Master Yoda The scale you referred to Phrygian Dominant with a #7 is actually called double harmonic minor! At least I am pretty sure, it has been a while since my last scale study!! :) Later...

Mr Nick That is correct, and the point was made again by another t2j member :-P There are multiple names forr many scales and I know the two 11/2 step jumps was known as the 'double-harmonic' - I don't even think I meant to throw minor in there. Technically speaking, you need to have a perfect 5th on there as well to definitly call something of the quality major or minor. You can't give quality to a distance of only two intervals other than the distance of the notes themselves such as 'minor third' or 'major second'. As Master Yoda just said the hindu scale you can call that many different things! It's the 5th mode off of melodic minor, mixolydian b6...so many different ways to put it. Hehe all in all, if you know it by yourself, for what you want to know it for, I don't think it matters really what you call it! As long as you know it's schematics! If it works for you, that's all that should really matter. We have a lot of theory guru's on here, most of which like to lay their knowledge out on a silver platter. I've learned to know that there is always someone with more knowledge - so why not take advantage of it and learn from eachother? There is always a race to correct on here, and I probably sound like a whining little bitch haha but it's just what I see!! No offense to anyone...sorry if there is! Flame me if you will!! Later...

Master Yoda Thanks man :) I agree with you whole heartedly man! I think most people do know the names of the scales they use though! Haha I doubt you will catch me using the double-harmonic scale cause I personally think that whole 'gypsy' feel has been done too many times!! I'm trying to bring out scales like 'The Hindu' scale and 'diminished symetrical' scale!! Ones that are sometimes difficult to use in an instrumental song as the MAIN feel of it! That's just me though!! :) Later...

Death Cube K - Jem Fest Canada...heh just make sure you get permission to use Jem Fest as I think it was just made a perfectly 'legal' event, and tax deductable by the IRS (USA). I know the organizers are open to expanding Jem Fest it's self, but honestly, it takes away from the original JEM FEST. That is just my personal point of view, but I am sure there are a few people that would agree with me. Just my $0.02...

Rich JS Clone 1 is a very dedicated player. I have known him for quite some time and have had the pleasure to get to know him quite well. In all my time giving theory advice and all that good stuff, I have never seen anyone with such a hunger for knowledge as him. Glad to see he is finally getting the respect he deserves as a player...especially from around these parts of the net. Later...

Kell - Thank you very much for the kind words! Coming from someone with 22 years experience, that is extremely flattering that you said I am a good player! To answer your question about Berklee, I will be attending there at the start of January 2003. I wish it was sooner, but I will take what I can get, they are giving me quite a scholarship - so I am not going to be giving any complaints! :)
Plum Loco - Man I wish I had time to collaborate with more people here on talk 2 joe. I have been so busy, working like crazy to save some money for when I go to Berklee. It's qutie hectic.
News On Course Of Evolution - We are hitting the studio this saturday for another 4 hour session. We also have a new site in the making, and new site = new music :) Figured I'd post that just in case anyone was interested!
Well, that's all I can say for now! I need to get some sleep for work in the a.m. I only have 4 1/2 hours left to do so! Later...

Kell - I wish I could appreciate the technology that we have today more than I already do. It really does enhance the learning experience with music, and offers the free knowledge that was never there before outside of a book or teacher. I feel that I am extremely lucky to be able to follow my dream steps to Berklee. The only thing I have to do is keep faith in the faith. Thank you so much for listening to some of my music, and presenting me with some positive feedback. It's just one more push that makes me say to myself...I believe...
Look Who - Thanks for the interest man! The new site will be up with in the next week as well as some new album clips! That's right...album clips! The final sessions are coming up! Wish we had some kind of label to support us with distribution and all that good stuff. We'll keep our fingers crossed...thanks again!

New Course Of Evolution Demo!
Hey Guys! Well I figured there would still be a few people here with some interst in what the guys and I have been up to for the past few months. Relaxing a lot, but it's time to start up our engines again and get our selves back on the road to writing/recording! We just did a demo of a new song entitled 'Dreams Creation'! It's stuuu not booo - Ah!! Delete that file! That was a mistake in title and all this stuff! The file you are speaking of is an old tune from the jam room perhaps! The one I just linked up on Talk 2 Joe is brand new - recorded two days ago and mixed this morning! It's got quite a different feel to it!
