Howdy from UT!
Hope you are feeling better Joe!
This is my first post..ever on any web site. I was just never that interested in anything before. But after listening to Satch on a few of his records on Real Rhapsody, I was at once reduced to tears and excited as Hell. Incredible! I was heated up to the point that I decided to play the guitar again after 36 years away from it ( I had a little garage band in Junioir High in the 60's). I bought a guitar at a garage sale for $1 and put some strings on it and played for a month or so. God that thing was awful and wonderful at the same time! The action was about 1/2" high at the 12th fret, but I was learning again so it was good. So for Christmas my wife surprises me with an Ibanez SA160 with a crate amp and and a digitech modeler! What a woman!
Being the obsessive guy that I am, I now listen to Joe all day (I bought two CD's and the G3 Live in Denver DVD so it's legal) for inspiration and practice all night. I am hoping to be part of the entertainment at my 50th birthday party this summer. I have learned the chords to" If I could Fly", Rockin in the Free World" and "Little Wing", but the solos are just too much for me at this point. Hopefully the old fingers will come around eventually. At least the people throwing stuff at me will be friends! Deb and I are hoping to catch the makeup show in Vegas in April. That would be a highlight!
Joe, I have to say that I was amazed at how "normal" you appeared on the DVD. In fact that is what I like best about you. You are human! No Bullshit, just real. You feel and react just like the rest of us and it is wonderful to me.
Anyway, Thanks for reading and for the inspiration
Rob
