Hi Everyone-

To Lord Iffy Boatrace: to answer your question, Joe puts his right hand over his left to dampen the open strings while he hammers out the arpeggio.

Thanks, Keniko

Hi everyone- I'm working on the arpeggio in "Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing". I have the "Flying In A Blue Dream" tab book from Cherry Lane Music. The arp from the tab sounds right but I just want to make sure. When I slow down Joe's performance from the CD it's not clear(little garbled) 'cause Joe plays this so fast. Can anyone verify this ? Also, Joe was debuting a Ibanez Chome Boy model at the Namm show. I emailed Ibanez for the price and availability about two weeks ago and haven't heard from them. Anybody have any info? Joe if you read this maybe you could answer the question for all of us.

Thanks, Keniko

Hi everyone-

I would like to share a little story with the Satch community. I'm a proud father of two boys now in thier mid 20's. I should say young men. Back in 1992 during the Extremist tour my two boys and my wife and I got a chance to meet Joe at the Riviera Theater in Chicago. My son Sean was 12 yrs. old at the time and had drawn me a picture of the cover of Surfing With The Alien. Well during our meet with Joe he signed the surfboard part of the picture which is now framed in my studio. Fast foreword 13 yrs. and Sean wanted to do something real nice for our 25th wedding anniversary. So Sean decided to paint a mural on a wall in my studio and chose to do the Surfing With The Alien again. I sent a jpeg to John Luini to post on the site. I recieved a email from Mr. Luini today and it's posted on the fan's art page along with the other beautiful works from fans. If you would like to talk with Sean or want to see more of his art work. You can visit him at www.artbyseane.com.

Estrela- Speaking of beautiful stories. I read your first posts about how you feel about Joe's music and that you thought Joe is an angel sent to us to share his music with us. I must agree. Then when Joe answered you I was welling up holding back tears of joy for you.(I'm such a woose it's sick)

Michelle- I don't know if you remember me. I met you in the chat room and if I remember right you going to quit smoking and were moving. I read some post about your dad being ill and I hope all is well. I hope I have this right forgive me if I don't.

In closing I've been reading the post for awhile and it's a great community. I never seem to have the time to post but I'm going to try harder. This is wonderful area to meet online and to talk about anything especially all things Joe.

Thanks, Keniko

Hello everyone and good morning......

Michelle- I'm glad I got the post right. It's been like August of 2004 since we met in the chat room. I love your humour with Stevee T. It made me laugh. I see that your dad is still ill and hope for the best for him.

Thanks for your comments on Sean's art work. The mural took about 2 1/2 months to complete. He worked his A double S off on it. Sean has come along way with his art work. As a senior in college he was 1 of 28 students picked from The Florence Academy of Art in Italy to study art. He spent his first 3 months in Florence studying life drawing. It was great experience for him. My other son Aaron is graduating Devry this month with a telecommunications degree and already has a full time career job. I hope I don't sound like an idiot talking about my sons. My wife and I are real proud of them. It started with the mural and just went from there.

Thanks also for your comments on my band. I'm really putting alot of effort toward the band. I've always wanted to play guitar for a living. I put it on the back burnner to be around the boys as they grew up. My dad was never around when I was young and I vowed I would not do the same. Now that there older It's my time. It takes alot of time and dedication to play professionally. Joe keeps me reaching. He inspiers me everyday. My wife and I have seen him play in Chicago every year since "92" including all G3 concerts. The last time he came through with " An Evening With Joe Satriani " he was on fire like he had something to prove and he didn't. Just an amazing player as Satch land knows.

Rory Gallagher- Rory was a great Blues player. My band is playing 'Calling Card" one his best IMAO. Have you ever heard of Joe Bonamassa? This guy can rip your head off. He's a guitar prodigy. His dad gave him a guitar when he was 5 yrs. old. When he entered 1st grade he was playin' SRV's Texas Flood CD to the note. He toured with B. B. King when he was 12yrs. old. His first CD called Bloodline had the sons of Miles Davis, Berry Oakley, and Robbie Krieger playin' on it. He's only 27yrs. old now and has been touring for 15 yrs. Visit him @www. jbonamassa.com. I'm going to put up some video of us playing "Aways With Me Always With You" and "House Full Of Bullets". I'm workin' on "The Mystical Patato Head Groove Thing" the arpeggio is killer in that song. I'm close but not ready to present the song to the band. I'll keep you posted.

