I couldn't believe it when a friend told me the last man on G3 tour (2003 G3 tour). I always dreamed about this feature when i was a child. The always cool Satch, with the extravagance and that million of incredible notes from Mr. Steve Vai and... that magic sounds from that so fast hands who could play from Paganini to Hendrix, with just that strat... like a wizard who makes fire just with his hands: Mr. Malmsteen. You know... child's dreams

Really I'm fan of you three. And so much people can say that Malmsteen is out. So much between that two great guitarrist as Satch and Vai. But I can tell them that I saw Malmsteen just one time, so short... and there was something around that man. It seems like magic !. It's good to play fast, to be the fastest-arpegio-man and so on... but I think there's something more on this man. His own-unique feeling, I think. Somepeople tell me I'm crazy when I talk about Yngwie's feeling, but I do. I think it can be sawed better with acoustic guitar. I could write a lot of you and Steve, but so many people does it, doesn't they? And I haven't heard anyword about the great choose for this G3, as great as previous.

I think it's one of the best concerts to see, anyone of the G3 tours it is. One of the best ideas I've ever seen. Really it's good for guitarrist. I couldn't explain how much I've learned since I saw that G3's jams and I tought: I wanna do something like that. Maybe that's what you thought when you saw Jimmie or Buddy Guy playing.

So glad because there's still great musicians playing the blues... from Lonnie Johnson, Art Tatum... and so many others that made a great music from just that three chords...

zenfish:

thanks for the observation of the three chords; also I like that words about the bluesmen crying the blues and making jazz

things of life, really I like jazz and being playin (trying to play, u know) Coltrane's Blues so long. When talking about three chords I think about all chords around the three, Art Tatum he did it very well. Also we can talk about just three chords, or about just one ! That' s the way of Miles Davis' cool on the 50's, few chords... but exploding them possibilities at all. less chords: more possibly tunes, notes, melodies... u know (Davis knew...) The same Satch got songs with just one chord, like woodstock jam from Time machine. Too chromatic, too technically... but just around the same chord all time. Isn't it? Satch and his boys gives a lot of colours colours to that chord, I think

do u like diatonic harmonica? it's another good example of that three chords (really two) u must play with so much feeling to play it ok.

So... my favorite guitar man is D. Reinhardt (sorry Joe, I like u so much too) and he didn't just play three chords, but the simple way is another good way to play, I think.

Anyway thanks a lot for ur reading and comment; just think about anychord from the Real-Book could be played in a Blues... and anysong in a Blue-way

Look at Satch: he's the best, and still playing the Blues...

Peace !!!!!!!

Youn Bernie

if u really play guitar 3months ago and wanna starting at the end, u could try to look for any book of Satch lesson's. They are not expensive at all, and u can buy it at any music-instruments-shop.

This books got lots of lessons for a Guitar-journal (maybe Guitar-Player) and belive me: there's one thing about Satch I think is so much far from anyone more. His way of teaching. Maybe just his way of writing Guitar-artichles, who knows

U could fell ur improve when playing that Teaching-Songs. at all Impossibles at the beginning and getting little better any day, any month... anytime u practice or expande it for the rest of ur life.

There are lots of Teaching-Books and Videos from a lot of people, most of them giving u his own technics, his own tricks, and his own secrets. But i think Satch is the best, and be sure learning with Satch is great, he gives u the secrets of music, with examples and songs, more than his own way of playing, I think. (unless lookin for his own songs too)

Playing by ear, like u told us, is one of his favorite lessons, and I remember one excercise from Lennie Tristano that JOE give us in an Arthicle. Believe me, is a good thing for ur ears (for anyone) to do that excercise about the ear and the improvisation so often... or just once a week.

Another one is a song called Endless Rain, recalled by his own students "Endless Pain" because the pain on hands doing that 24-chords kind rule. If u can play that 24 chords (or anysong on that books) at time and can imagine melodies on ur mind while doing it, make sure u are in a good way for improve earing. And u will learn (maybe unknowing it) many things Satch he show us about music's heart.

Maybe u could find it (the book lessons) at this Satch-Official Page. And I can tell u is one of the best things that guitarrist (all Satch fans we are?) can buy. Well, maybe anyone of G3concert-Video it is. I'd like to give u anyreference, but...

...I dont find it ! Just look for didactic arthicles from Satch (in the middle-late 80's) and u'll find it. Oh, remember, it's satrting at the end... look for anyfriend who plays and play with someone not less time than alone, I think it's a good way

And remember: listen Joes's music if u really wanna play his songs, his way... GOOD LUCK !

HEY EVERYBODY !!!!

Could anybody tell me what kind of acoustic guitar is played on "Tears in the Rain"? Studio takes, please (The extremist) Any guitar on tour for this song?

Thanks a lot !

HEY PEOPLE

Does anybody here remember that film wit Steve Vai and Ralph Maccio with that marvelous duel-guitar?
"Crossroads" was its name. At last Maccio (and obviuslly Mr. Vai, but maybe anyone more, like Ray Cooder, playing slide on credits?) plays a Meddley about 24Capriches of Paganini (I know the 5th, ja), things of life, Malmsteen's first-favorite-album.

It would be great to see it (all jam, that is not too different from any G·moments) in their Satch-Vai way, and so much with Malmsteen, the three playing like that duel. I need to see that DVD, 2003G3Tour. Slow-connection doesn't let me play VideoDemos on QuickTime, but the Audio ones were great !

And Tomorrow I'm gonna pay around the same price for a B.B.King concert next week... KING OF THE BLUES COMES TO SPAIN !! Granada Jun 25 and more

So I must wait to have it in my hands, but I ll wait knidly... knowing it ll be great when finally gettin

And have a lot to study... Buuuuuffffff ! it ll be great for me too
PEACE
