Ciao Joe This is Joe in Calgary and I just wanted to say that G3 with Steve and Yngwie was fantastic;I enjoyed it very much. Joe I was wondering if you'd consider doing a vocal album, with a singer or you could do the vocals. I'm talking about all the tracks having vocals. It's a side of you we've gotten a glimpse of and I personally would like to see more of it. I would still like there to be a guitar solo in every song cause I really like your guitar solos, and you must but together a band where each member has a voice that comes through in your compositions. I'm not suggesting that this hasn't been the case up until now but I really think you in a "band" as one the prime movers is something worth exploring. Regardless of where your destiny takes you I will come along for the ride when I'm able. Love you and your music Joe. Thanks very much for putting some beauty into the world.

Joe hi. I hope all is going well with you I just wanted to post my thoughts on your music-for what they're worth. I love your music but I'm not to thrilled with the musicians you've been working with. Yes they're more then capable of playing your music but I think you need to stretch and play with musicians who have more personality. Musicians that can add something of themselves to your music instead of just keeping the beat, or supporting your amazing guitar. Neil Peart on drums, pick a young hungry "up-and-coming" bassist, and lets see what happens.

Also, the encores for the G3 shows have been boring and very dissappointing. With Yngwie I would have loved to hear you all play "Trilogy Suite Op:5" as and encore. "Rockin In The Free World" was terrible! After Neil played the definative version on "Saturday Night Live" did you three really think there was any more that could be done with that song? How about a "Van Halen" song or "Led Zepplin" song or "Incubus" song or a "T-Ride" song(I'll bet not many have heard of T-Ride and would love to see you guys play their stuff for the encore) How about a "KIngs X" song?

Further, your look sucks. Sorry, it does, take your sun-glasses off when your on stage and dress flashier. I would also like to see you use those lovely hand painted guitars instead of the "Silver Surfer" ones. Your look needs updating.

What ever happens thanks for making music Joe. You have at times made me cry with your playing-Strange Beautiful Music describes it perfectly. All the best to you and those you love.

Joe in Calgary. Canada.

I saw the new video and all I have to say is that it's flawless in execution but boring. Joe you are a brilliant musician but don't you think it's time to interact with other musicians to try something different and interesting? The scenes used as the back drop are just as boring as the bass and drums and there is no passion in song or video. You are in a rut not a grove and I'm dissappointed at this first offering from the new CD. I hope the rest is a lot more passionate. Yes I'll still buy it but you need to get into a band and fast!!!!!

I just finised watching the post of the newest DVD and it's been a long time since Joe has played with that much passion and intensity-Surfing With The Alien, War, maybe? All your music is great Joe-seriously but I found myself thinking while watching your live concerts and listening to the last few CD's that something was missing. I have all your recordings but after watching them once I put them away. Not since the Extremist, ok and Time Machine have I really gone back to listen a second time. I like Dave Larue he brings the fire of Stu but has managed to maintain a softness to his playing despite his virtuosity. He steps up in the new piece of music when it's needed and I like that too. Matt was always way to far in the back ground for me. Even Jeff(is that Jeff on drums)managaes to make a contribution to the music rather then just keeping the beat. God the last couple of recording it could have been a drum machine and no one would have known the difference. I also think your on stage presence is not all it could be because your theme of late has been black. Everything in black with no color is boring. Your music is all about color and the excitement, passion and saddness, happiness and joy. Black all black is just Blah. Ok that's my 2 cents. Looking forward to watching the new DVD hope you make back to Calgary Canada someday. Australia's a long way away Canada's in your back-yard. Love yah Joe. All the best, Joseph in Calgary, Canada.

Joe hey,

I got the new DVD and I have to say I'm disappointed. The song you posted on your site was good;the best performance on the DVD in my opinion but the rest is flat. Dave is on way to tight a leash. Do some unison runs, and write a song with a bass solo in it. Let him really be a member of your band not just a supporter.

The drums are unremarkable. Except for the song you posted it could be a drum machine;if I wasn't watching I would never know there was a live person playing drums with you. This person is your friend and loyalty should be rewarded with backstage passes for example but not by making him your drummer.

Your tone has gotten worse over the years. The amp you're using or the effects or whatever it is makes your guitar sound like all the notes are coated with a film of plastic.

Also, the encores you do at G3 have been insulting. You guys take a song like "Rockin In The Free World" you do it no better then the original and you through in three boring solos. If you saw Neil performing this song on SNL you'd know how it should be done. Encore a Zepplin, Rush, Van Halen, Hendrix, T-Ride, Metallica, Refused, Triumph, or Yngwie Malmsteen song for example. Make it special for us. Aren't we worth it?
