GUITARSRULE, I just checked out your songs and was very impressed. You even kept a "live" feel to your lead tracks. sometime when you have a minute i would realy like to hear about your setup and gear. also what recording software you use too. cakewalk or similar? anyway keep up the great work and let me know when your cd gets released.

Michelle, yesterday you posted about the violence your family faced in their city and i was wondering what city you were talking about so i stay away from it at least in wisconsin we don't see that kind of violence but we breed serial killers instead

NASS, i am more a fan of his earlier stuff so i like surfin and flying in a blue dream for the studio stuff and time machine for the live tracks. VIKINGS. as a packer fan i have to dislike them. its a law in wisconsin. as for the bears, not only did they kick our buts earlier but their defense looks even better so i wouldn' t bet against them like i did for the first game. our defense sucks this year. i hope we can beat the vikes this sunday but if moss plays we are doomed as we don't have anybody that can cover him. could be ugly

CLARKY: boy did you make my day. when you posted about ufo's strangers in the night i said yea somebody who knows who the origional master of guitar is. michale schenker was and still is the biggest influence in my life as a guitar player. when i first heard him play as a beginner i said i wanted to play like michael. when eddy vanhalen hit the scene i said i wanted to play like michael. even today i want to play like michael. time for a little lights out and rock bottom. SUZIE2000 when you get that flying v pick up a crybaby wah, a marshall amp and a strangers in the night cd too

Clarky, i agree with you about the note selection being his strong point but to me no one can even today can match his vibrato. listening to shenker taught me how important a great vibrato is and how it cam be one of your most expressive tools no matter what style you play.SUZIE2000, every flying v should come with a shenker cd because nobody will ever play one better then him

GUITARMEISTER and TRAVISHODGES i have a couple links you might be interested in for some pedals to check out. http://dimitar.audioshot.net is the first place to go. check out this guy's playing on his site. he uses pedals from amt electronics and they sound just like steve vai. this guy uses no amp and records using the emulated sound from the pedals into the board. this guy is the next vai. you can check the pedals out at www.guitardrive.com

V-AMP by behringer. has anybody tried one of these? i bought one today and am completely blown away with the sound! I plugged my cd player into the aux input and put in my satriani backing tracks cd put on my headphones and jammed for hours. i think i saw god. funny he looks like satriani! i own a jcm800 half stack and a 30th anniversary marshall combo and this thing blew both away. i am dumbfounded! today i am going to plug it into my pa system and see how it sounds. it just may be my new setup when i play this weekend . i'll let you know how it goes. only $100 and the most versital thing i've tried in a long time. if you get the chance you got to try one

V-AMP2...for those who are wondering how well they work live the answer is great! i used mine over the last couple weekends with great results. i use a marshall vs100 when i play live and the v-amp marshall sound was better than the vs100 with a quadraverb and a chorus unit for effects. i set up lead and rhythm channels and footswitched between them. i used 8 different amp modeled sounds throughout the night and they all worked great. the trick is to set up a rhythm and a lead channel using the same amp model and then you can switch from rhythm to lead without dropouts

SUPAADAVE, i was trying to think of where i heard of virginia minnesota and then i remembered in the early 80's i was on the road with a band from madison wi. and we played a place called the opera house in V.M. in the winter and boy was it cold. the place had rooms above the bar and we stayed and played there for a week. i remember it was a nice club and it had a big stage. is the place still there and operating? we called it the frigid tour because we played houghton mi. then hurley, virginia mn. and then back to madison wi all in january. i was never so cold in my life

SUPAADAVE, sorry i took so long to get back to you. i may be wrong with the name because it was so long ago but i'm pretty sure it was the opera house. i played in THE KICKS BAND from madison. i also remember that town because we went to practice in the club one morning and my marshall wouldn't turn on. we found a tv repair shop and after much begging and ass kissing he only charged me $100 to replace a 20 cent diode. must have knew i was a packer fan. anyway i don't expect you to know these places. it is just that seeing virginia minn brought back some memories for me. some very cold ones too. i'll bet its nice there in the summer though
