Pete - You don't say. Wow... how'd you know that? Listening party which I didn't listen to?

Well.. the album... beyond amazing.

Anyone else pick up on the similarity in the ending riff of New Last Jam to the ending riff of Trundrumbalind. Those rock.

And Mind Storm... wow.

What Breaks a Heart by far blows away any instrumental composed by any guitarist. Joe IS the melody man.

...and listen to that solo. My god.

Was 'You Saved my Life' based on a real life event? I didn't listen to the listening party. I couldn't hear anything until my copy was in my hands.

ToadFish - Cool, JS10 demo. I wanna hear too.

Akreepish - Man, you shoulda just got a sepeate seat for yourself. You'll enjoy it all the same though.

...So anyways about the VOICES IN COULDS RACE ACROSS THE SKY, I realized something. I was listening to some songs on my computer speakers and my room speakers. My computer and room have a similar setup as far as sound setup goes. They both have a stereo amp and 2 fairly good speakers although I think my room's speakers are far better aswell as bigger. They probably have a better freuency range. I couldn't hear things aswell on my computer sound setup. Not nearly aswell so if you can find a good setup of speakers or headphones, you may not think i'm off my rocker afterall.

Stu Hacking - What kind of axe?

Toadfish - You can't upload to my email. Hotmail only allows 1mb attachments... unless your file is less than 1.1mb...

Stu Hacking - Oh yeah, haha i'm familiar with that model. The main thing is that it's Japanese made so the quality is always there. The one thing about those guitars is the pickups. You may or may not like the stock pickups. Lots of people change them. One thing about RG's is that most of them are basswood. I really like the RG520 QS. Mohog Maple combo. Man that thing is sweet. It also has the stock Ibanez pickups but it still sound nice.

Higain - 46 man! Oh! Not the thing to say with a "belated" in that post. Quick! Edit it to say 46! Heh. SBM does rock. What did you think of What Breaks a Heart because that song does things to me. Everything about it is amazing. And about technicality vs melody, Joe has really taken me over with the melodoes on this album. He may not have gone as crazy with the flapping fingers but you can't tell me you didn't have to check your underwear after you heard the arps in Mind Storm. That pickslide solo rocks too.

Michelle - Stoner? Boo! Wanna hear/see some of my demos/videos? You never asked before... you hate me? Michelle hates me....

Clarky - Crap. It was a divx 4.12 and converted into an mpeg.

www.downloads.com and search for divx. See if getting the codec helps.

Clarky - paulclark@rocketmail.com right? I will try again.

Prog X - HAHA! Whack a mole. You're the man.

ToadFish - JS10th demo got through. Hmmm... I liked that.

The Local Person - Well said on Mind Storm. Steve's tone can sometimes sound very artificial. I like hearing a real guitar. Strings, flesh and wood.

Maybe it's asking for too much but Joe, I was watching a bootleg I have of you playing Toronto in 1990 on the FIABD tour. It was an excellent show. You were so so energetic and into the songs and you moved more. Also every now and then between songs you have have little jams with Stu. For instance after the Crush of Love if you remember... I will make a cd with that tour on as a video. Hopefully you will find time to watch it.

Speaking of Chromeboy, I was watching that 1990 bootleg of mine and Chromeboy was sooo shiny back then. No tape between the pickups yet either.

Narface - Phrygian Dominant pretty much summed it up there. What has happened was when you pull the bar or dive bomb, the base plate of the tremolo acts as a pry bar under the screws and has forced the screws upwards which has destroyed the thread in the wood. This is because you probably had your bridge screwed down too far for tremolo use. All you'll need is wood filler, a drill and you're all set. Make sure the screw threads are still good.

satchfan - Did you see G3 2001? Vai's drummer was the drummer from Planet X. Virgil Donati.

vetteguy43 - You have to cut the end of the string string with the ball or loop off. Once done, you need an allen key 3 or 4mm I forgot exactly, and loosen the screw on the back of saddle of the string you want to change. Then insert the string and tighten the saddle lock. Then insert the string under the locking nut and under the string retaining bar if it has one. The pressure pad on the locking nut should be placed so that the edge on the top of the pad is parallel with the neck.

To anyone keeping up with Steve Vai news, Steve played Fire Strings last night in Japan. I do hope someone recorded that.

Non Smoker - I gotta say, I have a lot of respect for someone who can kick such an addiction. I wouldn't know it's power or effects but as all of us have, i've heard quite a lot on the subject. No matter what, KEEP IT UP. Food tastes better? Man that's gotta be cool. I heard though that people who quit start to put on weight.

Any info on FIRE STRINGS recordings? Joe Do you know anything about Fire Strings? Steve played last night in Japan.

IbaNick - I am the one with the plain black shirt. JS Clone 2 is wearing the Hendrix shirt.

Well my band just palyed a show today. 80's metal with 80's headbanging in one package. Got it on tape. The videos are usually 40-50mb.

Roughly 6 minutes. That sound right?

For Adun - Hey man, the 80's rocked. Yes some of the worst music came from there but so did some of the best. BTW you play Starcraft?

Phrygian Dominant - I have a magazine where both Joe and Steve are in an interview (which also has an awesome pullout poster of Joe and Steve with their guitars that I got signed) where they speak of their childhood and THE SEA OF EMOTION. They weren't necessarily saying that THEY did acid or drugs but were implying that that's what people did there.

..On this whole drugs issue, all we know is what we hear from other people really. Not a lot of cold hard evidence that Joe used to do that stuff. If you suspect that he still did even in his earlier albums... Just think of this... JOE IS A DOWN TO EARTH FAMILY MAN. I'm not saying I know one thing or another but you gotta think of these things. Ya Yo did.

Master Yoda - Yeah let it dry out like someone said. Electronics don't work when they're wet but it doesn't necessarily mean that it destroys them on contact.
