Cuth.....

I know when I've met my match

Excuse me while I scratch

New pants got a hole today now they need a patch

If I only knew what was a "Tura-lura-laddy"

I wouldn't be driving a Ford Ranger I'd be driving a Caddy

My poetry will never be a hit

Yes...... I still don't give a shit

Thanks for the Happy 300. That was great.

Good Morning Satchland ! ! ! ! How are you today?

Today I have writers block....No more poems.... ( sad face)

This gives me a great idea..... How about a T2J poetry book written by the talented poets on this forum? (excluding me of coase cause as you can see I suck at it and Yes...I still don't give a shit..LOL..)

In Other news....Sadly greed still and will always run rapid in America.

Apple head attacks record firms

iTunes make more money for music companies than CDs, says Mr Jobs "Greedy" record companies are pushing for an increase in the price of music downloads, Apple's chief executive Steve Jobs has said. Mr Jobs vowed to resist such pressure, after revealing that music firms were pushing for higher prices on Apple's iTunes internet music store.

He said companies already made a bigger profit through iTunes than in CD sales.

Apple's co-founder was speaking ahead of the Apple Expo showcase in Paris. Record companies did not comment.

'Good price'

Mr Jobs said that by cutting out manufacturing jobs, selling through iTunes was already proving lucrative for record companies.

"So if they want to raise the prices it just means they're getting a little greedy," he said.

Big music companies are currently trying to alter the terms of their deals with Apple, with many contracts in the US due for renewal.

The iTunes site in the US charges 99 cents (55p) per song, with prices typically higher in Europe and Japan - it is 79p per song in the UK.

If the price goes up a lot, they'll go back to piracy

Apple chief executive Steve Jobs In August, Apple launched its new Japanese iTunes site without Sony BMG's music catalogue, as they could not agree on pricing.

"Customers think the price is really good where it is," said Mr Jobs.

"We're trying to compete with piracy, we're trying to pull people away from piracy and say 'you can buy these songs legally for a fair price'.

"But if the price goes up a lot, they'll go back to piracy. Then everybody loses."

Apple has sold about 22 million iPod digital music players and more than 500 million songs though its iTunes music store.

It accounts for 82% of all legally downloaded music in the US.

A spokeswoman for record company Warner Music declined to comment. Rival firms Sony BMG, EMI and Universal were all unavailable.

I agree with Mr. Jobs. If prices go up piracy will increase ....That's for sure. What do you guys think?

Have a Great day Everybody ! ! ! !

On the lighter side....

My son Aaron came home from work yesterday and stated he was justified in his decision to move on with a different job. I ask him what he ment. He told me this story.

He was on the phone with this customer. Aaron idenified the problem with her Pampered Chef software and stated she need the upgrade to fix the problem. The customer responded " you mean the the free upgrade coupon I got in the mail that states I can pick up the dowload at Walmart ". Aaron said no mamm you can just download the upgrade from our site. She answered...What am I supposed to do with the coupon? Aaron states ....Mamm there is no coupon. Pampered Chef does not have a coupon out at Walmart and would not go through the expense when it's free from our site. She replies....Are you calling me a liar? Aaron replies ...Just download it from our site and you'll be fine and hangs up.

The next call was another customer with a problem with software. Without going into detail Aaron asked her to email him a screenshot of her desktop so he can see what's going on with her desktop. When Aaron opened the email.... It was a picture of her desktop complete with her chair, plants and the other items on her.....desktop.

Aaron you did the right thing. It was time for you to move on and he can't wait. That's funny stuff.

Thanks Cuth and Sugarbaby....

This happened a long time ago but I'll share it cause it goes with my previous stories.

I know Gary Gand of Gand Music and Sound in Northfield , Il. I was at a seminar at his store and he told us about the pains and aches of customer service and what lengths you sometimes have to go through to help a customer.

