Satriella - Robert Randolph and the Family band opened for Santana. Great player. He playes a lap steel like nobody's business.

Peace and Guitars - I'm in college (university for the peeps of European location) right now. I have a lot on my plate. The best advise I got was " Just graduate!" The rest will work out. For most most things nobody cares what your GPA was. They care if you can do the job. I know that the place where I work the resumes with the super high GPAs go in the round file. So... just graduate.

Satriella - Yes I have and it was a damn good show.

Climber - I play with my pinky down to give me a place of reference for my hand that's all. My good buddy playes with all his fingers tucked. He is just as god and as fast as I am. I think it is just a comfort thing. The biggest thing to do is relax. The more relaxed the faster you can move. That and small motions from the wrist. And of course practice, practice with a metronome.

kd6aaj - Congrats!! nice to hear that work is going well. Pop in more often if you can.

Blue Moon - I saw the little discussion on the inversions and thought I would chime in. If you have a C maj. chord, C-E-G, first in version is E-G-C. I believe this cannot be a sus chord because of the 3rd bieng present. I think a sus chord replaces the 3rd with the 2nd or 4th. Thus the E-G-C would be more like an Em13. I think that's right. If not hopefully someone will correct me.

What a jacked up week. My sister-in-law is a nut job. We started talking about deisel engines and the environmental effects they have and 5 minutes later I'm EVIL and a lying prick. BIZZARRRRR!! My wife is like "What the F^*&k just happened?" So, the S-i-L is moving out because she can't live in the same house with me and be the best person she can be. Whatever. All because we have different commitment level with regards to the Earth. So, that happens and I also get a call from our guitar player that he has accepted a job in Connecticut. For those that don't know that is on the east caoast of the US, Portland is on west. So... we are aaagghh-ditioning another guitarist today. I hope it goes good. I just want to play out!! Sorry to vent poeple, but it needed to happen. Anyway , being the optimost that I am next week looks much better. Addition by subrtraction.

Here's to a good rehearsal!!

82DeanZ - Nice pics of the JS build. I especially liked the one at Hearst's Castle.

Well the week has ended better than it started. We had a guy come in and play pretty well. He is more of a bluesy type player, not real flashy or fast, but hey that's my job!!. He's a bit older than me which now makes me (at 38) the baby of the group. I think he s going to be a good addition. Nice temperment, can sing, experience, good gear, lots of song knowledge and has played out for a while and has some contacts. Keep your fingers crossed and I'll keep you up to date.

82 DeanZ - Trevi Fountain!! I knew I had seen that fountain before. My bad. Hearst Castle was all I could come up with. I see youu're in Dublin. I was born and raised in Hayward. Was down in The Bay over Xmas. Man, I had forgoten how big the raindrops are in CA. Up here it rains a lot but we don't get a lot of rain. Houston gets more than we do. Anyway, nice work in the JS.

82DeanZ - Joe's hands are not that big. He is quite limber though. If you watch him play some of those runs, he tends to get neck closer to vertical than normal. This exagerated classical position gives you a bit more reach. Try it and let me know. I'm not quite sure of the passage you are referring to but I'm a little guy (5'7") and have no problem reaching 3 to 8. Oh, one other idea is to play the passage on a lower string thereby reducing the distance between frets. Good Luck.

Du the Stu - Crongrats to you, too. It's nice to have a job in the field of your study. And the money doesn't hurt either.

Had our first practice with the new lineup. Went very well It's nice to have guys that can sing. We were throwin down some cool harmonies. Well time to make dinner. Ya'll have a great night.

Shredguy - Blown tubes...That's interesting. The same thing happened to Joe at the JSX promo he did here in Portland. Brand new amp and halfway through the tube blew. I wonder if the tubes the amps are coming with are funky.I would be interested to see if there are more people that have had this problem.

OME - Cast my Vote this Mornin. You were on top at 51, up 11 on the nearest competitor.

ocps470 - It almost seems like the factory got a bad batch of tubes or they didn't screen them as well as they should. Granted, I'm new to the tube amp life (I've only played one rehearsal through the new Boogie, sounded awesome by the way) FOr the tubes to go out that fast... Seems fishy.

VF Rocker - Hey, how the hell are ya? How'sthe newbie and the wife? Post some pics. I hope things are going well for you. Down to 18 mos. of school. Next June will not come fast enough!!.

For the record Heather Locklear gets better lookin every year. Poor Ritchie. Of course, now that she's single ... You think she likes younger men?

Zinc Master - Mozilla is the only way to go!! I only use IE at work because I have to. We got some nasty spyware on ouir home computer using IE but have had no problems at all with Mozilla. In fact sometimes it's too good and you have to turn the blocker down a bit.

Gotta Have Joe - Kayla sent you freind request to your MySpace.

Master Yoda -Good luck with the new guitarist search. Hopefully it won't take you as long as it did us.
