ROYAL ALBERT HALL/ BACKSTAGE

Where are people sitting for g3?, i'm in the stalls quite far back, i had no money for ages cos im only 15 so i couldn't get tickets early(anyone know how well i can see from there..( although it would still be great if you were just peaking through a little crack from the outside) Also with the backstage thing sureley it's really easy to just give yourself multiple entries, even though that's just lame, or did they find a way of preventing it, or maybe everyone here is nice, (i hope).

p.s you probably won't care, but i got the last set of 3 stall seats from wayahead, if i'd waited longer i may have been in the balcony so i was kind of lucky there :)

Satch definately taught kirk, although he wasn't his first teacher, i read somewhere he had 10 lessons before kill 'em all. He was already an established thrash guitarist by then, playing for exodus, then metallica stole him :D. So i imagine his technique would have already been established too. The solos in ride the lightning/ puppets are quite satchish. Now he's gone back to pentatonic stuff instead of using modes and stuff. HE can still pull it all off though, i was against the barrier for a metallica gig, he can still play bloody fast.

Gear Advise:

This is for bass players really(sorry 6 stringers(unless you play 6 string bass, i don't know maybe you 10 or 12 ar 8)) anyway anyone tried an ibanez pd-7 bass overdrive phat head something , heard mostly good things so i was thinking of buying it, Other recomendations?, not boss odb-3, tried and hated it.

Just thought i'd let people know i came second in my school's battle of the bands, we would have won, only we;ve never actually practiced completely as a full band the only other times we'd played together was the audition and the sound check, so very pleased :) I won a gig bag :s

I downloaded the entire bootleg video for free of metallica 20th december at earls court, couldn't see myself tho, i was too near the front :D. Seriously i was too near, it was painful to be crushed by 1000's on to a metal barrier with only a bag with a jumper inside it infront of you. Got an incredible view though.

I was quite looking forward to seing Stu, nevermind, still get to see Billy Sheehan. And Matt is a good bassist. Robert is playing completely solo apparently

went to albert hall last nice, good show, Vai and his band was absolutely phenomenal, didn't think much of fripp, his set was really boring in all honesty, his solos were ok at the end but didn't compare. Satch was very good, his support band could have been better. Vai's set was 1 of the best i've seen at any gig ever for the love of god was just wow. P.s did anyone here me shout "shut up we know you can play" at the end of juice?