He started out telling us that a customer who had recently came into alot of money wanted to get into digital recording and knew nothing about it. He had purchased about 50k of equipment like the computer, software, mics, stands you get the picture...a complete studio. Gary sent 2 techs over to the house to set up all the equipment. This took two days because of the amount of equipment plus a one hr. drive one way. On the second day after completing the install the techs walk into the store and Gary stated to them that the man had just called and nothing is working when he clicks the mouse. The techs stated everything was working fine when they left or they wouldn't have left. Gary suggested a computer freeze and sent one tech back to fix the problem. The tech gets to the house and asked the man to show him what was wrong. The man picked up the mouse off the mouse pad and pointed it at the monitor and began clicking madly and stated.....See nothing is working. Honest to God true story.

I got this email from my mother in law. This is very interesting.

We Failed You? Try Again.

Anne Rice blames America, not local officials.

"To my country I want to say this: During this crisis you failed us. You looked down on us; you dismissed our victims; you dismissed us. You want our Jazz Fest, you want our Mardi Gras, you want our cooking and our music. Then when you saw us in real trouble, when you saw a tiny minority preying on the weak among us, you called us "Sin City," and turned your backs." - novelist and New Orleans resident Anne Rice

Let me get this straight.

Ms. Rice, you live in (what was) a very attractive city which lies below sea level. On one side you have a giant lake; on the other side you have the Gulf of Mexico. Running through the middle is the Mississippi River. All of which are above you. Preventing those giant bodies of water from flooding and drowning you are levees. These levees are described as "century-old." People have been warning about the devastating effects of a direct hit from a hurricane for decades. I've heard a great deal of complaint in recent days that the federal government may not have allocated enough money to speed up the upgrades to those levees. This does, however, raise the question of why city and state residents were waiting around for the federal government to send enough money to upgrade this, instead of paying for it themselves. I mean, it was only your homes, businesses, and lives at stake. Perhaps these upgrades would have been expensive. If only this city had some sort of events to attract tourists, from which to collect taxes. Anyway, your state and local officials decided to spend your tax dollars on something else that they (and presumably you) found more important, and then they waited for the rest of the country to pay for these life-preserving necessities. Your beloved city and region has a colorful political history, in which there is, oh, a wee bit of corruption. I'm from New Jersey, so I can't throw stones at that glass house. But you guys have managed to pick leaders who give you the worst of both worlds - they're scandal ridden and incompetent in a crisis. Look, Rudy Giuliani might have run around with Judith Nathan before his divorce, but he was a hell of a leader in our darkest hours. You know the National Review crowd isn't a fan of Pataki, but the man was a rock after 9/11 compared to Governor Weepy I'll-Evacuate-Eventually and Mayor It's-Everybody's-Fault-Except-Mine. Nobody's throwing around the adjective "Churchillian" about any of your officials these days. We didn't pick your local officials; you guys did.

Rice asks, "how many times did Gov. Kathleen Blanco have to say that the situation was desperate? How many times did Mayor Ray Nagin have to call for aid?"

Part Duex....

Ahem. What about those buses left unused, less than a mile from the Superdome? JunkYardBlog notes that it's written in the Southeast Louisiana Evacuation Plan that buses are supposed to be used for evacuation of those who don't have personal vehicles. As JYB observes, "there is something very peculiar about a city and a state that have a plan on the books for years that outlines what to do when a hurricane is about to strike, yet when a hurricane comes roaring in, the responsible officials just chuck the plan and try winging it. Delaying and then winging it in the face of a monstrous Cat 4/5 hurricane is never, ever a good idea, especially for New Orleans." (See more here.) Ironically, Nagin told CNN, "I need buses, man," when he had plenty sitting around unused before the storm hit. Now they're flooded and useless. But it's not like state and local officials could have seen this coming. They have never had a hurricane bearing down on them before and... oh, wait, there was Hurricane Ivan just last year. And after that dodged bullet, Blanco and Nagin both acknowledged they needed a better evacuation plan. I would note that we've seen some pretty intense disasters in other parts of the country, like planes crashing into skyscrapers and subsequently collapsing, earthquakes, tornadoes, blizzards, and yet somehow, none of these disasters had the total breakdown of law and order, civil society, etc. Jonah Goldberg's early joke about a Mad-Max style post-apocalyptic tribal anarchy may have been in poor taste, but it has turned out to be nightmarishly prescient.

