Hey Joe, my name is Alon Malek, I am from South Africa and I am 16 years old turning 17 on the 28th of March. This is my first time posting on your website. I started listening to your music in the middle of last year, and you have really changed my view on music. I used to be more of a Metal head, listening to bands like Metallica, Slipknot and the list goes on. But the first time I heard you play, you opened my eyes and made me see the truth about music. You have inspired me so much, that i even went and bought a JS100, now i know that that it is not as great as the JS1000/1200 or even the 2000, but in South Africa, things are very expensive and i cannot afford to buy the better models, The JS100 is perfect for me and i am soon going to replace the Ibanez stock pickups with DiMarzio's. Unfortunatly since i do live in South Africa, the suppliers of DiMarzio have stopped bringing them in, so i had to order them overseas, and they should be arriving in a couple of days. I am not going to talk to you about your guitar, but i am going to talk to you about your music, your music has inspired me to take guitar seriously, i used to do nothing but play cover songs of metal bands, and my knowledge of theory was very limited. I bought your DVD Live in San Fransico and watched it the day i bought it. It was at that moment that i made my decision to take guitar more seriously and that one day i could be a "Joe Satriani JR". You are a very talented musician and I thank you for inspiring me. I hope you feel better, and im hoping that one day in the near future you will come tour South Africa and share your knowledge and music with us South Africans, and when you do come, i will be first in line to buy tickets at any cost.