Joe Satriani- You are a class act. You really care and are in touch with your feelings and your fans well being. Your posts for Stevie Wilde and Dimebag are recent examples. Thank you so much for your beautiful music. You inspire me and countless of others everyday. God bless you and your family.

Estrela- Hello. Thanks so much for signing our guest book. I was very moved with your first few post explaining how you felt about Joe's music. When Joe answered you I felt your joy. I was so happy for you the flood gates opened. (again I'm such a woose it's sick.) lol..... Just a beautiful online story and expierience.

Sax Player- Thank you also for signing our guest book and your nice comments. As for being famous someday. It's not about that. I'm just glad you like the music. I'm working on some original material and will be posting to the site in a couple of months. I'll keep you posted( pardon the pun) lol.....

Stevie Wilde- Sorry to here that your sick. Keep your chin up. I got an idea. Go put on any Satriani cd you may have, kick back and let the healing power of Joe's music take you away. God bless and keep in touch.

Michelle- Thank you for your comments. Yes we are proud. I hope for you and your family that your dad will get better soon.

Jazzzzzzzy- Krispy Kremes are a nessessary evil. I think were seeing some of the devil's humour here. lol..... They are unreal. I try and stay away and with the "in moderation you can eat and drink anything theory" I admit I indulge. Besides I have to be careful. I'm trying to keep my girlish figuire. lol......

Stevee T- Glad your a Bonamassa fan. Did you know he just won Blues artist and Blues cd of the year? His new cd "Had To Cry Today" won and its great. He does a cover of the Blind Faith song with same name. I have all his cd's. Hes a great player. Have you ever heard of Indigenous? There another great Blues Rock band. There American Indians and there family like Los Lonely Boys. Mato is the guitar player and he's great. His brother Pte is on bass and there sister Wandbe plays drums. There cousin horse used to play percussion but left the band this year to be with his family. They tour relentlessly. They just played House Of Blues here in Chicago.

Have a great day everybody !!!!!

My job change for the better and I'll be able to keep in touch with this wonderful online community. Thanks for your comments on my son. He's really doing well. Sean got into web site design and is trying to make a go of it. He's redesigning my bands site right now . The new site will be up in about two weeks.

Have a great day!!!!

Stevie T- Another real good Bonamassa cd is Blues Deluxe. The song Blues Deluxe will tear your head off. There is a really cool volume swell technique on this song. The baby finger wraped around the volume knob thing. Check out Indigenous. Visit them @ www.indigenousrocks.com. Let me know what you think.

Michelle- Like I said before your humour is great. I was crackin' up like crazy. I think what happened is your P's hit the redial or a speed button and called by accident. This happens to me all the time with my Nextel. I bump a button and get-" If you would like to make a call please hang up" voice. Thats funny. lol.....

It's 5:00pm in Chi Town and TGIF. Have great weekend!!!

Good Morning Satchland !!!! It's 9:30am in Chi- Town. Had a great weekend. I hope everyone else did.

Cuthbert 1776- I love Flexable. It's still one of mt favorite Vai CD's. You deffinetly can hear the Zappa influence. Call It Sleep Imao is the greatest whammy bar song ever. If you want to hear or learn whammy techniques you don't have to listen anywhere else. Also, you get to hear a very young Stu Hamm on that CD.

Have A Great Day Satchland, God Bless All

Mikesb- I remember your post. I just forgot to answer. SORRY I like Moonchild. I never thought of covering it. But I am now. THANKS. I was't aware of any intructional video.Who is Andy? I saw a long time ago on Nickelodian a special on Joe Bonamassa. He was 13 yrs. and was playin' with the Bloodline line up. The only DVD I have is the one that came as a bonus with I think "So It's Like That". I think it was shot in a club in Texas. He does a few songs from "A New Day Yesterday" and from the "Bloodline CD". I just saw today from his site they released a live version of "A New Day Yesterday". I'm going to check that out. My band does "Stone Cold Hearted"from Bloodline. You can check out the clip at www.thebluesmavericks.com. The site is on the lame side but my son is redesigning it and might be done by the weekend. Sign our guest book if you'ld like. Check out the mural Sean did in my studio of Surfing With The Alien. Jon Luini posted it on the fan art page. If you want to see more of his art. You can visit him at www.artbyseane.com. Keep in touch.

