First off i would like to say hi to all the fellow joe fans. i stumbled onto this site a couple days ago and saw that he is coming to milwaukee wi. i registered and am now the proud owner of four gold tickets and can't wait for an evening with joe. to anyone who has seen the evening with joe can you give me an idea what his set list is so i can send a list of what songs my brother should familarize himself with. i am sure he will also become a fan too but not as big as me. my second favorite guitarist is michael schenker.

Has anyone ever used a chandler tone-x on their guitar? i have a wah pedal but when you are wireless and out in the crowd or standing on the bar it is useless and it seems like a good idea to be able to kick in the chandler when it's time to rip.

Thanks to Michelle and Du the stu for making ne feel welcome to this forrum by responding to my first post. i sent the live in san fran dvd to my brother and told him to memorize it for our evening with joe in october. we bought the gold package. can't wait

Something to ponder. is it possible that the democrats know there are not enough bush haters to vote him out so they are saving their chosen candidate for the next round when the republicans have no one to run and we end up with Hillary in charge and Billary as first lady? am i crazy?

My favorite thing about joe is that his songs are so well srtuctured that the melodies stick in your head and you can remember them later. i lkie vai also but his songs always seem like a jam session and he never establishes memorable melodies. for this reason joe tops my list

suzie 2000 maybe you should concider finding a 30th anninersary marshall combo. they are the same component as what joe used to use except that they have a single 12' speaker. they can be a little hard to find but every so often one comes up for bids in ebay. i bought one a couple years ago and absolutely love it. 3 channels, all tube, and a ton of other features and most of all that classic marshall sound that only tubes can produce. it has 7 pre-amp tubes for gods sake and the warmest clean sound and clean channel if you want to use pedals. you can't go wrong

WASPS. if you ever get stung i have a great unknown cure. growing up un a farm i have been stung more than a few times. take a cottonball and saturate it with pure ammonia and hold it on the sting for a couple munites. not only will the pain go away but the stinger will come out too and you won't hardly tell you have been stung. true

I have been reading these posts for a week now and haven't seen much about about you guys playing live. i see a lot of studio talk and writing. any gigging? i would love to know who plays in a band, the name of your band, what style of music, how often and where you play. also what you have for a rig. I started plaing in the bars when i was 15 yrs old and am still playing 32 years later! i have played everything from top 40 to big hairband. now its mostly classic rock. we play almost every saturday night. I retired my 74 les paul a few years ago and use a jackson with a floyd rose and a seymore duncan screamin deamon pickup into a marshall vs100. 3 channels are great for live. in my rack is a alesis quadraverb 2 and a art chorus unit and on the floor is a crybaby wah. what do you use?

glad to see there are a few of you who do play in a band. that is the big payoff for all the time spent practicing and dedicating your self to music. i hope you all get the chance to express and share your love for music with others wether it be writing, recording or performing. anyone else preforming live lately? i have a gig on saturday and even though i have been playing in the bars for 32 years i can't wait for saturday when i can do it again.

you can easily change your tubes yourself. they have a spline on the bottom so they only go in one way so you can't put them in wrong. after you're done clean them with rubbing alcohol to remove the fingerprints and then get yourself some alcohol for a job well done!

has anybody tried out a PODxt by line 6 ? it is an amp modeler stompbox with effects that is designed to connect to your pc via usb or into your amp. the sound is unbelievable. you can dial in a marshall plexy or a boogie or fender, randall, hiwatt and add a ton of effects from a mxr phase 90 to a fuzface and the list goes on and on. saw one in misicians friend and they had samples to play too. i got to try one

Jonnie1987,.. i think the majority of joe's sound is from his pedals and his technique. He uses his clean channel on his amp most of the time. if you want to match pickups there are links to his gear and you can get whatever joe has in his ibanez. otherwise i would go to seymore duncan sites and choose one that fits your style. i have a screaming deamon and i love it for its sustain and high gain without breaking up sound. since i don't use pedals i can use the extra gain from the pickup to drive my marshall amp. welcome to the forrum too.

Jblaze1, i have to agree with you about the jsx amp. the main thing joe loves about this amp and the thing he uses the most is the clean channel. the majority of joe's sound comes from his pedals and his playing technique. lets face it you could give him any decent guitar and amp setup and he could make it sound great because of his talent alone. If you are using pedals to create your sound just about any good tube amp would sound great. i prefered the matshall sound better too. by the way i own a 30th anniversary marshall combo with no pedals and the sound is fantastic. If i had my chioce between a jsx and a 30th abnniversary i would take the marshall

icezer, i think the reason joe went to peavey is because they were willing to work with him. in fact they probably approached him. i think marshall isn't willing to develop anything signature based on the current line of amps. they have the attitude that they are the best and don't need anybody telling them what to produce. i own a 30th anniversary marshall myself and would like to try out one of the new peaveys but it will have to be an absolute killer amp before i will replace the marshall.

OCPS470 from what i have read in the early days eddie used an older 100wt marshall (maybe a plexi) with a voltage regularol cranking the ac voltage to 145 volts. his guitar was an older strat fitted with with hardware from charvel. charvel was a guitar parts company and didn't build guitars until eddy called his strat a charvel. he also used a les paul

mustanger37 you nailed it on the head. most of these peeps were not around when eddy surfaced. he was the hendricks of the 70s. the biggest inovater of all time. between the wammy and the tapping suddenly everybody wanted to play like him. everybody said oh thats what that tremelo bar is for. listen to the very first vanhalen album. by the way eruption was recorded in one take. my god he inspired the whole big hair band era and spauned hundreds of eddy clones. i put joe first and eddy second

i mispelled regulator and couldn't think of the correct term variac. thanks for reminding me. i had heard that he raised the ac voltage to overdrive the tube bias and run the tubes hotter for more gain. you heard he used it as a power soak. i wonder who is right (not that it matters to me. just wondering) in fact to back me up if you check out the line6 pod 2 pro amp modeler manual they claim that they modeled one of their amp sounds by using a variac and increasing the ac voltage based on the eddie sound . i don't own a pod i just read the manual while researching one for a friend
