Hi everybody!

First post, first G3 experience, first time meeting Joe, what can I say, I'm still in heaven!
I'm a long time Steve Vai and Joe Satriani admirer and the G3 show in Madrid was amazing. I had the luck of winning "Meet and Greet" aftershow passes from Steve and had the opportunity to meet Joe too. Steve was very attentive to everyone and Joe was really nice!

Thanks for all Joe.

EDIT:

Here's my review of the show

Hi!

JMDS: Here are the lyrics of "LIfestyle" (thank you novjul)

You wake up in the mornin and you're smokin like a house on fire

Cause you been out all night and you're burnt down to the wire

I really love ya baby but you're puttin me through the fire

woh-oh

You're lifestyle is killin me

You're lifestyle is killin me

And if I don't do nothin bout it there'll be nothin left of me woh-oh

You're talkin too much boy you're drivin it way too fast

And you never make sense cause you're too busy havin a blast

I know we got no future cause you just can't remember the past

woh-oh

You're lifestyle is killin me

You're lifestyle is killin me

And if I don't do nothin bout it there'll be nothin left of me woh-oh

Packed my bags got one foot out the door

Cause I can't take one more night on the killin floor

I must be losin my mind cause I think I'm comin back for more

woh-oh

You're lifestyle is killin me

You're lifestyle is killin me

And if I don't do nothin bout it there'll be nothin left of me woh-oh

stop killin me

stop killin me

...

novjul: please can you put the lyrics of "I Like the Rain" here, I don't find them in your web (???)

Really interesting Joe's comments in the listening party. To hear the songs knowing Joe's inspiration sources makes them still more enjoyable.

novjul: thanks again for the lyrics

GuitarsRule: fantastic guitar playing (I love lydian mode)

Hello Satchland!

IbanezGuitarist: Completing the info given by 962 (Simon D) I want to add some things: all these Vai symbols (777, Eye etc) are about Metaphisics.
Check this out: http://www.vai.com/FanForum/answers.html
Light Without Heat: The Steve Vai slogan for excellence, is about spiritual enlightenment and inner power.
About 777: http://pages.globetrotter.net/sdesr/nu777.htm

patberk The first time I saw T2J I thought: What a mix-up!!!!!. Now I love it. This kind of forum-chat-message board includes everything but showed in a warm special way. You can say, comment and ask what you want about Joe or whatever you like, there's always a cool t2jer that answers your question. And you can talk to Joe, although the possibility is 1/1000 But the possibility really exists!

But if you're still looking for a typical message board check out Satchland http://www.satriani.com/perl/2004/fansite

Everyone Good reviews guys, but what about the setlist? I join to the setlist request!

achoo ¡Hola Tobias!

Some more practice for you, Happy Sunday!

Btw, in Chicago three shows in a row, woooow!

(Trans. Today it's a rainy and grey day here in Madrid but I don't mind because "I Like the Rain". From La Riviera, where Joe usually plays here, you can see a beautiful sight of The Royal Palace of Madrid, an important historical place.)

(Trans: Hey Patricio, buddy, a pleasure to help you! T2J is a classic in this web and what's going on here is very spontaneous but if you are not into this scene....I've heard that Joe's new setlist is amazing with many unusual songs!, I'm going to have to cross the Pond! lol)

bahduh, that guitarist is JOHN MCLAUGHLIN, I have the album and it's excellent from beginning to end. It's not a Sting album, it's a tribute to Jimi Hendrix with orchestral arrangements featuring great guitarists like Steve Lukather, Brian May, Steve Vai...

bahduh, hi, how are things? well, I'm not really related to Seve Ballesteros, the golf champion, it's a common surname in Spain especially in Madrid, there are loads of Ballesteros here he he
And I don't like golf very much, I think it's boring and too expensive for me. And that little white ball makes me soooo nervous LOL. I prefer riding my bike...
Talking about the album In from the Storm, I remember an interview with the producer Eddie Kramer on TV, back in 1995, and he said that one of Jimi Hendrix's wishes was to record his music by a symphonic orchestra. This album satisfies to some extent that wish. Vinnie Moore is not in it.Link for more info
IMHO It would have been simply perfect if Joe had been in this album but well...his friend and most outstanding former guitar student is there :-). An interesting album.

Russell Carpenter, about the song "The Journey", I perceive more a spiritual journey than a phisical journey but I don't know...it's simply art

Greetings from Spain to all the T2J community and to you, JOE!

Hi everyone!
A little Satch story today, it's a sunny day in Madrid and I went some shopping. Well, in a shoe store located in the plain center of Madrid, they were putting The Electric Joe Satriani - An Anthology!!!!! I couldn't help the emotion :-)

Noppa, 'Child in Time' by Deep Purple, Ian Gillan's spiral of screams... I specially love the version with Joe following the screams on the guitar, amazing.

bahduh, hi, that incident at the friendly Spain-England football or soccer match last wednesday, well, the fact is that because of four dumbs that are always putting their foot in it, they all get covered in.
The great majority of Spanish football fans are not racist at all, the same as English football fans are all not hooligans. I think English press in particular has exaggerated the matter describing Spanish football fans as 'racists'. Perhaps they are using this to discredit the country because we are direct rivals for the Olympics 2012 celebration, I don't know.
Anyway, that stupid part of the crowd that were making the monkey noises uh uh every time a black player touched the ball don't know that there are things we can't play with.
Ah, talking about football, precisely today takes place the biggest derby match in the national football league here in Spain: Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona!!!! What's the most popular sport in India? best wishes

I can't wait to see the EWJS webcast!

Hi everyone!

Noppa: "Ian Gillan on 'Child In Time' in a version where Joe imitates the screams with his guitar"; Wow!... 1. Is that
recorded? 2. (if yes) Is it available somewhere??... Ian's voice on that one has always been extremely passionate... and I know -as you all- that Joe's guitar can be the most passionate!... what a choice.

Oh yes, it's recorded. I have it on a bootleg from the '93 show in Osaka. It's an unofficial release called 'The Battle', photo here. Hard to find, you can download the song here. I have uploaded it for everyone interested :-)

bahduh: what du yu have to say about barcas' performance

Ohhhhh! Barsa swept Real Madrid aside!!!!!!!! Barsa played harder and more efficient than Real Madrid and played with a more team mentality. Their defense was better too. I'm really disappointed with the 'Galacticos'. Real Madrid ultimately is more focused on developing as a marketing vehicle than as a soccer team, and that's a pity. I'm not a soccer real fan but I prefer Real Madrid than Barsa because is the team of my city, I live near the Bernabeu ;-), all the best

marimariSRV: Joe...You bring to our lives great joy! I (We) shall always be incredibly thankful to you.....not just one day a year.....every day I give thanks for your incredible gift! You inspire so many people in so many ways you've never imagined...

Beautiful message, I agree with you.

Michelle, Congrats for your 2000!

Joe, Madrid loves you!!!!!!!!

pp0, sorry for disturbing...;-), just to say that it would be cool a G3 with Eddie Van Halen. They came close in the summer of 2003 to doing an Eddie Van Halen and Jeff Beck G3!!!!!! But in the end came to nothing.

Nass, oh yes, I agree, Yngwie is amazing. But IMHO, his latest albums are not as good as his previous, he repeats himself a lot. I think Yngwie needs to develop his talent further away. At this point Joe & Steve wins. But anyway I was watching the other day his DVD Concerto Suite for Electric Guitar and Orchestra and it's thrilling.

mohawk, I think he's one of the few hard neo-classical guitarists who has real feeling. He's capable to play superfastly but still with feeling.
