Just listened to all of the clips on the "Talk 2 Joe"CD. Nice compilation of talent. It's always great to hear other players and their styles of music. I'm wondering how successful the CD was, and if there are any plans of a Volume II? Haven't had much time to play the past few years, but hearing other musicians has inspired me to make a little time to pick up the axe again.

DeathCubeK- Thanks for the reply. So many styles and techniques. I have since blown the dust off of my Schecter, and begun to diddle around with some new riffs. Guitar is always a great outlet for creativity and emotion.

This message is for JOE. On Christmas '04 my wife gave me the most awesome gift ever.......... It was about Dec. 18th when I first found out that you were coming to town. A friend and co-worker of mine mentioned seeing an ad in a local publication. So, excitedly, I rushed home for lunch, told my wife Delora. We talked about the prospects of going to the show, but we have two children ages 2 and 7. Finding a sitter for them on such short notice would have been near impossile. Not to mention the impending expenses that the holiday season bring. So.................with only the shadow of a dream, I returned to work. Later, that afternoon, Delora calls me at work to say that she called Ticketmaster and that they know of no dates scheduled for JOE in AZ!!! WWWHHHAAAAAA??????? My friend then, the next day, confirms the reality by showing me the actual ad in the local publication.................... "An Evening with Joe" AT THE CELEBRITY THEATER Dec.30th... With a renewed spirit I went home that evening and my wife and I went to the Celebrity Theater website. We searched for availability of tickets and seating. WOOOWWW!!! The show was already 70% sold out. And any adjacent seats were only available in the back rows.................... Again, my hope was fleeting. So I let it go...................... ...................A week later................................................ It's Christmas Eve and we have a family tradition of opening our gifts to eachother... For my final gift, my ever resourceful wife of 18 years engages me with a treasure hunt. A puzzle of clues which carefully lead me to my final prize........ A new GUITAR CASE(hard shell) for my Schecter!!!!!! And just when I thought the festivities were over........ She tells me to open the case, and then hands me a pencil. Saying..."You're gonna need this." Inside the guitar case lies a piece of paper with blank spaces forming a sentence and a selection of letters to choose from. Reminiscent of a hangman game. As I worked the puzzle, and was close to solving it, Delora goes to the Christmas tree and pulls off a handmade ornament. When I read the solution aloud...." YOU'RE GOING TO SEE JOE SATRIANI!!!!!"....... she hands me the ornament and instructs me to open it... Inside were two tickets to the show!!!!! Section B row 18!!!!!!! (What I didn't know was , that first night we looked for tickets, Delora had already called her brother and had him purchase the tickets on line. AND had already arranged for a sitter the night of the show!!!!!) I love my wife dearly..... And we both love your music JOE.We were both sorry to hear when you fell ill. And were praying for your speedy recovery. Now that you are well, I just thought you'd like to know how much what you do means to us.And althought two more months is a long time to wait.............it is well worth it!!!! Thanks Rob McCallister

Hey all. Just went out this week to purchase tickets to STEVE VAI at the Marquis Theater. So now I'll be seeing Steve on March 1st......... and Joe on april 6th!!!!!!! How awesome is that???!!!!! Also while at Zia records, I picked up a CD of G3 live in Kansas City as well as the G3 LIVE in Denver DVD.... (Now that I'm all jazzed about the impending shows..... I needed a quick fix!!!!!) After watching the DVD for the fourth time, I'm still blown away by how DAMN good the three of them are!!! (Joe, Steve and Yngwie) They play the most BADASS chops with such little effort!!! Joe impressed me with the single-handed arpeggio hammer-on pulloffs in MYSTICAL POTATO HEAD GROOVE THING. Steve was absolutely incredible on the intro to I KNOW YOU ARE HERE with his triple necked Ibanez. And Yngwie,......well even though he still thinks he is young and looks good in stretch leather(HAHH), I cannot deny the flawless precision of his Paganini speed riffs and his lightning fast arpeggios all over the neck!!! All in all an awesome DVD. Since then I have begun working on (Midnight) and Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing. I'm about a quarter of the way through both..... NO TABS Just playing by ear, as I always have. The two handed tapping technique used by JOE on MIDNIGHT was much easier to master than I thought. I feel like I'm entering a new level with my playing, I know that I am filled with a new INSPIRATION!!! Anyway, thanks for listening. Rob

Just got back from Joe's show at Celebrity Theater. PHX, AZ. What an awesome concert!!!!!! He was phenomenal, LIVE or MEMOREX??????? There were some downsides, however. The venue featured a circular theater, with a circular stage, that rotates,............slowly. So half of the time, all you can see is the the rack systems for the guitars and the back of Jeff's kit. Then, Joe would play a real ASS-Kickin' song, and as the stage came around, it would stop........and turn back the other way!!!! What was up with that???? Anybody else see the show tonight??? I think definately next time I will get good seats as the front row was only 5 bucks more and they were right up against the stage!!! Joe gave a lot of "HIGH FIVES" out to the front row. Due to the rapid sales of "GOOD" seats there were none available when my wife purchased our tickets. Four days after the original date was announced. Despite the drawbacks though, the show was great. Joe was flawless. And I'm glad he could make it after re-scheduling the Dec. 30th date. The playlist was very interesting. Reaching back to his beginnings, his current writings and abstract songs from in between. Altogether I was impressed by the quality of the performance. I still find it amazing that we have the opportunity to see talent like Joe and Steve at such small, club-like venues. I will be looking forward to both of their next shows here in AZ. Oh yeah...... Celebrity theater allows cameras!!!! VIDEO even!!! As a matter of fact, security did not search anyone for anything!!!!! WEIRD????: Later------------ AXEMAN Throb

Has anyone out there done any composing using, Fruity Loops, Cakewalk or BPR? I have recently downloaded these programs into my PC, and being limited in my knowledge of electronics, need some assistance in the 'HOW TO' department. I can program a baseline track using the synth drums that are on the program. However, I want to record some guitar overlays directly into my PC and dub them together. I am not even sure that any of these programs has the capability to record external inputs. I may need to invest in a sound recorder program in order to create my own tracks first. Then, import the files into the other programs. Anyone have any advice, of helpful 411? Thanks, Rob

THX. Appreciate the 411. Oh, BTW I recently learned Starry Night in it's entirety. It's a beautiful song with a lot of emotion when you play it .One of my favorites off of Strange and Beautiful Music. I also like to play Belly Dancer. Some pretty technically challenging riffs there. Anyways, good luck with Starry Nights and thanks again for your input!!!!

Thank you as well for your input. I have some friends who have some mix and editing experience from studio work as well as PC recording. They are very busy, however, and hard to reach sometimes. As far as expertise, mine is in my musical ability. Although I am self-taught, and play mostly by ear, I've been in a number of bands since my high school days. And now I am just playing solo, for fun as well as creative expression. I would love to record a few clips of my music for all T2J's to hear and I am open to constructive criticism. That's why I'm looking for a good PC recorder. Thanks so much for your advice!!!! Rob

Checked out you website... Nice work. I was anxious to here some of the covers of Joe's work that you've done. However, the first song that I downloaded "Summer Song" actually uploaded a really cool video of Ricky Garcia live. He's righteous but you may want to check that out. I don't know what song he was playing but his stylings are very similar to that of Joe's. THX Rob
