i'm pretty dissapointed right now, i was flippin through channels and came across crossroads, and i thought it would be the brittany spears crap, and then i noticed it was CMT so i info'ed it and it was the Steve Vai/Ralph Macchio good crossroads. and of course i only saw the last ten minutes where steve gets beat so unrealistically, i know he coulda played that last line without even thinking..... they should've made it more like a Batio thing sped times 5. that would be only a little impossible.

Hey e'erbody.

just dropping by to say congrats to joe, on making a CD that has inspired me more than ever to keep on keepin' on. I've come to the realization i'll never have a shred of the talent he or many of the people here have. but still, it's a fun pastime. i wish everyone, especially joe and crew the best.

1) i got a cd with the first tracks jumbled

2) i can't even really listen to or watch any of the new songs. i think that most of them sound like crud compared to the album. i'm sorry, but i'm being completely honest.

3) all the jams and what not seemed like absolute filler. nothing more than just taking up space to make the show almost as long as LISF.

I hate to say it, but i think this last project deserves about a 5 or 6 out of 10. i wish they could've gotten Dave ealier to practice the show more, and come out strong.

Hey. Just dropping a line. I'm PUMPED about this April release... Super Colossal is without a doubt my favorite album, and the best part is that is listenable enough that non-musicians can listen to. It's raw, powerful, and very honest. I really hope that this same feel shows up later this year!

Joe, you're my hero, always will be. Just watching you has taught me more about the guitar than anything else. You're probably the inspiration that's got me still playing. I hope to see you on tour this year. I'm graduating this year, and if I'm lucky my dad will either give me the gift of your new JSX head, or I'll get to meet you in person if you come by St. Louis! Hope to see you soon!

I feel dumb. Am I the only one who DIDN'T realize iTunes had Ghosts available as a bonus track before buying it somewhere else? *bangs head on wall*

GC Chicago was a great set Joe! I especially liked the way the Satch Boogie backing track ended. I wanted to ask a question but "Freak" couldn't see me... I was all the way in the back, one of the last to see you at the end. I understand if you don't get or see this, but my question was that, while you kept saying how the left hand had to be heavy or light for jazz/blues or speed, in general your playing style is very light on the left hand. But, your roots are in blues. What was it that pushed you into legato, or rather, how do you play so lightly and fluidly, while still maintaining that blues feel?

Again, thank you so very much for 20 years Joe!!!!! I was speechless getting to finally meet you after six years! The show last night was just fantastic. Glad to know that people who leave to pee don't get you down;)

Do the Stu/Keniko

Hey guys, the songs he played from the new album at Chicago were musterion, overdriver and diddle-y-a-doo-dat. My father and I got video of them but they're a little shaky as we were in the back and had to raise our arms to their max. I can share them if you'd like.

Keniko, I envy you getting to meet joe so much. Best of wishes!

Keniko

Youtube's down right now, and I've never posted vids before but you can be sure I will! As for the meeting Joe etc. I live in the St. Louis area, so I actually had to drive 5 1/2 hours with my dad out there. I've only seen Joe once aside from that show, and it was a school nite, so I left at 11 or so, and didn't get home until midnight. Which means no encore, or post-show etc. The Chicago show was really monumental for me, and I got a LOT of people asking me about it at school today. I'm sure I'll be able to see him again eventually though. Take care my friend! I'll let you know as soon as those videos hit youtube!

Keniko and Stu the Do!!!!! Those vids are finally on youtube. Visit my youtube account to see them. Shaky, but we both had to hold the camera almost straight above our heads. That, and I'm recovering from mono, so I still have coughing fits, etc.

Keniko Gracias amigo! The low volume of the show due to the backing tracks etc. helped the camera handle the sound. I actually offered to share the vids BECAUSE the sound was decent. Those pics you shared are REALLY cool too. That amp head is pretty sweet. I was close to getting one myself as a graduation present, but my dad decided on the Carvin V3 combo instead. Sorry, rambling! Take care.

Yea the V3 is fantastic, but it's just a little touchy. I've played both amps fairly extensively and I liked the more user-friendly knob layout of the JSX, and its tendency towards a good tone. The V3 requires a good deal of tweaking to get in your specific sound. Very worth it, but that's if you get there. Just too many unnecessary knobs IMO. Both have clean channels to die for though. The satchurator IS really cool. And what was the pedal Joe had for that "broken" sound? I LOVE that sound.

Keniko The knobs on both amps are very responsive. Both a blessing and a curse, because sometimes that magic tone is at around 4.97 here, and 6.2 there. As for effects, I'm very sparse on them. I have some, but for none other than entertainment purposes. I don't write with them, nor do emphasize the use of effects. They hinder my creativity. Sometimes they can add a special touch etc of course, but for the most part, it's hard to adapt a pedal to your sound instead of letting it make you adapt. You know?

Actually, another cd release to anticipate along with DT etc. might be Animals as Leaders. Really intense stuff. If you have a chance, check out their myspace http://www.myspace.com/animalsasleaders

I second Marioflatini's question:

Will there continue to be Satriani solo albums, even with Chickenfoot now in the picture?
