Criek - I play Summer Song in the band I'm in. The only advice II can give without hearing you play is to pay attention to the rhythm parts. They lead you to the key changes very well. Which is nice bbecause each new section is in a different key from the previous. Other than that just enjoy what you are playing and if it doesn't sound exactly like Joe don't panic. You also what to sound like you. Good luck. If you would like a backing track to play with send me you address and I'll email it to you.
Mine is civgeek@yahoo.com

Mr.Nick - Happy 20th. The worst B-day in the US. Old enough to fight but too young to drink.

Ibanez89 - I would have to concur with 962 on the Chromie. Right now there is one for sale, used, at my local store for 3000 US. Can't see the new one being any less.

Suzie - Lookin' forward to the pics of the new digs.

Big Bad Moon - I believe that until the JSX Joe used a modified DS-1. I believe it was the Robert Keeley pedal. I know that Vai still uses it. Tone Ahoy!

Zinc - The Viagra post was definately one of the best you've put up.

JSJS - But now that you are up early just think of how much Math you can study today!!! Woohoo!! Love those integrals.

962 That could be true about the pedals I'm working with an older brain. It don't function like it used to. LOL

The kids used my soap yesterday and didn't put it back. Soooo, this morning I have to use my wife's 'Body Wash' and now I can't outrun this smell of oranges. Damn it!! I love the smell of citrus, but it is on my hands and it's making my coffee taste funny. So a tip guys, if there is no soap in the shower wake someone up, cause you don't want to go through what I am goin' through now.

Suzie - I totally understand. While my home kaputer is only 5 years old I am spoiled by having access to all the latest tech here at school. The guy I do research for makes sure that we are up to date as much as possible. So what are did you move into? (like I know England) Is it city, country, suburbia...? I don't have a pic of my digs but here is a birds eye view This a pretty cool site for the area I'm in have fun.

Parker - It's there. I have 2 crappy classes, Electrical Circuts and Chem II, and 2 Cool ones, Jazz Guitar combos and Geology. How's life in Okieville? Where did you guys move from anyway?

Mikesb – I’m going through the sight-reading blues a bit myself. I have to know ‘An Afternoon In Paris’ By tomorrow at 3PM and have some method of soloing over the changes. The soloing part shouldn’t too hard, ii-V-I, in a couple different keys. But the head. I’m so not used to playing what someone else wants me to.LOL

Since you people were begging for more here’s a little diddy that brightened my day a few times in high school.
I know you know this so sing along.
Don-don-da-dant

Here in my car
I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live
In cars

Here in my car
I can only receive
I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days
In cars

Here in my car
The image breaks down
Will you visit me please
If I open my door
In cars

Here in my car
I know I've started to think
About leaving tonight
Although nothing seems right
In cars

I know I've started to think
I know I've started to think

Mikesb - Funny you should ask that. I got in the shower this morning and ,of course, my soap hadn't made it back yet. Kids!! I looked at the fruity soap and just couldn't do it. I dripped all over the bath and got the hand soap from the sink instead. Much better. As for Gary, I have one of those brains that are on ten different things at once. Makes it hard to concentrate but.. Anyway, My brother and I say that are brains are like theaters with different conversations going on. If you've been in a theater you know that there is always a guy in the back row causing trouble. That is the guy that comes up with these songs. Hopefully that explains things a little. If not you can Shoot a poison arrow through my heart.

If I were to say to you
"Can you keep a secret?"
Would you know just what to do
Or where to keep it?
Then I say "I love you,"
And the foul situation
"Hey girl, I thought we were
The right combination."

Who broke my heart?
You did, you did
Bow to the target,
Blame Cupid, Cupid
You think you're smart
Stupid, Stupid

CHORUS:
Shoot that poison arrow to my heart
Shoot that poison arrow
Shoot that poison arrow to my heart
Shoot that poison arrow

No rhythm in cymbals
No tempo in drums
Love on arrival
She comes when she comes
Right on the target
But wide of the mark
What I thought was fire
Was only the spark
The sweetest melody is an unheard refrain
So lower your sights
Yeah but raise your aim
Raise you aim

Who broke my heart?
You did, you did
Bow to the target,
Blame Cupid, Cupid
You think you're smart
Stupid, Stupid.

CHORUS
"I thought you loved me but it seems you don't care."
"I care enough to know I can never love you."

Who broke my heart?
You did, you did
Bow to the target
Blame Cupid
You think you're smart
That's stupid
Right from the start
When you knew we would part

Cuthbert - I don't understand why DWB would want you to stop sending them money. Low overhead or not, medical supplies cost. The more donations the more supplies. I'm involved with Engineers w/o Borders as well as Northwest Medical teams. The two top things that are needed by either outfit is time and money. In that order, but the great thing about money is that you don't have a time frame in which to use it. There may be some end of year accounting things that I don't know about (I can ask the wife), with regards to not-for-profits, but you would think that to have a little extra in the coffers would be a good thing.

