Matt - I hope it wasn't your JS1000 or your BMC. Also, I learned a few months ago, that no matter how much you pay for your car, anyone who knows how CAN break into it. Never leave valuables in for even 20 minutes.

DCK - That's more than a bad day man. Shot 3 times in the throat?

G60 - From now on, I will signify you as G60 because as I read your name, I was about to ask if you were into VW aswell. Oh well.

I listened to your tune. I like the progression of it, not to say it is too progressive. It is overall well done.

Tapper5 - There's more than just me to ask to set up an iuma.

Just visit their main page, www.iuma.com - and you will easily be able to direct your way around through their to sign up. It normally takes a few days for them to actually approve and complete the registration of your site.

Mon Apr 28 '03 9:32:48 pm = Joe Satriani's most previous post.

Cube - I have to say, that simulated orchestra section in "Cubicle" absolutely had me floored in a relaxed mind sense. It was breathtaking to me.

Oh, and killer picking in the chaotic techno section.

Edit #2: Cube, if you wrote a song that was strongly based on that that mysterious orchestrated theme, you could easily move into my top 20 favourite things i've ever heard. W.O.W.

Edit #3: Unless that's a sample of something I absolutely must hear.

Cube - I'm blown away that that orchestrated section was made by you.

Invigor - Really man, get Alsing's album directly from him. It's by far worth the $7 USD. One of the best guitar albums i've heard because it's so fresh.

Mick87 - Oh sorry I wasn't around when you were talking about Yngwie. He came over last night at about 3am. He said he went riding around the neighbourhood looking for kids hanging out late at night. He said he had all his gear and one big ass power generator and "wowed" them all. He invited himself in for tea but when I said I didn't have any tea, he insisted that i'm "rubbish" and that the "fury" is "this close" to "unleashing itself".

Man I swear, when they hit Toronto, i'm going to wait for silence during Yngwie's set and just scream out "WATCH OUT! HE'S GOING TO RELEASE THE FUCKIN' FURY!"

and then "Hey Yngwie! SEE YOU IN TOKYO BITCH!"

Then yell at him in Swedish. "Da has ta fa! NOOT JAV LAS!"

Just listen to the airplane clip agian, it's the best I could 'translate' it.

Lyz - Been a while huh? My buddy went to Toronto Sanitarium. Apparently the acoustics blew and Metallica finished their set early.

Anyone know the Sprite commercial where there is an extreme Mountain Biker running a course and he does a 360 all the while downing a bottle of sprite, he tosses the sprite in a recycling bin while mid air, and goes for another jump but gets leveled by a collision course with a bird?

Well if anyone knows that commercial, listen carefully to the ending of it. They play a clip of techno music which sounds identical to Devil's Slide.

ON ANOTHER NOTE - Anyone going to the 13th annual Great Canadian Bug Show. August 10, Hershey Centre, Toronto.

Vw, Audi, Porsche. Mainly VW though. All VW enthusiasts, purists and fans alike should go. It's a great event and now what I live for.

Lyz - I'm sure G3 will stop in T.O. Most people find us(Clone 1, Clone 2) at the shows easy enough because there's 2 Joe Satriani Clones walking around, however, my hair has grown out and I love it that way, so Clone 2 may be the only one with his head shaved with the sun glasses. I'll still have the sunglasses, just long brown hair on top of it.

If you can't find us i'll carry around a flare gun. If it's a green flare, come find us. If it's a red flare, it's a request for Joe's ENCORE.

No i'm just kidding... green flares only.

OCP - I'm doin alright. Just started playing guitar hardcore again and learning songs by ear. Christian Alsing is torture. We'll see where it goes from here.

Still doing the musician self employment kinda thing eh? Must be great. I'm gonna be starting Auto Apprenticeship soon (next week, YES!)

Alexendre - Doing quite well. Just landed a full time job doing Auto Mechanics. Played a lot of guitar recently. It hasn't stuck consistently though.

Hands are feeling fine but shoulder hurts from water skiing (4 carburetors on a 4stroke boat motor, output: 125hp). When all 4 carbs kick in, oh man, it just takes you away on that ski. And if you're on one ski during that time, you get a real workout.

Hmm what else. I have a few song ideas built up but just haven't got the time to get them worked out.

How about you man? How you doing?

OCP - Engine work included in auto service. It's not a performance or custom shop or anything. Just a general service shop for German car makes. I love cars, German designed and engineered especially.

I'm still blown away at the way you can make money off music like that. The closest I ever got was asking if it was worth applying at a music store but I just didn't have the drive to go through with it. I may be starting a metal band soon, so that will keep me up in the next year or so.

Guitacake - Steve's just thankful Yngwie's not doing a high kick in that picture.

In more recent news, Steve Vai is hospitalized in a freak high kick accident. Police arrived at the scene earlier today for a G3 rehearsal.

Yngwie states his case, "Well I just just sitting here, shredding my ass off, that Vai guy was on stage doing that foolish whammy stuff, whatever that rubbish is. I was so into what I was doing because i'm so amazing, I stood up and unleashed a furious high kick and I leveled him. I have reason to believe he (Vai) was so into what I was playing, he wanted to hear it while he was rehearsing. I don't blame him, i'm f***ing Yngwie the Viking Malmsteen!"

Yngwie completed his statement with a "I'm the crusader of the night!" and ran off.

Alexendre - Thanks, let me know when there are updates on your iuma.

Matt - The G in G3 I have read before as Ghiddra, the 3 headed monster from a Godzilla movie. But it really just means "guitar"

Mick - Haha, thanks man.

SuppaDave - HAHAA CATERING TABLE! High five coming your way.

Lyz - Ha, yeah, God Bless the Viking.

PJH - Heh, it (Yngwie's music) hasn't changed much from the 80's.

Guitarcake - No man! He's got the fury! Never doubt the fury!

Trutina - 16 valves are very hard to come by now a days. I have found an 8 valve but the car is really messed. I have also found several MkIII VR6 GTIs. I am kind of at a point where I have to decide if I just buy a MkIII Golf CL (I hate power this and automatic that... not to mention auto trannies) and drop a VR6 (yeah yeah, tranny and ECU aswell) in it or buy a MkII Golf and do the same VR6 drop... OR, just buy a MkIII VR6. Ugh, insurance...

Nothing beats a MkII with a VR6 conversion... and that's not even gutted or tuned.

A gutted MkIII VR6 does the 1/4 mile in less than 13 seconds (STOCK ENGINE)

I care about building a serious slalom car before getting something that's fast in the 1/4.

Trutina - There's a saying, Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races. I believe it. I've seen cars with "190bhp" beat cars with "240bhp". Means nothing.

VR6 are well known engines for torque and even more can be squeezed out of them.

I agree with the valve theory, it's true.

alexandrecaetano - Thanks for the random bits of inspiration. I actually played last night for an hour or two. I am able to learn a lot of the songs I want to learn all by ear, but the time it takes, I just don't seem to have anymore. Or if I do have the time, I end up doing something else and the day is over so quick (because of full time work 8:30 - 17:15)

But a friend (ex-drummer) asked to to start a band with him again because we were the only 2 people who were always on the same page about things, musically and professionally.

Fusion - I really dug the new tune. It's not complete is it? Oh, make the rhythm guitar louder. It's a great lead and needs the bass and rhythm guitar to back it up nicely. Kind of inspired me to get back into recording new harmonized-melodic pieces. Great work.
