Ethn - I have a cosmo black Edge trem off my S540LTD and a gold Lo Pro Edge from my Jem7V. Both have exact same string breakage symptoms. The black edge is on my 7V for the case of experimentation for this very problem. Plus I have a goldware phobia on my Lo Pro.

Austin - If you look in the new photos that the webmaster posted, at about the 5th or 6th page of pictures (more photos etc...) you'll see a picture of the setlist posted on a wall of the stage. Mind Storm was printed with the 2 dots over the 'O'

http://www.satriani.com/2000/road/2002-11-02/P0004352.jpg

Avarice - Floating bridges, hence the 2 week discussion on Edge tremolos and string breakage.

Narface - Thanks. Happy 136 to you.

Ovation1 - Thanks. Joe knows his metal, playing aswell as grammar.

Kinger - Man, that blows. Did you get all 4 wisdom teeth out at once? I would recommend keeping your mouth closed completely for at least 40 hours. What happens when they take all 4 teeth out at once, they stretch your jaw open farther than it would normally go so it pulls some muscles. Then they sew the gum wounds up by string them up to the cheeks. First thing I did when I awoke was open my mouth as far as possible. "I feel fiiiine." Little did I know, I was still under HEAVY HEAVY painkillers. The consequences were wreaked upon me severely afterwards.

r6rocker - Thanks.

Mr Nick - Do the strings ring under tension? I don't think so.

McDave - Reading music is not required at all for being a good guitarist or musician but it tends to be quite a useful thing to have. I only started learning transcriptions this year.

Jem7V breaks high E string yet again. I didn't even bend or whammy once. NOT ONCE. All I was doing was going through picking runs.

JEMS + (LO PRO) EDGE TREMS = CRAP

Austin - About posting, I dunno. It seems like I take a break, then you shoot ahead then you take a break then I shoot ahead. Time will tell.

Edit: Jems = BIG CRAP in general.

I am noticing a dull shrilly tone compared to Gibsons a Fenders. These floating bridges are a joke. I would laugh but i'm too pissed about all the work that i've put into to buying and setting up this guitar.

CRAP CRAP CRAP

I'm thinking of selling it and just buying a SUPER NICE strat I played in a guitar store the other day. Front pickup perfect for fast picking, rear pickup humbucker, hot ass and cut without being too shrilly. Nice medium sized neck and decent action.

Ethn - You don't want this guitar, trust me. I would sell it for the price I bought it for aswell and not a cent less. That doesn't include 16 hours of diesel fuel and customs fees I had to pay to get the guitar back into my Country.

I use 9's cause that's all these guitars can handle without further setup, meaning buying more springs.

Josh-JWC - No sharp bridge, no sharp nut. Edge trems are good till they break strings. I've been up and down this guitar many times.

OCPS470 - Well the only trem I could retrofit on this guitar is Edge or Lo Pro. I have replaced my Lo Pro with an Edge from my S540LTD and it still breaks. Honestly, when I had my 555, the Lo TRS II had great string mileage.

Ethn - $1275 USD. Condition remains Excellent. What's wrong with the DBK? The only diff between a DBK and your FP are the Breeds and the Ultra Wizard neck. Both Jap made. I don't care much for Wizards. The JS neck is probably the greatest neck.

I've played an JPM EBMM down in the US the day I bought my 7V down there. It's really really really nice.

Ovation1 - I'm thinking now single coils are the way to go for the front pup. Definately. Humbuckers in the front position just sound too muddy. USA Ash/alder is my kinda body wood.

Fret Goblin - JS2000CG? Let us know what that guitar is like. Where are you getting it from? May I recommend www.ibanezrules.com Guitar players on this site? - Matt King, Plum Loco, Pete Mulas, Ken Campbell, Clarky, Danny K, Nick Lee, Colin Patullo (where did this guy go?), CLimber... I'm sure i'm forgetting a few but the ones i've listed are people who have some mp3's or videos of themselves on the net.

If you want to check some of my playing out - http://yngvaitriani.tripod.com for videos or http://richardhaier.iuma.com for some very rough mp3 demos.

Plum Loco - I have played a PRS bolt-on before. The pickups had far too much output for my liking. I have a strong attack as it is so soft pickups work nicely to balance my attack out.

Mr Nick - The micro guitar. It's probably impossible for the strings to ring.

Master Yoda - There you are. You're crazy. All that action and no guitar?

Silmarien - I find that most all the pictures on Rich's site are of the highest quality home digital camera shots.

Clarky - Wow, Floyd on a strat. Right handed with the 70's headstock. Nice hair. Let me guess.... 1985?

Master Yoda - You think he'll stop? Gas + Fire = ....

Ethn - Copper is a good metal. People make big $ off selling copper pipe. Maybe not the strongest but I dunno how it's possible to snap a copper bar when whammying. Oh well, I have 2.