We failed you? No, oh brilliant creator of Exit to Eden, you failed. You might not think of it this way, but: Your leaders failed to upgrade the levees. You elected a bunch of weepers and blame-shifters who lost their head in a crisis. Over the past decades, your elected officials have let a criminal element incubate and grow until they ruled the streets, instead of the forces of law and order. In pop culture, a New Orleans thief is always a charming rogue with a devilish smile. In reality, they're a bunch of thugs. If the number of residents who are looting thugs were such a "tiny minority," we wouldn't have seen this widespread, relentless anarchy. Madam, a noticeable number of your neighbors saw this disaster as an opportunity to smash a window and run away with a television, an act that reveals much about the inadequacies of the local school system, since that thief won't be enjoying that television with any electricity anytime soon. I would also note that this is one hell of a police force your local officials hired and that you and your neighbors tolerated. 50 percent turned in their badges during the crisis and quit. Your police superintendent is conceding that some cops were looting. I Just want to refresh your memory-four years ago, New York and Washington, planes falling out of the sky, thousands dead, no idea what the hell is coming next... and the cops, among others, showed up to work. To save you guys now, I - and a lot of other Americans - will pitch in. We are witnessing the biggest mobilization of civilian and military rescue and relief crews in history. But I have a sneaking suspicion you're going to want the rest of us to pay for the rebuilding of your city. (In the near future, we're going to have to have a little chat about the wisdom of building below sea level, directly next to large bodies of water.) And if you're going to come to the rest of us hat in hand, demanding the rest of us clean up after your poor judgment, I'd appreciate a little less "you failed us" and a little more "we've learned our lesson.

Very interesting........

Welcome Beautiful Sound...... We have a few T2Jer's from England. Hope to see you post more. Take care.

Good Morning Satchland......

Does anyone have the Michael Angelo Batio "Speed Kills" DVD? What's it like and is it worth picking up? I know Guitar World rated this DVD very high. Just lookin' for a T2Jer's opinion. Thanks.

962...... I hope I didn't mislead you. I wasn't transcibing the "House Full Of Bullets" solo. I've been learning it passage by passage for the last couple of weeks. I've been using the Tascam CD GT-1 which has been very helpful in slowing down the parts in pitch to hear what Joe is doing. When a passaage is to difficult to play at tempo. I practice over and over again till it's right and move on. It's been a wonderful learning experence. What's also helping is Guitar One's Oct. " Monster Chops " issue. Great reference for picking techniques and warm up drills. I would recommend that issue for any guitarists library.

michelle...... Ha ! ! ! ! You obviously have the advantage... LOL. " Go Ahead...Make My Day " ...".Say Hello to My Little Freinds" .....( well...there your friends ) Is this movie quote day or something? LOL..... Take Care.

As Always..... Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! ! !

Zinc..... When Joe's new CD is released....I'm hopin' for another meet - n - greet tour which I thought was a great idea on Joe's part and proved to be very successful. If that goes down we can all get the G3 DVD signed. That would be great. I got a pre- release signed ITLIS CD from Sony. When I met Joe at the meet - n - greet I brought it with me and he told me he had signed something like 500 of those CD's.

How about it Joe. Another Meet - N - Greet would be great.

962...... That's cool. I used to read music and like an idiot I stopped. Back in "79" I had a great guitar teacher... a Berkley grad. He had me reading out of a book called 'For Guitar Players only". It was written by studio ace Tommy Tedesco. That guy was huge in session work. Tommy played on.... well everything. It's a great book. It's starts out with E 1st string open all the way up to reading chord charts to timing. What was cool about the book ....Tommy seemed very comical. He'd have these studio stories to tell though out the book. I don't know if it's still in print but it's a great book. The other book he had me workin' out is "Chord Chemistry" by Ted Greene. Sadly Ted died ..... I think like last month. I'm not sure. Steve Vai mentions this book as a soarce on chord knowledge. Check them out. Chord Chemistry is still out but I don't know about the Tedesco book.

