the new album? He has got to grace us with his presence. If you all have the low down, please fill me in.

Peace

Hi there. How ya doing?

I don't know how this stuff work or what not but i'm gonna give it a bash.

My name is josh and me and my friend Steven are huge fans of Joe. His music inspires both of us but more so my friend as he plays guitar and joe is his no.1 inspiration. In February 2015 steven who is 17 found out he had a tumour on the back of his knee that was causing pain and sickness. After many trips to the hospital he later found out he would need chemo therapy, surgery and more chemo therapy after 2015 has already been a slow and hellish year for my friend. Because this year will be taken up with chemo and what not we are not sure he will be able toe make joe's concert in glasgow, scotland later on in the year. Now this is probably something joe gets regularly but here go's. Steven will be gutted he will miss joe... He already is gutted, so i was wondering if by any chance whilst joe is in the area (scotland) would he somehow make time to visit steven for a meet And greet? I'm sure this would mean the world to steven and would be great to see him have a smile on his face. He loves joe and aspires to be as good as joe and to help him through his chemo and all i hope joe could read this and maybe give it a think.

Thanks for your time and hope you are well.

I was going to buy the CD with poster, but the shipping company is charging more for shipping to Canada than the cost of the CD and poster, lol. I'll get mine off Amazon.

Joe Satriani Previews Track from New 'Shockwave Supernova' Album | VIDEO

Sounds like Joe is going balls to the wall on this one, being his alter ego “Shockwave Supernova” and all. lol!

During the EOC tour I made a cassette (remember those?) of all the songs on the setlist for that tour. I dusted it off and gave it a listen the other day. I forgot how much I love those songs!

EOC

Anybody else see GODSMACK on this tour? Sooo good!

My condolences to Joe Cipolla's friends and family. Sad news.

Hi Mr. Satriani

I am a music teacher in Houston. Recently I taught some of my elementary students how to make movies on the computer using music; I had recently learned myself and had a great time. The videos were from an RC plane with a little camera.

The goal was to analyze the music and show the section changes somehow. I gave them a few choices of vids and lots of musical choices. One was, and I hope you don't mind, your tune "Summer Song." It was one of the most popular choices and used by many of my students.

Some were pretty cool and I was wondering if you would like to see their products. If so, how would I post them and where?

Thank you musicman0669 in Houston

Hi Joe.

Just a quick question. Last year you released a limited amount of copies of your very first EP on Vinyl. Will you release this on CD? I know four tracks are on the Time Machine CD but one track is not and I know a lot of your dedicated fans like myself would like to this EP released on CD to add to their "Great Satch Collection".

Yours in anticipation

Skin Bear.

P.S. Can't wait until your gig in November at the Birmingham Symphony Hall in England.

Hi Joe,

I was watching one your vids on Your tube about learning the guitar and how you break it up into goals. My goals are

1. learn all the notes on the guitar 2. Learn the major scales 3..Learn the open chords 4. Learn the minor scales 5. Learn the power chords

I will then start to shape my learning once I have nailed these 5 and pick up the remaining scales and the chords all the way down the fret board as well as picking off solos that I like including breaking some of your stuff. I am about to embark on a wonderful journey and have decided once I learn the basics, I will reward myself with the JS2410 in MCO.

Thanks Joe, may you remain forever young.

do you have anything you could add to this?

I thought the song was average/boring when we could only hear the teaser. Now, listening to the full song, I totally dig it. I love the twists, shifts and extra guitar parts. It gets really interesting around the two minute mark. Does anyone else think it ends a lot like War, from The Extremist?