Cuth - I have thousands of songs in my head. These are just the ones I felt would be the most annoying.LOL My family is very musical and I have at one concert performance or another played guitar, sax (tenor,alto,bass), trombone, trumpet, piano, baritone, congas, steel drums, and I used to sing. But with all that I still mostly listen to guitar oriented stuff in the rock, jazz, and fusion realms. Posting the lyrics to There's Only One Way to Rock is not nearly as fun as;

I got this strange fascination
For this chick, down the hall
Reliable information, Yeah
Says she ain't givin' up the ball
But Saturday night, I'll be checkin' it out
From the back of my van........

Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Havin' a ball
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Writing on the wall......

Just yesterday, my friend got busted
She came home, smellin' like smoke
It's such a shame, when your not trusted
She only had one little toke
Yeah, the fear that you might fall
It's driving you up, the wall.........

Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Havin' a ball
OW!
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Writing on the wall..........

{guitar/keyboard solo} Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Havin' a ball
WHOO!
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Writing on the wall
(Yeah!)
Fast Times at Ridgeemont High
Havin' a ball
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

This one is actually serious

I found this on Sammy's site and thought I would share.

Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone, in a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone. I had come down the chimney with presents to give and to see just who in this home did live. As I looked all about, a strange sight did I did see... No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree. No stocking by the fire, just boots filled with sand. On the wall hung pictures of a far distant land.

With medals and badges, awards of all kind, a sobering thought soon came to my mind. For this house was different, unlike any I'd seen. This was the home of a U.S. Marine.

I'd heard stories about them, I had to see more, so I walked down the hall and pushed open the door. And there he lay sleeping, silent, alone. Curled up on the floor of his one bedroom home.

He seemed so gentle, his face so serene. Not how I pictured a U.S. Marine. Was this the hero of whom I'd just read? Curled up in his poncho, a floor for his bed?

His head was clean shaven, his face weathered tan. I soon understood this was more than a man. For I realized the families that I saw that night, owed their lives to these men, who were willing to fight.

Soon around the nation, the children would play, and grown-ups would celebrate on a bright Christmas day. They all enjoyed freedom, each month and all year, because of Marines like this one lying here.

I couldn't help wonder how many lay alone, on a cold Christmas eve in a land far from home. Just the very thought brought a tear to my eye. I dropped to my knees and I started to cry.

He must have awoken, for I heard a rough voice, "Santa, don't cry. This is my choice. I fight for freedom, I don't ask for more. My life is my God, my Country, my Corps."

With that he rolled over, drifted off into sleep. I couldn't control it, I continued to weep. I watched him for hours, so silent and still. I noticed he shivered from the cold night's chill.

So I took off my jacket, the one made of red, and covered this Marine from his toes to his head. Then I put on his T-shirt of scarlet and gold, with an eagle, globe and anchor emblazoned so bold.

And although it barely fit me, I began to swell with pride, and for one shining moment, I was Marine Corps deep inside. I didn't want to leave him, so quiet in the night, this guardian of honor so willing to fight.

But half asleep he rolled over, and in a voice clean and pure, said, "Carry on Santa. It's Christmas Day, all secure." One look at my watch and I knew he was right. Merry Christmas my friend, Semper Fi, and goodnight.

Wednesday's Soap Update.....
This morning, since I got a nasty elbow from my wife with along with a request to turn over and "Stop that F#$%in' snoring !" I was a little more coherent as I stumbled to the bathroom. Therefore, I managed, in the dark, without my glasses mind you, to waddle my fat ass to the other bathroom where in the cubbard awaiting me like a beacon of nice smelling clean was a brand new bar of Dial soap. This is not my usual soap. I am a bit of the princess and normally use Aveda soap or sometimes we will get all "earthy" and make our own soap. But, Hail, today I am clean AND I don't have that feeling of being chased by an orange every where I go. So far a good day.

Mikesb - I love Brian Setzer. That guy has a great vibe when he's playing. Having spent a lot of years playing in a big band I really dig the new stuff also. Nothin like having the horns popping behind you as you're soloing. Awesome stuff.

Sotd:

Everyone get their white cowboy outfit and sing (If you don't get that joke I'll post later on it)

With the heartbreak open So much you can't hide Put on a little makeup makeup Make sure they get your good side good side

If the words unspoken Get stuck in your throat Send a treasure token token Write it on a pound note pound note

CHORUS: Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? Subtle innuendos follow There must be something inside

We don't follow fashion That would be a joke You know we're going to set them set them So everyone can take note take note

When they saw you kneeling Crying words that you mean Opening their eyeballs eyeballs Pretending that you're Al Green Al Green

No one's gonna tell me What's wrong or what's right Or tell me who to eat with sleep with Or that I've won the big fight big fight

Look out or they'll tell you You're a "Superstar" Two weeks and you're an all time legend I think the games have gone much too far

If the words unspoken Get stuck in your throat Send a treasure token token Write it on a pound note pound note

Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? Don't drink don't smoke - what do you do? (repeat) Subtle innuendos follow, must be something inside