Stevee T- Indigenous is awesome. I really love this band. I hope some day we can back them up at House Of Blues in Chicago. I'm always in fanasy land. As for Satch doing another Blues Cd. Bring it on. Joe loves the Blues. I think he states this in The Satch Tapes which is a great DVD. The Joe Satriani CD is great and clearly shows Joe's Blues influences. I got idea Stevee T. B3. Joe on tour with Blues players. Can you imagine Joe with Bonamassa and Indigenous. What a great show. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST. lol!!!! How about it Joe? B3 or An Evening Of Blues With Joe Satriani.

Sounds great to me.

Slanshroom- You can't go wrong with Pro Tools. I bought a Digi002 with a G4 and I love it. It does everything you need to record and edit audio. It's the industry standard for a reason. I'm just getting my feet wet with DVD creation. iMovie and iDVD work great for this. I made a DVD of my bands first show and It came out great. Apple just released iLife 05. This has an update for Garageband but also HD video is now possible on a desktop Mac. How sweet is that?. When the need arrives and I get more experienced with DVD creation I'm going to step up to Final Cut Express HD. This is a high def version. Keep in touch.

Gotta go. I'll log on tomorrow. Have a great evening Satchland

Good morning Satchland- Hope all is well.

Stevee T - I think Joe is ready for a Blues CD. The timeing is right. Joe has poured his heart and soul all over us and it might be time to get back to the basics. I saw a VH1 special on Clapton and he stated that he ventures out and explores different music but always returns to the Blues. Like I said before the thought of Joe with Bonamssa and Indigenous really excites me. As a matter of fact it would be good to see Kenny Wayne back in the line up again especialiy now with him singing lead vocals. Keep in touch.

How about it. Would Satchland like to see a B3 or an Evening of Blues With Joe Satriani Show?

What do you think Joe?

Peace, Keniko

mjs99- I would want the show to be electric. But part of the show could be acoustic. During the Crystal Planet tour I thought it was cool how they brought Jeff's kit up front and Joe and Stu sat in chairs around Jeff. Very loose and intiment. That was great. I could see that as part of the show. Or have a special guest like B.B. or Buddy Guy come on stage.

Slanshroom- I'm glad you like the G3 Blues idea or B3. I was hopin' some more Satch fans would like the idea. Blues is in everyones music some way or another. The G3 tour with Yngwie is an example. He is one of the top players in the world who is influenced by classical music. During his set he does a staight out Blues tune. They've done Going Down from Beck, Bogart and Appice for a oncore not to mention Joe's Blues songs throughout his wonderful career. I think it would be great. I love the idea. This could get interesting.

Come on Satchland. Shout all at once: B3-B3- B3- B3 lol !!!!

How about it Joe?

What does Satchland think?

Good Morning Satchland- What an eventful day with the snowwhite posts. She is right about one thing. Joe is the most sincere person I've ever met. Joe show this time and time again. I consider myself a newbie at the site. But I can certainly tell you as you all know there is never and will never be any backstabbing posts here. Its not what this site is about.Thank God my job change for the better and have time to post once in a while so I can be apart of this wonderful community. She states that Joe told her to get off the site and not to bother helping anyone. This is not the Joe Satriani we all know love and respect. I would suspect Joe might contact snow white or at least post an answer but then again he is much to busy trying to figuire out what hats to pack forAustralia LOL! You guys know what I mean. Its a joke and she's a joke. Sounds like she has a problem. She would have been better off posting as a real person and if she had problems WE would have welcomed her like you did me and tried to help her through talking. Thats what this site is all about. Communicating and having fun with all things Joe. Speaking of fun.........

Michelle- I'll say it again. I love your humour. The recent story about the cold at the Cats show and your parents phone call cracked me up. I don't what to expect next but I'm sure its going to be great.

Tune- As far as the B3 idea. I'd like to see Joe with Joe Bonamassa and Indigenous for two reasons. 1. It would be awesome 2. Both bands are on the rise and would be good exposure for them. If your not familiar with these bands you can visit them @ www.jbonamassa.com and indigenousrocks.com.

Steven Wilde- Hope your in the sun again today. How are you feeling?

Snow White- Summers comming

I got to get some work done. Have a great day. I'll check back soon.

See Ya