There must be something terribly wrong with your DBK if it's tinty sounding. It's supposed to sound just the opposite.

McDave - No I didn't have time to cool them off, you should see the ending solo I did after FTLOG. I kinda butchered it but it was funny. Check my other clips?

Ethn - Weird about the DBK man. I've heard nothing but good things from other people. I'm kinda just convinced that Jems just suck in general.

PeanutLover - Brother John is about Joe's bro. You like Hordes of Locusts? I'll be performing and recording Hordes of Locusts Dec 20th.

Ethn - The TRS trems are decent until the knife edges start to wear, because once that happens, it will never work the same again. No way to replace them.

I don't like RG's. Even when they're well made, they're still really boring. Boring woods and pickups. Basswood body, cheap Ibanez pickups. Always floating bridges. Super thin Wizard necks. The only RG's I find worth playing are the ones with mohog/maple body combos. Still, the thin necks are annoying.

Death Cube - Sounds like your bar inserts far too easily. You'll need both washers on the arm if you don't have it already. Other than that, the nut on the underside of the arm socket has to be tightened along with the socket ring on the surface of the Edge.

WhoJack - Just picked up some 400mg Super Strength Motrin IB today. Gonna start taking it tomorrow.

Clarky - Oops meant left.

Ethn - Cheap metal, inconsistent design on Edges? Speltered metal? It's better than cast iron, that's for sure.

Silmarien - I think those pictures are from edroman.com . It might be his wife. I'm not 100% sure.

Psycho Monkey - Hahaha. The reason Joe never breaks a string is because he uses a new pack of strings for every show.

FRET GOBLIN - It's called the EDIT button. USE IT.

Crystal Planet - I dunno man. I did the song 100% by ear and never had the need for a 6 string. You should also notice that Steve has played FTLOG live ever since with a 6 string.

Sharif - Thanks very much. Check out my other clips if you have the time aswell.

Michelle - SRV is among the best without a doubt.

Kinber - Whatcha doin now?

Zed - If you don't like influencing, look at it this way. If he played the JS100 in a guitar store and liked it that much, he woulda bought it anyways. Was only a matter of time.

Sharif - Thanks. Let me know if you get anything of yours up then.

Plum - Bolt ons are $1500, they can't be that cheap. Set necks are usually $3000. Beh, i'm having trouble with my own damn guitars. All of the sudden with my 7V now, I get low action and little to no buzz on strings A - high E but Low E buzzes very very much in relation to the others. Never before has this happened.

Death Cube K - I thought it was climate related too but the screwed up thing is that the Low E buzzes more than normal and the other strings lost the other strings less.

Kinger - Home jobs are the best. Start and finish when you like. I guess you get payed by the amount of parts you collect?

Phryg Dom - I'd rather watch a video clip of shred rather than listen to an mp3. The whole point of listening to shred is purely for technique right?

Matt - If your wedding is in at least 7 months, i'll be there if i'm welcome. And the first show I can come and see, i'll let you know... unless you ever come to Ontario for a gig or something.

What's this about endorsement??? BMC?

COOL POSTER, you just had to throw in the quote eh? It's good. Man TJ looks different. NO BRETT!

Matt - School gets in the way, damnit. I'd love to see you guys play at Jemfest but Cali is so far man. I rarely step foot outside my neighbourhood. Guess i'll have to settle for the videos.

If the wedding isn't for quite some time, I can make it.

AIM? Can't add with just screename.

Fake - Because Italians are the greatest guitar players in the world.

Sharif - Rain is really really nice. I liked it. Lead guitar was a little out of tune? Heh, it was still really good man. Loved the composition.

I suppose when you first sign up, it takes a week for your site to be enabled, but once it's all done, it's gravy.

Sharif - Limit? Gee I dunno if anyone has actually reached it. Look at Pete Mulas' site. He has maybe 30 tracks on his site. The more people visit iuma's site, the more their ads and sponsors are seen. I don't think they have a limit, but even if they did, I don't think you'd hit it.

The only downside to iuma is the lenghty registration time and sometimes their upload system is down. With these in mind, iuma is a great start for getting feedback on your music.

Ethn - Haha Buckethead. Yeah, ... playing is fun. I enjoy playing for all the kids.

You got rid of your DBK eh? $200, hahaha, the materials on the guitar alone cost almost half that. Well maybe not even. Nevermind the build or the fact that it's a musical instrument.

LGU89 - A brilliant album + a brilliant movie. I'd be busting if someone got me that for a gift although, I already own NOTE and have seen D&D several times. I actually wanted to rent it last night with some friends but they couldn't handle being rad enough to watch a movie of such preportions.

Damien - HAHAHAHA ELTON AND SATAN!
