Hello all! Peace Lily, hope you are ok and take care to not have another attack!
As far as the album goes, I like it pretty well... one thing I am definitely reminded of is how relatively diverse (while staying in the same genre) some of Joe's music is (even across a pseudo-concept album)
My instant favorites on this one are:
If There Is No Heaven
All of My Life
Shockwave Supernova
Lost In a Memory
On Peregrine Wings
Cataclysmic
The others are enjoyable too, just need a few more listens to settle in. Funny to see other Joe fans' preferences as I sometimes find others that like songs I'm not as partial to, and vice-versa.. Yet we all agree on the artist. What a daunting task he has, putting out music with continued appeal over such a long career... no one-hit wonder here! LOL :)

I am feeling some live N.O.T.E, and think that would be quite the opening song on tour. Just heard Joe drop the solo 'just like that' suggesting it's been practiced lol

I want to declare that Shockwave:Supernova is the best song I have every listened in my life.
Joe Satriani you are distinguished above and beyond even Mozart. One day doctors will discover and define such a thing as the 'Joe Satriani' effect. Like the Mozart Effect.
I've been waiting for Shockwave:Supernova my whole life.
Thankyou Joe, and other artists and supporters for allowing Joe to unleash the best work of music in all of humanity. God bless you.

Joe,
I hope on the US leg of your tour you make Red Rocks in Colorado a stop! Seems to me it's the perfect venue for you. It's the best sounding place I've been, I'd love to see you Vai and Malmsteen there. Otherwise I'll settle for anywhere in Colorado. Maybe this tour I'll have the dough for the VIP package. :)
New album is the best since the last one, loving my vinyl copy and signed poster!

Hey all. Newbie here, but big fan of Joe since Surfing and of all things guitar, from classical and jazz, to fusion, rock, world, fingerstyle, folk, you name it for 30 years or more. I play classical and fingerstyle, but don't practice enough and, therefor, suck.
I've read through some of the posts and it's interesting everyone has their favorite "Joe period" or desire for Joe to go in some different direction. I wish Joe would do a jazz fusion cd (maybe with Patitucci or Dave La Rue), but realize he'd be out of his comfort zone. He basically invented instrumental rock, so it makes sense he'd keep with it. "If it ain't broke..." I know he did two tracks with Pat Martino, and neither really grabbed me.
Last comment I'll make is, after reading through Joe's posts...has it really been 3 years since he last posted? Last post I saw was marked Aug 2012

I rarely have messaged in these forums. But just wanted to say, that with every listen, the new album is becoming my honest favourite Joe Satriani album. I love how you have incorporated some sounds and techniques from earlier records.
In My Poket - The Extremist Album anyone?
Anyway, absolutely beautiful job. You inspire me every day, and I hope you continue to create such fantastic music. All the best!

Joe I want thank you for getting me back into my home studio.
The new CD is great.
Love every song.
My sister passed away 2 years ago and i havn't been able to hit "record"
She was my bass player "Boomer".
But man your new CD did it for me.
After 45 years of playing guitar it's good to be back at it again.
My new tune when i get it done will be called "Thanks Joe"
So thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'm a fan and a player of all styles of music but instrumental rock is my fav.
And in that dept. you are the best always have been and always will be.
Thanks again

Joe, respect for you! But I think Vinnie - is good, Marco - bad, because Marco is soloist. I think Vinnie is the best drummer for all the time that you playing. "Can't go back" - bestest!

Shockwave Supernova is awesome. A masterpiece. All of the songs flow with the same theme except San Francisco Blue. Don't get me wrong, I like it but it doesn't fit with the other songs. I've moved it to my other Satch playlists....BTW, I purchased all of your music CD's, DVD's and digital downloads...huge fan. Thanks for allowing me to interact.....Hoov

So i was listening to the new album and reading the guitar world write up with Joe on each song! This album is so good the write up was good!
Now for me to say that this is the best album would be a lie, only because in my opinion all Joes albums are the best i live each and every one of them , Joe is a brillient man and I am glad to serve this life time with him.
If that makes sense!