Cheese...... Sounds like you had a great time. I'm glad you got to meet and talk to Joe and got home safe. Did Joe mention or did you ask about the new CD? Just curious. I know he was busy with the Nascar soundtrack. Post the pics when you get a chance. Take care.

Michelle..... Great talkin' with ya in the chat. I was on Cindy's lap top outside by the fire. I couldn't see shit when typing. Sorry. It was fun while it lasted. Take care.

T2JCD......I'm excited the CD will be finished soon. Kudos to all who worked so hard for the project. I'm sad about the fighting and really don't know much about what went wrong. From the posts I've read you clearly have a right to be pissed. But I'm thinking if there are disputes surrounding the project maybe you guys should keep it private and not post the problems on T2J. I know this is an open forum....and you guys were posting the rebutals to Trutina's post. I'm also thinking if Joe hears what's going on he my just say NO MORE T2J CD'S. That would be a huge loss and what would Joe think of us then. His Fans who love and repect him so much. The T2J CD is a tribute to Joe and a great idea that gives wonderful exposure to the musicians. We're all here because of Joe. We all have friends from all over the world becuase of T2J. I don't want to see the CD or any of us tarnished in anyway. Just a thought. Sorry....Maybe I should have kept my 2 cents in my pocket.

Good Afternoon Satchland.....Sorry I missed you guys this mornin'. Just enough time to share this with you......

A young boy went up to his father and asked him,

"Dad, what is the difference between potentially and realistically?

The father thought for a moment, then answered,

"Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars.

Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars, and then, ask your brother if he'd sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars.

Come back and tell me what you learn from that."

So the boy went to his mother and asked, "Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?" The mother replied, "Of course I would!

We could really use that money to fix up the house and send you kids to a great University!"

The boy then went to his sister and asked, "Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?" The girl replied, "Oh my God! I LOVE Brad Pitt I would sleep with him in a heartbeat, are you nuts?!?!?"

The boy then went to his brother and asked, "Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?"

Of course," the brother replied. "Do you know how much a million bucks would buy?"

The boy pondered the answers for a few days, then went back to his dad. His father asked him, "Did you find out the difference between potentially and realistically?"

The boy replied, "Yes... Potentially, you and I are sitting on Three Million Dollars..... but Realistically,.... we're living with two Sluts and a Queer."

Have A Great Day ! ! ! !

Good news....... My old bass player from 2 yrs. ago called me. He was lookin' for another band and saw my post on a local bulliten board and wants back in. Fine by me. Mick is on the media page mp3's. He's from England and really a great guy and I'm excited to play with him again. Check him out with the band. http://www.thebluesmavericks.com

Bad News...... My boys cars were broken into Mon. about 3am. Aaron had a in dash DVD player that was tore out of the dash and a power amp from the trunk. They smashed his window to gain access. Sean's car just had his drivers door window smashed which activated the alarm. We all woke up about the same time when we heard the alarm. Aaron turned the alarm off with the remote never thinkin' we were vandalized.(in a 1/2 a sleep daze) We discovered all this leaving for work. Insurance will cover Aaron's car but Sean is out $165 'cause it's under the $500 deductable. I HATE INSURANCE. IT'S A RACKET. A side story..... A silver lining?.....The investigating officer was the back up cop on a call to our house a couple years ago for Sean's Bon Voyage' party before he went to Florence,Italy for 3 months to draw with the masters. Long story short Sean and I ended up getting arrested for disorderly conduct. The cop remembered us and likewise and we started talkin about the night. He said he felt real bad about what happened and thought the arresting officer that night was way out of line and no arrests should have been made. He than stated when he'd pass by our house on patrol he would be reminded of the night and it would bother him. He said he wanted closure in the matter and stuck out his hand. We all shook hands and Sean and I told him how how much that ment to us. I told Sean the night of the arrest that he did nothing wrong and the cops totally provoked the whole thing. This shows I was right but it was a great feeling to hear this from the cop.
