bfranco - Check out Joe's newest album if you haven't. It's got some great blues rock kind of stuff on it.
Stu Clone - Yup definately. I thought "...Melons" was excellent.
Hamdo - Yes, he has played CRATS live.
ArtanisI - It's all about mines, tanks and EMP vs Toss.
Matt - Yeah we're all waiting for that COE cd. How's the band coming along? Really, how is it coming along?

stu clone - People didn't dig melons eh? Let me know when there's more tunes. So far you're 1 for 1 in my book. Melons is great. The melody sounds very refined and professional.
Artanis - What maps you like?
EyesofFire - FTLOG is a difficult song. You must've worked hard to have it ready for stage. And the legato in FIABD, also not easy. So why do you think you were cut? I'm sure that if your friends are real friends, they will understand that in life sh*t happens and sometimes you have no control over it. This was for school you say?
Lord of Karma6 - (The live tunes) HERE HERE!
Slanshroom - The guitar playing in Flymans knuckle is veyr nice. The drums especially impress me in this piece.
Artanis - Too bad it's fake. Notice 2 extra thumbs fretting the same string. Demonished?
I actually discovered a very difficult chord myself It's a great way to play a barred dom7 chord, however the 7th is in the bass note (low e string in this case). It involves using the back of a knuckle.

What does it mean if you've played guitar for 10 years but rarely enjoy it unless it involves preparing to play live or playing live?
I haven't seriously touched a guitar for a month and thne before that there was another guitar drought and i'm starting to not care.
'Christian Alsing - Nut' is going to be the only thing keeping me playing lately as i'm playing it live June 16th at school. It is an INSANE song and was torture to learn by ear.

r6r - Actually the reason i'm asking is cause i've already taken lots and lots of time off and don't even feel like a guitar player anymore.
Kell - I like your response.

Migupais - Modes are a great way of taking 7 different scales and practicing them until you ultimately start looking at them as 12 notes you can use at any time, but at certain times, some are more pleasing to the ear (subjective) then others.
http://yngvaitriani.tripod.com - If you watch the Pickshred video, and keeping in mind modes and how they relate to eachother, i'm playing the first 6 notes of a mode then going up to the next relative mode and playing it's first 6 notes and so on... This is a fun, easy to pick pattern that really helps you visualize the notes on 2 adjacent strings, whichever 2 you choose to play.

migupais - Easy way? No not really. Just play with them A LOT. Eventually you'll find there are 7 different notes you could use in 7 different keys.

Matt - How does inverting Fmaj7 change it from Amixo to Aminor. They're still the same notes, how does the scale change in the same key.
OCP - I was gonna play Christian Alsing - Nut (work my ass off learning it by ear) for school in 2 days but I won't be getting the backing track from Christian in time. So then I thought of just putting together a solo act but then thought "nahhhh".

Matt - You say you have a chord with the notes, say, 1 2 3 4, and inverted it making it 2 3 4 1, and somehow it goes from A mixo to A minor
I don't get it because the 1 2 3 4 notes are all the same no matter what order they're in

I'm listening to some JS today and I realize, the man's a musical genius and he just normally doesn't show it. 3 songs in particular:
Baroque, Dreaming #11 and I am Become Death
Everyone of those songs impresses me so much on a musical level aswell as listening enjoyment.
OCP - Nice short melodic clip, very cleanly played as usual.
Pete - justcause, you've proved you are now truly a monster when it comes to technique. Lots of guys can play shred licks but you've encorporated your licks into one fluid style which is quite impressive. Shred doesn't move me anymore but that was an impressive clip none the less.

Pete - My main impression, very fuid shred solo. Sounded improvised and all your techniques flowed nicely I thought.
Plum - Yeah I talked to them recently actually. Looking to get together again possibly soon.

Pete - Actually, oops I lied, the thing I love most about your new tune is that cooooool ass backing to it. The rhythms that the drums throw out at you and the cool progression behind it. I haven't analysed it really but it's an awesome listen.
What is it you like most about your new song exactly? You seem happy with it.
---I coulda double posted for this and although it is deserving;
Baroque - Is proof that Joe is a genius. Why do I say that? To say this as simply as possible;
All the little chord changes throughout each and every chord and the way the low notes and high notes are different between each chord and partial chord and forms the melody it does.
Ok it wasn't that simple... beautiful

OCP - I think it should do as a demo. Sounded a little too predictable for a song but nice for a tone clip.
Pete - I'm going to have your clip a listen again tomorrow (tired now) and try to figure out what the hell you're doing there. It's a crazy rhythm backing.
Greg M - Dreaming #11? Which song are you talking about. That album is just one studio song and 3 live.
If anyone is familiar with the 'radio' stations you can receive on your TV with digital cable service, today, Joe Satriani - All Alone played.

Pete - Very progressive. Uh... a lot happening to comment on. Again, very fluid shred solo.

Iambic - The 11th of E is A in the next octave. Since the open A string is in the same octave as the low E string, considering the low E string in the root note, it is instead called Emin7add4. A is E's 4th. Hence 'add4'.
Guitarcake - I found a chord that involved using the outside knuckle on the backside of one's finger behind the fingernail. You also have to bar 2 strings on the 7th fret with your pinky. It's a dominant7, 6 string bar chord but there's a 7th on the Low E string. In the key of Dmajor (A mixo), the chord would be (starting from Low E) frets---3, 7, 7, 6, 5, 5---
