Chee - The concern shouldn't be whether or not to go but whether or not your goin g to come back. You may end up staying there.
Dave DC - I'm 41 and got real close to being signed a couple times. I've played for 5 and I've played for 10,000. I took about 10 years off somewhere in the middle and started a family. But regardless if I'm playing a dive bar in WA or singing with my kids I get sheer joy from playing. If playing is part of you, you will always do it. And if there are 5 peaple give those 5 all you have to give. They will be better for it. But don't get discouraged. Remember "It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock-n-roll!"

Wow been a while since I put some time into a message.
Castle 49 - Have you left Santa Barbara yet?
I recently got Pablo's SFBADR. I like it a lot. Whenever I listen to him he inspires me to practice.
The band is going well. It's been a year since we last overhauled the songlist. SO... we are currently filtering through a 200+ songlist for new songs.
I am back playing my RG but have my eye on a new S series. This time I'm going for the 24 fret version. I like the string tension better. But first I really need to upgrade my amp. Still have hopes of landing one of the new JVMs. Not a big Marshall guy but I have not been able to get that amp to sound bad.
I have my state test to take in Oct, then I'm going to start looking for an original band to get into. I've had to turn down a few inquires recently and it is really starting to piss me off. i need more hours in the day so that I can fit in all I want to do. *sigh*{br]

Do the Stu - Haven't got the new album yet. Been upping my prog collection a bit more. No roadies either. I have lots of house projects and some new gear that I want. Unfortunately most of the dinero is going into the house...but there is still hope for some new gear.

Chee - As for the iPod. I just have a 4Gig nano. I find that
1. I don't need to carry all that music around. I mean really how many songs can you listen to in a day.
2. The Nanos are just flash memory. Therefore no moving part so less things to break or go wrong. Mine has even been through the washing machine. I don't recommend that though.

BTW: A guy over at Petrucci's forum figured out a way to make BTs from 5.1 recordings. It's really cool cause it's like you're actually playing with DT.

The band and I did some live recording the other weekend. I am really bummed as I messed up coming back into the main melody of Summer Song. My GMP sits about a fret and a half more to the left then my Ibanez. I was pissed cause I played the rest of the song really well. Maybe next time. We should have some stuff up in the next couple months I'll keep ya'll posted.

Hey there everyone. CIVGEEK is back in the house! Just wanted to roll in and see what the haps was with the new CD. Off to get mine this afternoon. Really looking forward to it.
