Evbro - Man it's been a while. How's Mak?
To anyone - Seeking feedback on half finished song http://richardhaier.iuma.com - 'full clip'
People either really really dig it or don't care. It seems that way with my music. eg.) jazz demo, metal demo, metal demo 2
thanks

Yngwie plays the same 7 note picking patterns over and over fast. Yngwie plays the same sweep arpeggios over and over. He thinks he's the greatest guitarist in the world. He criticizes other guitar players of their guitar playing because they don't do it how it should be done according to Yngwie. Example: The Might Turtle Head is "out of tune". Micheal Romeo copied Yngwie's style and doesn't credit him for it. He says Vai is better than Satriani.
Even most teen guitarists learn there is no "best" or "better" guitarist in the world.
Yngwie's not even good. He can pick and sweep like a machine but can you tell a machine to write you a beautifully moving piece of music? Or can you tell it to perform a certain amount of tasks per second?
Bottom line - Yngwie Malmsteen sucks. Maybe in the early 80's when shred started to come to life it would have been acceptable but one album is enough, really.

Cube - If he didn't play 28 notes a second, someone else would have. If he didn't pick notes fast, someone else would have. Like I said, "groundbreaking" for one album but enough's enough.
Did anyone see his dvd with some orchestra? He played the exact same solos that he does for every song and every lick he plays on his "instructional videos". WANK WANK WANK WANK WANK WANK WANK
Greg M - That's hilarious. That's ultra hilarious. Did anyone read the one where some dude came home from the army on a helicopter and his wife hands him his babyt and he holds up high... to the point her head level was in the path of the helicopter rotar blades? "WHOOOOPSIES!"
orangeade - HAHAHAHAHA imagine being the person he was proving it to!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

FaveNickname - It's not really a matter of sucks or not even though I did say it. It started off as he sucks because he thinks he's the best. Bad attitude. It doesn't help him that he is not versatile and has been playing the exact same way without change or... originality for that matter. Seriously, his cd's are exercise videos minus the visuals. Bad attitude + tasteless playing = sucks. Shred sucks.
Yeah yeah, Vai plays fast, but he tends to wank a lot aswell. He has melody and shown constant growth and originality so I like him.
Joe doesn't even play too many fast guitar lines anymore. Look at SBM. There's like, maybe 2 or 3 fast solos? And they're not long either. SBM has truly focused on melody.

r6r - Thanks for checking it, really, thanks.
Danny K - Thanks for checking it. When I finish the lead guitar, you'll see why it's 8 minutes long. I can't hear the song being without the progressiveness of it. I'll listen to some of your stuff that I haven't listened to yet.
Matt - Thanks for checking it out. Checking FoM.

I don't know why, but Flight of Mind is sounding particularily nice now. The real bass guitar sounds excellent and I love the way it goes into it's line.
I am enjoying the non-legato lead guitar part. The first melody line is killer. It grabs you and doesn't let go. I am loving that guitar tone too. What guitar? Obviously it's gotta be a full front pickup.
The only thing about this song is at 2:00 exactly. The drums are fine, the lead is fine. I just cannot distinguish between the bass and rhythm. It's like a wall of sound. I can still somewhat hear it well enough without it ruining the song. It picks up again at 2:28
I am hearing some FIABD influence in this tune definately.

PhillyPhan - How did he not see a landed shark coming at him from 30 feet? It must've been an amphibious shark. (HA!?)
Trutina - Thanks, no prob.
Boyd - Seinfeld rocks.

Pastel Black - HAHAHA my dad would love that line. (Smashing cookies into the monitor)
darkhigh - He did come on more often earlier this year or late 2002 but as you can see from the constant added show dates, he's probably pretty busy. Touring is haaaaaaaaaaard tiring work.

#1 Christian's demos sound like IA
#2 His album is completely earth shattering and more melodic with a wide variety of styles and unique, energetic, versatile playing
#3 I like Christian better

Lord of Karma - Where did you find that TORONTO guitar player? He's quite good! I'm also from Toronto so I have to find out if I already know him, haha.
Matt - Stay in time comment being that your drummer was playing guitar. He may not be able to handle the chords (which he did actually) but his timing should be right.

dark high - Joe holds or slightly depresses the whammy bar with his left hand while he crosses his left hand over and pick one or more open string pinch harmonics at which point he raises the whammy bar to increase tension on the strings to make the pitch of the harmonics raise which in turn squeals.

McDave - Gee thanks, a LOT. http://yngvaitriani.tripod.com - You can pretty much go to a search engine, type in my name along with "guitar" in the search field and find me. There is a recent shred clip added. "... Paul Gilbert ..."
HA, Joe popped in to fill us in on his shirt. Think Joe was just skimming through the posts on a regular basis and found this one, or Austin just timed it right?
