I don't know that you'll remember me, but I came to see you in Concord at Tower Records on the 13th. I was one of the last in line....the short, italian lady with the black leather jacket that you signed for me. I drove up from Cambria, about 4 hour drive, just because the opportunity was there and your music has brought much inspiration to my life. Your talent is something I've never seen before. Your music is "strange and beautiful." And, after meeting you, well, you're just adorable. My son is 17 and has been playing guitar for about 2 years now. I got him his first guitar free from a friend. It looked like an imitation Les Paul. The next guitar I gave him was one I own off a local rock station in San Luis Obispo. And, in Feburary I stumbled across the website, MusiciansFriend.com. This is where I purchased his esp vipor, for a birthday present. He has completely taught himself and actually does quite well. I recently turned him on to your music, and he's very interested in learning how to play like you. We watched your DVD's tonight. He was pretty blown away! I really think he is serious about playing and learning all there is to know. How can he teach himself to play the way you do? I know it's not that simple, of course. But, maybe you have some suggestions. Books, materials, private lessons(just joking!!!) I have entered your sweepstakes and if by chance I win, I'd love to give my son the opportunity to experience music at it's very best. He said to me tonight, while watching your DVD live in Denver, "He doesn't need to sing Mom, his music sings for him." And, he's right, there's no need for words, the music says it all. You are a beautiful and talented man. It was a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Satriani. Perhaps, we will meet again........................someday.

Joe, I understand you live up in the bay area, do you have any kind of events (signings, appearences, etc.) coming up at the end of this month? I'll be in that area for a concert and thought I'd check it out. If not...I'll see ya at the The Greek Theatre in September. Also, I was at a friend's house last night and listened to a CD of yours, that I haven't ever seen...........it was titled "The Experiment", or some'in along those lines. I really liked the last song on that track, called New Blues????? Anyway, it was very likeable. Well, every song is likeable, let's face it! But, this one was an instant favorite for me. I've checked a couple on-line music stores, but no sign of it. Any suggestions??

P.S. - I'm still waiting for you to respond to my last email........

Peace,

Marcelle

Hey Austin,

I went to the signing Joe had at Tower Records in Concord a couple months back. Very Cool.

I won't find out exactly what seat I will be in until I get my ticket in the mail. They mail 'em about 2 weeks before the show, I guess. But, I do know that I am guarenteed a seat in Row 1 thru 5. How 'bout you?

Never been to "The Greek", but have heard it's a great place for a show. Am much looking forward to this concert, I've never seen him in concert (besides his DVD's, of course). I know I am going to be amazed, to say the least.

Dave,

No, I didn't take it the wrong way........I just had to make a joke out of it, 'cuz it was kinda embarressing. I was way "off key". Not to worry, I'm cool. But, thanks for the concern.

Take it Easy........

Austin,

I heard that Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy are to perform at this concert, as well. And, actually, heard that Joe isn't suppose to perform for very long. Have you heard anything like this?

By the way, I meant to ask you..........noticed you're a Bass player, do you, by chance, know Mike Bennett?? He's a Bass player for a hot local band in this area, known him for years. Anyway, he's very talented. Definitely the best bass player around this area. My best friend's boyfriend is the drummer for the band, Tommy Souza.(very hot drummer). Ted Davantzis is the songwriter, lead guitarist and leader of the band. They've really got it together. They Rock n' Roll! They're playing at the Whiskey Go-Go at the end of this month and opening for "Stix" in Ventura next month. A great bunch of guys! If you get a chance, you should check 'em out at The Whiskey. The name of the band is Maximum Force.
